  1. Heard down south of Nashvegas, there's a Brentwood girl that ptiched several games early and had a 0.00 ERA. I think she's the younger sister of one of their senior pitchers. Anybody know who she is?
  2. Seems that Riverdale may have been well served by cancelling as previously planned, but all the girls are doing their best and remember it's a team game, not a pitcher's game anyway. There have been lots of teams in the past that have beaten pretty decent pitchers with a combination of good coaching and instinctive base running. And remember, there are thousands of ways to create a run or prevent one in the short base path game. It's really a great sport. Let the run for state begin!
  3. Looks like the Brentwood and St. Benedict girls took the trophies. Yep, both apparently won based on an agreed No Contest finish --- both wanted just to go home at an unreal hour of the night and didn't play the last game in double elimination ---- GREAT GAMES for BOTH teams I heard! Heard that one of the Brentwood pitchers was felling pretty sick and they lost their first game to a Tennessee team this season, but came back to beat St. Benedict in the first championship game.
  4. Probably the girl named Mason from Mt. Juliet who has 15 now after hitting two HRs off Cat Hosfield of Riverdale tonight. Oddly, she is leadoff for Mt. Juliet

    Grand slams

Brentwood girl was Amy Buntin who hit the grand slam I think. But she wasn't really "Buntin", she was "Hittin"! Get it?
  6. Interestingly, this is where the "I told you so" part comes in, I think. Whoever said that Hendersonville was a favorite in the tournament must have been talkig to some serious softball people, NOT those who just favored this team. You make a mistake anyway, when you slam a team that has just as respected a tradition as your favorite team --- Who knows? Maybe that fires them up a little. I noticed that the "other" teams mentioned as strong teams did not make it to the semis. Bad luck? I don't think so. Good ball by H'ville and H'town of Alabama! Congrats to ALL the teams that did their best in the tournament!
  7. Yes, but serious versatility (short and long game) and familiarity with other top teams is a plus for Beech. Look out!
  8. I know of another top flight team from Alabama interested in the Brentwood tournament. Any info?
  9. They can't be serious about that. Must be out of the loop.
