  1. I agree the Lions fans were very loud and proud tonight and the SC fans as normal sat on hands and did not respond. But I will say I think we witnessed the two best QBs in the league tonight with the edge going to #7 from Cannon the run in the first half was one of the best I have seen this season. Did he play last year?
  2. Here are remaining games: Cannon vs Upperman York @ Livingston and vs Smith County Dekalb vs Upperman and vs Livingston By the looks of things Cannon has the easiest route.
  3. Well if Dekalb, Cannon and Smith win out the way I understand it is it is three way tie, if you go head to head vs each other all teams split with Cannon beating Smith, Dekalb beating cannon and Smith beating Dekalb, it would then go to common opponents from top to bottom in region and all team beat those teams also. Most districts have other tiebreakers I have heard this district tie-breaker is points scored, then points given up and then coin toss not for sure though. Has anyone heard about the kid from Smith who got hurt how is he?
  4. Boy the AAA playoff quads will have a big shake-up now with Cannon County defeating Smith County 32-10. How will this effect things?
  5. And Sc will continue to get everyones best game they have a very first class program and well respected program, and it is ran very well by one of the best.
  6. The district race is crazy now with the three teams tied right now all beaten each other. It will be interesting to see what happens. I was wandering how long it would be befroe someone from SC said something about class. What was the problem, I was told once by a coach from SC it is not our job to stop us it is the other teams job. Boy the playoff quads now have a kink in them.
  7. Who wins this district this season? Upperman Livingston Smith County York Cannon County Macon County Dekalb County
  8. I agree JC 27!!!! All this talk of the Lions making it to the playoffs and finishing second in the league is a grat dream, but the reality of the matter is that if they lose the first game of the season that the wheels on the new bus will fall of quickly. The best advice for a new program reaching new heights is to take it one game at a time. You know Coach Barger will know how to stop the Lions the best of anyone but wil he be able to accomplish that goal?
  9. Well this topic did not get alot of reaction. But I found this article on WJLE in Smithville very interesting, considering that Middle Tennessee Christian counted the game as a varsity win for there program. Like I said I hope the Tiger coaches are not doing this but something does not jive here. According to WJLE radio Station: Tiger baseball game rained out Monday March 31, 2008 The DeKalb County High School Tiger baseball game at York Institute, scheduled for Monday evening, has been postponed due to rainy weather and wet field conditions. The game will be made up on a date yet to be announced. The Tigers, meanwhile, are scheduled to host the Dragons, Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The Tigers' game with Grundy County, scheduled for last Friday, was canceled when Grundy County did not show up. The game will either be made up at a later date, or Grundy County will be forced to forfeit. The Tigers lost to Middle Tennessee Christian in a junior varsity contest, last Thursday. The DCHS baseball team is 6-2 overall on the season and 2-2 in district play. Then According to The Daily News Journal: MTCS 10, DEKALB COUNTY 0 Andrew Kuhn struck out six batters to earn the shutout and helped his own cause with two hits at the plate as MTCS whitewashed DeKalb County. Taylor Beckham and Kyle Pitts had two hits each for the Cougars It is okay to lose games coach, just don't cheat the system
  10. I have been a major supporter of Tiger baseball over the years, but I was told something the other day that really suprised me and made me question the guidance of our baseball program. The other night our Tigers payed Middle Tennessee Christian and lost 10-0 to a team that just outplayed us with our Number 2 pitcher taking the mound. After the game I was in town and saw some players and ask them how they did I was told we lost but we were counting it as a JV game, and it would not count as a loss. After discussing this with a few people in town I was told over the last couple of years that this has happened before, and most of the players are aware of this. With this being said I have been a supporter of Tiger Baseball for years now my son played for the Tigers and I was a proud supporter of the team and trhe accomplishments that they gined and earned. The coaching staff workes very hard and the boys work very hard, but if this is true and has happened and Coach Odom has not counted losses over his 11 year tenure, then everything that I thought about this coach was not true. It is not fair to not count losses on your teams record and should be dealt with by the adminstration at DCHS. If anyone has any other information on this please enlighten us or tell us that this is hearsay and not true. Thanks and keep up the good work Tiger Baseball and Lady Tiger Softball
  11. Predictions for Tourney: Upperman vs Greenbrier Upperman will name the score. Lady Bees by 35+ Livingston vs White House Don't know much about White House. But I will say Hog-Eye takes this one. Livingston by 17 Cannon County vs Station Camp Could be a good game if Cannon plays well. It will be tough at SC. Cannon by 3 York vs DCA York also names the score on this one. York by 25 Looks liks 7-AA will have another semi-final night in the region. At least that is what I hope.
