9-AAA turned out to be a 3 horse race this year, with Smyrna, Beech, and MJ fighting for the top spot. Smyrna come out on top and have to play Gallatin and Hendersonville. Beech and MJ draw La Vergne and Wilson Central. My guess is Smyrna come out on top of there bracket, but Beech and MJ could be an epic battle, with Beech prevailing in a close one. But everyone knows people come to play at tournament time!!

Beech and MJ play today for the #2 seed which allows them to host the 3, 6, 7 seeds. What are your thoughts and predictions on the game? Who is throwing for either team?

Congrats to Smyrna. Beech played well but Smyrna played better and that is what championship teams do. Flat out Smyrna wanted more than Beech did! Beech had oppurtunity after oppurtunity to score ( i think it was every inning?) and they could not put hits together. Especially in the first inning when the lead-off got on second to start the game and did not move! Smyrna played well and wanted it more! Congrats We will prolly see a rematch in the district tournament! Maybe an even better game

Now that i think about it. Who will throw for MJ? They could make it a 3 way tie for first if they beat Smyrna. but they could gain the #2 spot if they win tonight. What would you do?

MJ and Beech are set to square off in a 9-AAA showdown where one gets their 2nd district loss. Dont know who is penciled to start for MJ but i am guessing Hill will get the job. Frey prolly set to start for the Bucs.

Smyrna will lose 3-4 district games! They are a gamble evrytime they step on the field. 1 of 2 things has to happen for them to win. When Sonny is on the hill (although very beatable) they have a chance. Next if there 1-2-3 hitters do not hit, they stand no chance. Both times Smyrna has won the big game, Sonny was on the hill and their 1-2-3 hitters carried the load. MJ and Beech are both solid solid clubs, Smyrna is just not solid through and through and i look for them two drop 3 if not 4 disrict games! Good Luck Smyrna. MJ and Beech play tommorow! Any thought on the outcome of that one??

Swider is a good cathcher and i dont know other catcher for Smyrna, but i would start the other catcher Swider didnt do so hott behind the plate until the end of the game, if they dont watch out it might get them beat

Beech will probably throw their lefty Frensley. Dont know much bout LaVergne but i Say Beech come out victorious easy.

Ill take a line-up full of good bats over 2-3 good sticks! Your right this one does come down to pitching and defense and not only does Beech have a line-up full of sticks but will have a stud on the mound as well. Brady Frey has been pitching well and so far the Bucs have put up runs. Beech 2-1

Sonny should shut anybody and everybody down. But so should Taylor Hill. Both team have 2 to 3 good hitters. so small ball will win it! Which team will be more disciplined? My bets on MJ!!

Two weeks into the season, Who is shaping up to be a mid-state favorites? There are many tough team with 9AAA and 7AAA you size em' up.

I know The Tennessean puts out mid-state rankings every weeks. Dont know of any state-wide rankings.

Beech deteated H'ville 3-2 lastnight Frensely and Townley both tosssed well for the Bucs.Rice hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth for the go ahead run. Beech is now 2-0 in the 9-AAA which is big considering anybody can beat anybody anyday. Any other disrict scores?

Beech opens up w/ Goodpasture Smyrna opens with Siegel MJ ?? La Vergne ?? Gallatin ?? Hendersonville opened w/ Goodpasture and lost 5-4 WC ?? Anybody know who these other teams open or opened with???

I agree La Vergne has always produced a solid team, but the competition in 9AAA is stiff my guess is they finish in the middle of the pack. Beech, MJ, and Smyrna will fight to be the frontrunner of 9AAA

Darnell pitched in the win against Hendersonville. My guess is Frey for Beech and Moffit for the Cougars, both are great hitting ball clubs it could be a game of defense.

March 13th Beech opens up with a very solid Goodpasture team, who topped Hendersonville ( a young but good team ) today 5-4 . Should be a great to watch.
