Hayden Alford is a sophmore, Someone told me from Lake County that Seth Hinson had hurt a knee? Don't know if this is true or not. Chase Brown started out last year before giving way to Jason Click after the Brownsville game.

Joe has a bit of an "ATTITUDE" I have read...and if he goes to College..and Memphis is thought to be the FRONT RUNNER..I am sure Cal will get that under Control..also heard Joe needs to get in the books...But I saw a YOUTUBE video of Joe and White Station vs.. John Wall #1 player in the country and #1 PG and at about the 6 minute mark...Joe throws one down over the 6"4''' Wall...I bet not many players have done that...

Who many Memphis High school players OTHER than Thaddeus Young has "CAL" gone after...The word is HE WANTS JOE JACKSON and HE WANTS HIM BAD...Cal said.."I don't usually recruit the Memphis kids because when I do I get their "POSSE" Their Family" and their High school coach"...everybody who thinks they know what is best for them other than me"....But Joe Jackson is the first player "Cal" is DETERMINED not to lose...And from what I hear he IS Memphis U's. to lose...Wants to be a Tiger I hear...

Lake County ONLY HAD 18 players and made the playoffs...And with those athletes ( IF THEY CAN GET THEM OUT THERE) with that offense LC runs.. It isn't the spread...It is the SAME OFFENSE that George Quarles runs at Maryville...A Passing game deluxe....That is what one of the asst. coaches told me about the offense...and they made it work with 18 players...Give that guy some playmakers..at Ripley WILL SURPRISE in the Region...Ripley got a good coach IMO...Better than we got at Dyersburg.... /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":unsure:" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Seymour who graduated in 1995 from Haywood played at the University of Memphis...He has been coaching at Haywood for 8 years...The Offensive and Defensive lines and has been Defensive-Coordinator....He was named Haywood's new coach when Bart Stowe left to go to Dyersburg...

I am not a BIG Bart Stowe fan...He and Adam Renshaw are from the SAME coaching tree..GREAT CHRISTIAN MEN...GREAT GUYS..But Not real strict on discipline...If he succeeds at Dyersburg I will be surprised...I have had MY CHOICE I would have hired Kevin Ward from Camden..A John W.Tucker Clone if there ever was one...But I don't do the hiring so there you go... Regarding Dyer County...I live in Dyer County...And have been to a few games..( If Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy)...And My guestion is WHY DOESN'T McCORD have a TOUGHER OUT OF CONFERENCE SCHEDULE.....I mean come on ...You can SCHEDULE some tougher teams outside your district..and this district WAS WEAK... Dyersburg, Martin Westview,Ripley, Gibson County, Obion Central, Milan..Give me a break....I though Sisco wanted to play them LAST YEAR..and everybody says..SISCO was afraid...Why?..Union City was A...Dyer County was AA...If DYer County won then..hey...then they were supposed to...If Union City had won..then..huh.. Why not schedule Humboldt or Lake County during the regular season?...Think that wouldn't be a MONEY maker...They played Covington TWICE last year but didn't play them this year until the region...They played Haywood twice ...The first was a BLOWOUT...The second and third games went right down to the wire....Casey Prather gets in foul trouble only plays part of the first quarter, none of the second...5 minutes of the third and all the fourth..They cut a 20 point lead down to 2...and almost tied it up...But almost doesn't get it...Then they run into Covington who beat them...then go to BTW and get "CHEATED".... Play some of these TOUGHER teams...Wasn't there a Christmas tournament with Bolivar or Humboldt in it?...Playing TOUGHER competition during the regular season only makes you stronger come tournament time....Brownsvlle was the ONLY team that had the "ATHLETES" DC had.. That was the only team they played during the regular season that gave them fits..or at least twice...and next year...That district with the exception of Northside will be a joke...Brighton, Munford, Hardin County, and Dyer County...Play some TOUGHER teams..it will only make you better come tournament time...Same thing could be said for Humboldt...They were playing the district they were assigned to....Dyer County better get ready for next year's region...Melrose, Hamilton, Raliegh Eygpt, White Station, you think going to BTW was tough..wait until you go to those schools...That being said...DC had a great year...The kids did fine...

Yeah, that's him...When They played LC at LC..when he went in he cocked it back and WHAM...He was flying in sideways like Nate Robinson.....And those were the ONLY dunks throw down that night..I mean just some post up..BAM!...That bunch can play...Humboldt has ALWAYS had talent..Sadly they have lost a bunch to "THE CROSSING"...I know one thing...I don't know of many schools that can say they have a Gold Ball in Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball....Humboldt is one of a select few that can say that....Personally I hope they win it all...I have always admired and respected Those Vikings...Going all the way back to the days of Junior Reid...Punkin Williams and Bob Blakemore and what was the girls' player who broke all those records and took the team to the state title in 79?...She played at MTSU if I recall....Great teams and tradition at Humboldt...

I don't know about Bolivar or Liberty....But Humboldt would have kicked the slats out of Dyer County or Northside or any other team around here...Dyer County SURE didn't want to play them...Don't care what anybody says...They beat Lake County 4 times..And Lake County wasn't chopped liver..That bunch from Humboldt PLAYS ABOVE THE RIM... That dunk that guard had against Lake County where he brought it back and rocked it then threw it down...Man..people are STILL talking about that...If Humboldt gets out of West Tn...Then they should play for it all...They and Mannassas are the best two teams...Temple is a sleeper...But I don't see anybody from any other part of the state beating either one of these teams...