  12. Shrek: I was wandering who the new girl was on Smith Countys bench the last couple of weeks. I asked someone inside the progrma and they said that they had a transfer from RBS, that was a freshman. Is this who you are talking about or is there another?
  13. I agree with you saying that Davis is MVP. I think that she deserves it. But I would not be surprised if Ferriess from Smith County does not give her a good run for the money on votes. On freshman of the year as much as I would love to see Biles win it, I think that the guard from Cannon County (I think Sissom or Sells at Livingston win this award)!!!! I feel Coach of the year could be York or Cannon's coach. I like Dyer for Defensive player of the year and West of Livingston for Most Improved.
  14. The problem is the AD and the adminstration. No one was interviewed at all for the last job opening. It was given to the current coach and they do not care about the girls program and that is obivous.
  15. From what I saw last night, Dekalb does play better and more under control. They do play harder and with a desire. But Kitty, "HEART" does not get you wins in the toughest district in the state and does not get you a fifth place finish. Keep living on those nine lives. Livingston played well last night, a little motivation never hurts. Just wish they could have kept the thirty point lead when Dekalb decided to press in the fourth, but that is the coaches call. Good luck the rest of the year Lady Tigers. Keep rolling Lady Cats!!!!
  16. Warrior4ever: What is bledsoes schedule this season? Can you post it if you have it? Will they be able to compete in there schedule?
  17. Any word yet: I know it is early, but has anyone heard anything on what they want to do with this job. Hopefully they don't screw this up again and we get someone who will want to build a tradition and hopefully some stability to this program and the boys invilved in this program.
  18. I thought Armstrong was a good coach just young. We do need Barger, whatever it takes to get him back the powers at be need to take that approach.
  19. Bump: And by the way this hire should have been made two years ago when the job opened up the first time and the Indians would not be in the mess they were in this year!!!!!!! Powers at be make the right move and right call and go get CHAD BARGER away from Woodbury and back to the VALLEY!!!
  20. What were the reasons for him leaving? And who is a front runner for the job, will they bring back Barger this time or will we overlook him again. Would like to see him back in the valley again. he has done a fine job at Cannon County and now needs to wear the purple and gold again.
  21. Well what was said, please fill us in was the comments made this year?
  22. I was reading the Gallatin newspaper and it sounds like portland played well, but the big laugh that I got was the Station Camp game, why would you only play freshman versus Hendersonville and leave your starters at home. Did he forget that he plays Macon, David Lipscomb, Portland and hume-fogg every year. This guy is crazy. Also Coach Z's comments were very funny, The jamboree contest between Station Camp’s Lady Bison and Hendersonville’s Lady Commandos turned out like it looked on paper. Considering the Lady Bison brought only its freshman squad to battle the Lady Commando varsity squad, the final score of 44-9 didn’t surprise many in the stands. What did perplex people was the reasoning behind the Lady Bison not playing its entire varsity squad. “Let’s just say that was my decision,” said Station Camp coach Ferrell Zissette after the contest. “Some of our young girls got to play — in a couple of years, this will be our varsity team. “The way I coach, my youngest girl is just as important as my oldest girl. They’ve got to be able to fill in when the opportunity arises.” Whatever the reasoning, Hendersonville’s two biggest offensive weapons took advantage of the situation. Senior center Rachel Davis netted a game-high 15 points in just over a quarter of action, while sophomore guard Kali Holtfreter tossed in nine points in the same amount of time. “This is the first time I can remember us being this balanced,” said Hendersonville coach Stacia Dean. “We mainly wanted to get the jitters out today and get in front of a big crowd…get the nerves out.” Hendersonville, which has 10 sophomores and two freshmen on its varsity roster, saw its younger players get plenty of action. Of course, after playing three JV scrimmages earlier in the day, they were most likely worn by game’s end. “They came in and did a good job filling in,” Dean said. “We have 14 girls, and they’re playing really well together. It’s exciting. It makes it fun to go to practices.” Samantha Goonan’s bucket early in the game tied things at 2-2, but Hendersonville proceeded to outscore the Lady Bison 28-1 after that point to take a 30-3 lead early in the second quarter. Davis had three 3-point plays, converting the free throw on two of those, during the scoring run. Angie Hardson and Kellie Cannon each scored three points to lead Station Camp. “Hendersonville has a good team,” Zissette said. “The last thing I told the girls is that they won’t see a team this good the rest of the year.”
  23. Why did she leave Upperman were she started every game and go to Jackson County where she will come off the bench and not get to play hardly at all.
  24. Rumor heard yesterday in Baxter that a player from Upperman left and went to Jackson County does anyone have info on this, and if this is true who was it??????
  25. I just do not see Macon scoring over 14 points, but I do see the Owls running and passing up and down the field. Also SCHS defense will score at least 7 points on Friday night. final score 28-14 Smith County
