  1. lead off batter on first with no outs... never say never! anything is possible if you believe!
  2. I was wrong....Kirkland is on the mound for SD....not sure who started however. Score is now 18-7 Bartlett going into the bottom of the 7th.
  3. I think Brentz is pitching coach. I also think he started. I will try to find out. Score now 14 -7 Bartlett in the top of the 7th with 2 out and a runner on 3rd
  4. 13-7 Bartlett leading heading into the top of the 7th.
  5. 13-6 bottom of 6th You may not have winamp. I am techno dummy too maybe somebody can tell you how to find it...somebody gave me a link to download it but I do not remember the link now I will keep you updated best I can
  6. Hey guys show some class here... You both have fantastic programs and I enjoyed following your games this year. Don't blow it all just because one of you walked away from a game as a winner and one walked away the loser... the season was better then this and trash talking is very low class. That is baseball plain and simple... half the people there lose and half the people there win....but you all win if you keep it classy....and you all lose if you all dive into pile of manure when it's all over. Now get your chips off your shoulders and grow up and act like young men instead of kindergarten brats!
  7. You guys did a fantastic job too backr...
  8. Would love to listen to the game if someone is carrying it tonight. Found it....
  9. umm Riverdale... I am still miffed with you for picking SD over DB a week ago and now you are calling me BIG....Just when you almost climb out of the pot of hot water you plunge yourself right back in... E5...teash this man some manners.....mumbling under my breath about big...... Yes sir, I do golf every once in a while...just not during baseball season! But I ain't that BIG I tell ya! Maybe just a little undertall (5'3") for my weight!
  10. E5 I agree with you on the shade... I have always wondered why we did not design the field around a big oak tree in center.... or 2 oak trees for that matter... on ein short right center and on ein short left center.... we could give bonus points to a catch that richocheted off of a limb.... Shortstop and second baseman can now play in defensive positions that close the gaps because the tree would send those missed in that area back into the infield! They leave trees in the middle of golf courses and we have to work around them! Why not baseball fields?
  11. soft-serve in the dugout is not total revamping????
  12. You will find that I do not weasel...I say what I think, and I am pretty clear about what I think, and clear about what I say about what I think. So then lets look at the comment I made, which you felt was refering to you or your post..... Start by looking at the comment I was replying too.... I was not replying to the comment that by03 was replying too... i was merely replying to his comment alone. You are the one trying to tie my comment back to all the previous comments on this thread...If I had wanted to comment on them I would have referenced them then made made my comments about them. That is not what I did. I very clearly and specifically quoted and thereby referenced the only comment I was addressing. I spoke concerning 2 things I picked up on that came out of his comment. 1. South Doyle being a classy team. Which I believe is the same school and team you attend(ed) and support. Therefore I was supporting you and your team with my comment...which you will find I have done on numerous occasions on this board. 2. I noted that by03 who was obviously feeling that his team and a player in general on his team was being trashed and I addressed how I felt about trash talkers (as a group). Now tell us again why you felt that you personally fit that group of trashtalkers I was refering too? Were you feeling guilty for something you said earlier in this thread? There is nothing "weaselish" about what I said. I was referring to a group of people who talk trash, but obviously to us all,now is the fact that the "shoe" I was talking about fit you and therefore you took offense. Now let's discuss one more thing you felt important enough to specificall point out. The term VAIN. You obviously felt that I improperly used that term in my reply to you... vain Pronunciation: (vān), [key] —adj., -er, -est. 1. excessively proud of or concerned about one's own appearance, qualities, achievements, etc.; conceited: a vain dandy. 2. proceeding from or showing personal vanity: vain remarks. 3. ineffectual or unsuccessful; futile: a vain effort. 4. without real significance, value, or importance; baseless or worthless: vain pageantry; vain display. 5. Archaic.senseless or foolish. 6. in vain, a. without effect or avail; to no purpose: to apologize in vain. b. in an improper or irreverent manner: to take God's name in vain. So to sum this all up, you jumped in and voluntarily placed yourself in my unidentified group of "trashtalkers". Defending your self when you were not attacked is pointless...so you felt attacked, therefore it is safe for us all to assume that you ARE GUILTY of trashtalking. Now who was it again that said you fit my description of trash talkers ????? Why that, kind and gentle sir, was you yourself. Not another person on this thread called you a trash talker...you identified yourself as one for all here to see and take notice...that is vainity, further defined within it's own definition as conciet. You are not only self conceited but by your own admission a trashing talking punk. In my book that makes you beetle dung on the bottom of the pile. Now come on back and call me a weasle again displaying for us all another fine example your ignorant and vain arrogance.
