I think AC will be fine. I am from Sweetwater and watched Downs Coach down here for a few years with NO talent, and he made a pretty decent team. I would think Anderson County will definently still have more than he did at Sweetwater and he did a great job down here. Beat McMinn Central a couple times and Polk Co a couple times. Something that hasn't been done since he left. Also, if anybody can hit Coach D's Fastball in ANDERSON COUNTY I'm impressed. Cause i heard he still has it. Heard he was still bringing it up around 90. So if he has any eligibility left I would pick them to win the whole darn thing!!! Good Luck Coach and all of AC from Sweetwater.

With Spring practice just around the corner, Sweetwater still has NO football coach in place. This was once the program of east tennessee....Now it's the laughing stock! Can the administration not handle the process of hiring a coach, or is no one interested? Please someone with knowledge feel me in PLEASE? Who is our coach gonna be, or are we getting a dad from the stands to run it?

After four seasons as the top Chief of the "ONCE" mighty Wildcats, Coach David Staff resigns as the head football coach from Sweetwater. In four seasons, Coach Staff had two good years and two bad ones. In both of his good years, he was beat in the 3rd round and then 1st round of the playoffs by Alcoa. I would like to say thank you coach for your hard work and dedication even though at some points it was tough. I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do. With that said, who does everyone think the new coach will be? Will the administration hire from within, or will they go out? As the new region goes into effect this year, I would like to see a coach come in a get the Sweetwater "Fire" back and get these kids fired up about Sweetwater Football. I personally would like to see Mike Martin come home, but I doubt he would.....What's everyone elses thoughts?

SID, Sorry for corrrecting me....So 2 wins in the last 12 years! Is that better? Either way, Sweetwater has had complete domination over Madisonville and Suckuoyah. As for the Alcoa comment, they are Gods gift to High School football. So yeah will say hi. But you besure to say hi when you loose to East Ridge, Howard, Meigs, Central, Polk, and pretty much your whole region..lol And for the poster who made the comment about here little kitty, kitty, kitty. Thats real funny. But even better.........If we're a kitty after the domination we've had over you, you people over the ridge will now be referred to as the Sequoyah Pocahontas'.

You people freakin kill me......You have won what 3 or 4 games the last 30 something years and every year you get on here and predict your gonna win!!! It's very awesome that you have faith in your team and all that, but come on....When does reality set in? Yeah it was close last year but YOU STILL LOST!!!! And I'm not going to say it's going to be a blow out, BUT Sweetwater still has the edge. If you guys could get a coach for more than one or two years that could develop some stability then I might agree with you. But until then wake up from never ever land and come back to reality!!!! I think this will be a great couple of games as well. I think the Chiefs are better coached, but I think Sweetwater has better baseball players. But it should still be fun to watch. Good luck to both teams today and tomorrow.

I agree..... Haven't seen Sweetwater play, but Tellico is terrible. Don't start flaunting it after betting Tellico two games but getting drilled by Harriman, Loudon, and Polk in the preseason.

Ben Downs is the New Head Baseball Coach at AC. He came from Sweetwater High School. He was the Head Coach there for 3 years. Young coach with high energy and a lot of enthusiasm. Should be great for AC. He played at Tennessee Tech University from 99-03. Great Player and did good things at Sweetwater with very little talent.

Seen both teams play. Sweetwater looks really good this year. I was impressed. Sequoyah has lost a lot, but C. Berrong still leads a good charge. Should be a great game in the Water. Sweetwater 72- Sequoyah 55
