What's up at Cloudland?

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY, have we sat around and let Ned Smith slip through our fingers?!?!?!?! It's no wonder we're loosing every good b-ball player to the county schools! We are getting exactly what we deserve! I don't blame the kids for leaving! With Unaka's deep basketball tradition, And now their football on the rise, Cloudland"s b-ball has spoke for it's self the last two years, Hampton's football program one of the top 15 in the state and now the hireing of Jerry White who knows, all I can say is with all these quality canidates sitting around it's our fault!!!!!

My sources tell me it's still Brandon Carpender from Cloudland. Would be a great hire. I think Ned Smith is staying on the Roan, good b-ball class in the 8th grade.(if they don't get hurt in football) E-Town missed the boat on this one, BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!

Maby it's time to get educated about Oliver and Hazelwood. Folks, former players, parents of former players, asst. coaches ,head coaches, ect.....anyone who has had contact with these two coaches(in terms of basketball) please step up and inform the public,PLEASE!!!!! Tell us WHY/WHY NOT this is not the best hire for Betsy.

I think McClains resignation/dismissal was more of moral thing or lack there of, not his record. What are the odds of Oliver/Hazlewood at Betsy?Their past behaviors are clean, or at least to the best of my knowledge. Info on these two please, (not a witch hunt please) we just don't want to make the same mistake as Hampton. Again ,as far as I know there both ok.

From what I've been told Wilson will not have a say in the matter, and this is comming from the top and thats as far as I can go with that. With that being said. WHO? Ned Smith-Took Cloudland to the top.Was it coaching ability or lack of competion? never really showed much at state level. Carpenter-Alot of people think he is the reason for Cloudlands recent success, the program really improved upon his arival? Kelly Oliver & Bud Hazlewood,THIS MAY BE JUST THE ANSWER WE'R LOOKING FOR!! Think about it Kelly Played here,has had success every where he's been,Hampton J.R. High(football), Hampton girls b-ball(state) and anybody that knows anybody KNOWS BUDDY KNOWS HIS B-BALL!!!!! BUT WE BETTER ACT FAST before we loose the chance to hire them!!!! In closing I think all of the above would be good choices. I just think Kelly and Buddy would fit in better at BETSY.

Ned will be at Elizabethton, Carpenter will be at University School, Oliver will be the new coach at Cloudland(along with Buddy,WOW!!! what a staff),Hamption needs to go outside the system and make a hire,would be better for everyone including the kids.

When will this all be public knowledge? Sounds like a solid move all the way around to me. Oliver at Cloudland, I think it will be a great fit! I look for Buddy to be Olivers first hire though. That combo could give the conf. fitts, quite possibly could be the best coaches in the conf! I know for a fact that Buddy taught Ned alot about the game. I know that Oliver is responsible for the good players that Hampton has, he coached them in Jr High. YES YES YES it was football but who can argue the results!!!!!!! Kelly and Buddy ,Cloudland basketball will be just fine!!!!![i WISH IT STARTED TOMORROW]

AS stated by someone earlier, bo you want a babby sitter or a coach. I agree with benchwarmer, hire the football guy!

If Lunsford gets the job: He will coach next year for junior's senior season and then he will probably go back to NC to coach football. Hampton will be in the same situation next year looking for a basketball coach. Just my humble opinion!