  13. Question for E5 When your team is not playing and you go to "scout" the competition do you carry a sling type lawn chair, a simple bleacher pad without a back... a bleacher chair with a back (no legs just sits up on the bleacher and can be converted into a rocker if you don't flip the little metal clip/hook down on the bleacher....heck sit it on the top and don't hook it and it could become a rocker launcher!!!) Or do you just take your bucket??? I am thinking about getting a bucket too but a 5 gallon one might be too tall.... of course with a bucket I could bring in all my stuff in the bucket including a little roudn throw pillow to put on the bottom for a cushion when I flip it into the seating position! If I do this should I have a walmart bag to hold all my stuff that I toted to the field inside the bucket or just dump my stuff out on the ground?? I know these are some tough questions but I really need some help making a decision on the best chair/bucket. I am 5'3" so I suspect that I will face the same leg problem you have...but I am thinking I could add a brick to my bucket and use that to put my feet on when I flip the bucket over???? What think ye?
  14. Congratulations Bartlett and good luck tomorrow.
  15. You must have thought I was talking about you????? Now if that is not vain I will never know what is. For the record, I was talking about the low classed, trashy mouthed people that get on here and run players and teams down. Now tell me does that really sound like you?
  16. Now that's a good idea!!! I have a newspaper clipping from about 4 years ago now where an EX Little League President says the biggest problem came when we raised money and put expensive uniforms and expensive bats and expensive (name your piece of equipment here)...... on the kids and started playing vicariously through them.... If we took a handfull of plain no numbered muscle shirts ( 2 colors) and a 1 maybe 2 baseballs out to the fields in a box and throw it all in the middle of the field the day after school lets out for the summer. Mow the field for them when the grass gets knee high. Those kids would make the teams as fair (no draft by the parent/coach is needed to keep it all fair.) They would play a fun game of ball with very little arguing...and what little arguing does happen teaches negiotating skills they can use the rest of their lives! Let them call their own games...tust me one team is not going to cheat another team either with strikes and balls or on the basepads! I know this method works well because I played ball all summer this way and had a grand old time! I am 46...so I can identify with you neckerson.... Commercialization, with sponsors and all the hoopla is what is ruining this game we all love so much.
  17. They were suppose to start at 4:00pm at MTSU.
  18. SD has very classy players, parents and fans in general. DB played them in 4 games this year... I saw nothing but class at all the games we had with SD. There is always a rotten apple in every bushel basket and I suspect it is the bad apples that tend to be the ones who jump behind a nicname on boards such as this and trash everyone they can find. I pity them because they are actually the misfits in school and life in general. They just don't fit in for one reason or another. They feel safe enough in here to lash out at everyone who has what they wish they had. I am glad they have one place they feel safe. I just wish they could learn how to behave when around other people. Character is what you are when no one is looking (or we might add when no one knows who you are!)
  19. And it is only the bad ones that we fuss about.... Take motorcycle drivers that weave in and out of traffic trying to pick up 4 car lengths on you before the next light... how many good safe motorcycle drivers do you know?????? Plenty of them.....but let one weave through traffic causing you to hit your brakes to let him in and out of your lane and see if you don't call "motorcycle drivers" a bunch of jerks that never learned how to behave in traffic. We all know that there are more good umpires then bad ones...but that knowledge does not make it any less frustrating when you're standing with a bat in your hand in the 5th inning still wondering if 6 inces off the plate is a strike or a ball....batter can adjust and do so frequently...but if you keep them guessing and thus make them have to swing at everything that crosses the plate then you have created a very unhappy group of players...and I have seen BOTH teams upset in the same game...that is an umpire that is not trying to help one team with his strike zone but is frustrating both teams at the same time. The theme I see in every thread about umpires always comes back to the strike zone and consistency. (I follow out of state High school baseball as well...and will gladly bring a couple of other states threads on umpires over here for you guys to see if you want...they all come back to the same thing...consistency behind that plate.) I seldom see a game get "boisterous" where the strike zone is consistent. If you want to keep the crowd of fans off your back then get a consistent strike zone...high, low, outside, big, small, anything you want it to be.... as long as it's consistent you will hear a lot less crowd noise. Respect is given to the umpire who is consistent...at least he appears to know what he is doing! Even when fan's disagree with a strikezone if it is consistent then the respect will still be there. But if the guy in blue cannot make his mind up on strikes and balls behind the plate then evey close call he makes will be suspect.... Consistent Consistent Consistent
  20. lol at backr... now put your stick down and quit stirring the pot!
  21. I am in full agreement with you on this one MPTigerT. Y, I even think Riverdaleman would be fair if he were calling his "home boys" game! Of course I am still a little miffed at him for picking SD over DB in the regionals.....
  22. I've said it a hundred times... a close call on a bag, that one team loved and the other thought was blown, is no where near as frustrating as that moving teacup behind the plate.
  23. Is that station on the internet by chance...a few of us Mustang fans live a little out of ear shot of the local station. Would love to listen to the game.
  24. Lawsuit???? How on God's little green earth did someone miss an opportunity like that? I mean they throw toenails in Wendy's chili and sue for that.... they sue over the temperature of the coffee at McDonalds..... Somebody needs to step up to the plate on this one!
