  1. I am also posting this on the HS Softball board because Taylor Filorimo is a rising sophomore on the Riverdale softball team. Thx, Weave 2nd Annual Play for Tay Benefit Tournament August 27-28, 2011 Memorial Park, Lavergne, Tennessee Ages 8U-18U Format: Two pool, double elimination Cost: 10U-18U, $250; 8U, $125 This will be an ASA sanctioned event using ASA modified rules and certified umpires. Game balls will not be provided. Team trophies will be award for 1st & 2nd place, 1st place team players will receive PLAY FOR TAY CHAMPIONS T-shirts. In August of 2009 Taylor Filorimo was diagnosed with a rare form of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). As of December 29, 2009, her scans showed the cancer had spread to the right lung. They ultimately removed three tumors and 5% of the lung. It is now metastatic renel cell carcinoma papillary Type 2 with cancer in both lungs. She is undergoing treatments in Washington, D.C. and is the youngest known patient with this type of cancer. Tay’s philosophy on her diagnosis: “I will not let the fear of cancer strike me out.†All proceeds from tournament will go to Tay and the Filorimo family. Also, if you are in Southern Middle Tennessee, I will be tweeting updates at: http://twitter.com/FriNightThunder Follow and share!

  9. Congratulations to the Lady Cats of Lawrence County, Tennessee for winning the 8th Annual Lady Warrior Southern Classic with a 4 and 0 record. Allen County, Kentucky finishes 2nd in the "standings" which are located on our website at http://www.riverdalesoftball.com Special thanks to the host schools who provided top notch facilities to 43 teams from 6 states and 114 games played with only 8 games rained out(9:00 AM Saturday session). Our out-of-state visitors were particularly impressed with the quality of the competition AND fields in the middle Tennessee area. Kudos all! Plans for the 2011 Classic have already begun.......
  10. The 9:00 AM games are CANCELLED today for the Lady Warrior Southern Classic. Most fields were tarped last night, so the rest of the day's schedule looks probable. The plan is to resume the schedule at 11:00 AM, with the possibility for slight delays at each individual field. Updates will be posted at www.riverdalesoftball.com
  11. Cornersville stepped up and helped us out. Thanks!
  12. The team from Fayetteville, West Virginia has backed out of our tournament THIS MORNING! 14. I thank you for the compliment, but I agree with your selections(of course the order is subjective). LC/CC/WC/Cookeville are really nice and I have been fortunate to play on them several times. I like our place and we have improved in the last 3 years. I am guessing that you have not been here since our "hitting area" became an indoor hitting facility AND we added a roadway to the building to open up some parking. But......unless I miss my guess, I am thinking that you are on our schedule this year and should pay us a visit soon......... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Comment?
  15. Oops Mr. Noitall............looks like your batting average is gonna fall........We DO have sump pumps in each dugout. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> In fact, the dugouts were built with sump pumps. If you have visited us, we have hidden the sump pump in the visitors dugout in the equipment room. Sorry, but I had to correct you..... Dennis Weaver Riverdale softball