Don't agree with it...But you can CUSS, SCREAM.CALL THE COACHES EVERYTHING BUT A "CHILD OF GOD"...Just don't put your hands on them, spit on them on them or throw anything at them....I heard McCord was COMPLAINING ABOUT THE Covington fans screaming at him from behind the bench...."TUNE THEM OUT"...Unless they are GETTING PHYSICAL OR PUTTING THEIR HANDS ON YOU...You can't do anything...If you start ARGUING with the fans...Your team will feed off it and do the same thing...It was a GREAT GAME...But I believe I will pass on the BTW game...It's a DIFFERENT world down in the "HOOD"...

The Memphis Mid-South Coliseum is CLOSED..it has been declared unsafe...So it will be at BTW...I was thinking the last time DC played there..wasn't that the year they beat BTW when they had Andre Allen?.. I thought they scheduled the game at like 3 p.m...You know...Get in and Get out EARLY...If you DC kids go...BIG CAREFUL...You don't won't to stand up and start mouthing at that bunch...NOT THE HEY YOU SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP STUFF...That might fly around here but down in South Memphis...UH..UH... Didn't the last time DC played BTW in Memphis...didn't they schedule the game EARLY at like 3 or 4 pm..You know GET IN AND GET OUT in a hurry....Like I told some of the STUDENTS..."You don't want to go to BTW or any of those INNER-CITY schools and start MOUTHING at the OPPOSING CROWD...It's okay to cheer for your team...But this HEY YOU..SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP....Won't fly down in the "hood"....Memphis inner city schools are a WHOLE DIFFERENT ANIMAL...Just the way it is....McCord might want to take some advice I saw from Coach Glen Tackett one night at Fayette Ware....With 3 minutes left to go ....We were WINNING and the bus was Backed up to the door...RUNNING...The managers had EVERYTHING ON THE BUS...Including the players clothes....If we had won...It was RIGHT OUT THE DOOR AND GET ON THE BUS!....We ended up losing by one or two points...We still didn't stick around to CHEW THE FAT..... You DC kids...IF YOU GO....Cheer for your team...But after the game is over...SCRAM...Because if a situation occurs like I saw occur tonight....IT WON"T BE KNUCKLE CITY....Some gang banger in the stands is likely to go to his car and come back with a 9mm and SPRAY THE PLACE...Haven't heard of anybody getting shot or killed at a basketball game in years....But I wouldn't press my luck...Like the above poster said...IF you win...LEAVE...If you lose ...LEAVE....There is a big difference in being a COWARD and being a SMART MAN... According to the AD at APSU...Blake didn't make his grades and is paying HIS OWN WAY this year...He can't practice or workout with the team..He has to do that on his own...But he has four years to play this fall....

Northside's Coach is a BONEHEAD!....Not taking anything AWAY from DC..They fought and scratched....Hustled and played HARD...Northside obviously wasn't used to that kind of pressure.. But here is the thing...First quarter...Prather comes down on the fast break..and charges...FOUL #1...A little later gets FOUL #2.....I turned to the person next to me and said..."WELL..That's it for him for awhile...2 quick ones and he will be on the bench..What does the Northside coach do?....LEAVE HIM IN TO PICK UP HIS THIRD FOUL IN THE FIRST QUARTER...He missed half the first quarter...all the second quarter..ALL THE THIRD quarter and when NS got the led down to single digits or 10 at the start of the fourth...He put him back in....BAD MOVE ON THE NS coach's part...McCord out-coached him....NS never gave up.. Lots of athletes but NOT AS DISCIPLINED AS DC.... DC got the job done...And what about the follow up jam by "BIG CED"?...Somebody has lit a fire under that kid...He has been playing STRONG around the rim the last couple of games....Had a another one handed slam that was nasty...During the middle part of the season I saw them play and he wasn't going up strong around the rim...Boy he is now...Great win for DC...Should probably be them and Covington...

Best prospect since Tony Delk...IMO in this area...Willie Kemp and Wayne Chism at Bolivar Central were recruited by EVERYBODY....Trey Pearson was the BEST ALL AROUND player I have ever seen..If you needed the big shot, the big pass, the big rebound, etc...he was your man..and he was recruited by Oklahoma, Memphis, before signing with Ole Miss..got booted down there...and ended up at Murray State where he got BOOTED there...ended up at Lambuth..LOTS OF TALENT BUT NO BRAIN... Prather is a REAL D-1 prospect....Not a Mid-major prospect but a BIG-TIME talent...It will be interesting to watch him tomorrow night...

DC dodged a Haywood Bullet...Missed free throws and being out rebounded by a SMALL Haywood team almost cost them...Haywood got NUMEROUS second and third chances...And they shot the ball well from Three point land...Don't understand why the Haywood Coach RIGHT before halftime and right before the end of the game was trying to PLAY STALL BALL...That bunch from Haywood only knew one thing...RUN AND GUN...It cost them right before half and it cost them at the end of the game...But Still you gotta give it to them...DC never quit...Never gave up...But they better LEARN TO BOX OUT come Monday Night because Casey Prather is THE REAL DEAL...One of the TOP TEN JUNIORS IN THE NATION...Had something like 34 points, 10 rebounds, 8 blocks tonight....and he has a PRETTY good supporting cast I have heard too...Better get there early if you wanna see this one...It should be a DANDY...
