YOU people can’t let it go…Derrick is living rent free in your heads. Would you like to talk about a couple parents dancing on the P at midfield while lining off the football field laughing because they had achieved their goal of using the field, but you all claim to support all athletics. No one is talking bad about the girls everyone is proud of their accomplishments and it was a great season. As for the small group of parents being an embarrassment that is 100% correct. I find it repulsive to see grown men and women screaming and yelling at opposing teams’ kids and in some instances making fun of their physical appearance and athletic performance on the field. I was there to see this happen numerous times and parents yelling at the opposing student body and fans who were there to support their team just like ours is nothing to be proud of yet some of these men would give each other high fives and laugh. I saw firsthand when an opposing player tried to kick a rolling ball and missed these same dads laughed and made fun of her. Charlie Murphy was thrown out of a game along with a member of the central office staff who was mentioned earlier in another post, and it was sickening! Our very own Charlie Murphy then asks the principal (game administrator) if he can go down to the field and have his say to the officials since he was being removed. I believe it was during this same game where these same parents were heckling a girl on the other team and Polk’s coach who was standing outside the fence with her two small children had to turn to some of the fans and tell them to not get personal. These are a small number of our fans, but it makes ALL of Polk athletics and fans look terrible. What narcissistic dad would go raise money for the soccer team that his daughter plays on then demand that his family’s hotel room be paid for out of these donations? Wonder if all the people that contributed would have done so if they knew some of their money was being spent on this guy’s hotel room. I won’t mention names, it was actually two different parents, but this is TRUE it happened sadly enough!! PCPeasant, let’s clear up a false claim in your first ever post which gave me a headache trying to read. Last year’s soccer team had a great year, and everyone is very proud of them but they are not the most successful team since '83. In 1986 Polk baseball went to the final four and got beat by Unicoi County on a 7th inning home run at Cleveland State. Did they get a banner? I also don’t remember seeing one parent rush the field to celebrate making it to the final four they waited on Coach Dixon to meet with players and then congratulate the kids when they came out from the dugout and left the field. In 2011 no parents rushed the field when baseball went to the state. I’m shocked that your referring to these girls as peasants and they were treated as second class citizens. This is a lie that you and others are trying to get people to believe. Even though these girls played on the practice field it was better than what football and baseball played on for many years. The football field was redone after the 1986 season and baseball played at the show barn and eventually in the early 90’s moved to the middle school field both of which is terrible. Rocks were everywhere, and the outfield had clumps of grass that players turned their ankles on and we can’t forget the Kudzu in right field where balls would get lost if it wasn’t mowed. Also, little league football used this field to practice and the fair was held there every year. You say we should celebrate all sports success if so then why are some of these parents so happy to see football fail and make no mistake losing Coach Davis is not a win for our sports program or community and neither is hiring unqualified coaches to coach sports they don’t know anything about. Your bright candle looks more like a torch and Coach Davis was tied to the stake. He is gone now, and this small group of parents are still making up usernames on football forums to keep fanning the flames their torch lit!! The only way we can be successful is to stand together for the future of all Polk athletics and demand that coaches are hired based on achievement and knowledge of the game they are coaching. Congratulation to the 2018 PCHS girls soccer team and coaches you are all winners in my book!

Charles you get on a message board and criticize Coach Davis' character as a human being then when someone takes you to task you try and take the high road and say "I'm not going to start detailing things on a message board". BTW they make medication for your condition!!

County champs are you kidding me? Anyone that would put being county champs on this board is hilarious....Monroe County is not Cobb County, GA.

You need to look at some of these teams schedules and who they have played before you start giving your analysis. Playing a weak schedule and putting up good numbers does not necessarily make a team good. The same can be said about their pitchers and hitters!

What do you really know about some of these teams other than some made it last year?

Sequoyah won. Polk plays Red Bank and Sequoyah plays EH.

I found no humor in it even when we were up and wouldn't have even if we had won. Your best friend is shall I say a liar! Isn't all good defensive schemes on a offense like CAK's is to get to the QB and not give him time to pick you apart? Funny that you people are the only ones who have said this about Polk and my nephew all year...I guess we have different views of how football is to be played. Maybe we should have put flags on your receivers and a yellow jersey on your QB! All I saw from Polk was kids playing their heart out and giving 110% on every play.

I was at the game and listening to 96.3. I know CAK has no control over the radio announcers but let me say they were absolutely horrendous and a embarrassment to a christian radio station. The announcers continuously called Polk "Loudon", "Loudon Wildcats", "Polk Loudon County" while laughing and before the game commenting that our mascot looked like a "rabid squirrel". They also continuously said Polk players were taking cheap shots on CAK players mainly my nephew #12 and he was trying to hurt someone and that a lot of hits should be flagged for helmet to helmet this went on all night. The worst was at the end of the game when the official called timeout because a chin strap had come off and was on the field the announcer said when asked by the other what was on the field his comment was "Its a shank that one of the Polk players has been hiding in his pants all night". Again I know CAK has no control over this but it was very classless IMO! As for officiating all I will say is even the CAK PA announcer made a comment in the booth about how bad the officiating crew was and how bad they were at spotting the ball. A comment from a fan "it looks like Polk is playing with first and eleven and CAK is playing first and nine on every possession. BTW I'm not saying this is why Polk lost but just commenting on how bad the crew really was for those that didn't make it. I was very impressed with CAK's offense great receivers and O-line, they protected the QB great even though they could have been some missed holding calls. As for Polk I will say great game on both sides of the ball and what a great ride it has been with this group of young men. I'm proud of all of you for your hard work and dedication to Polk football. OK football's over let's go take some BP and Fungo's its time for some Baseball!!!

Polk didn't get cocky or take Loudon lightly, we just ran into a team that was bigger and more physical on the both sides of the ball. Our kids played hard but our O line and D line couldn't match up, #55 was in our backfield all night as well as a few others. Ok, let the bashing begin, I made the same comments last year after the loss and some of you took it personal. I'm not bashing the lineman but sometimes you run into teams that are better and physically you just can't match up with. Hope everyone is healthy after this game against Meigs and ready for the first round game.

I never visit the 1A boards except for this game and I knew that TSSAA did the brackets different. However, you don't really know what your talking about when it comes to 3A and Polk County. All you know is how many gold or silver balls a team has. Are you SP's designated ball washer? As for my numerology do you know what it stand for or are you clueless?

I'm not trying to stir the pot but IIRC Terrell threw 2 interceptions in the Polk game last year.

The Polk team played fantastic tonight everyone done a great job. I'm proud for the whole group of young men. Good luck to Pirates in the playoffs hope you guy's win it all. How are we compared to Signal now that some of you SP fans have seen us both?

Just admit SP got manhandled tonight. So does 4th down conversions matter..18 first downs for Polk. SP only had 4 first downs the first half.

Funny, I haven't seen Coach Davis score one TD tonight. The players have played great. Love seeing the clock run for the last eight minutes.
