I will say the better team won tonight. Loudon's line beat us on both sides of the ball period and they were the difference not the QB. As far as your QB being more impact. If you put Allen behind that line he would be the best hands down. It didn't help that our running back and starting linebacker went out on the second play with a hurt ankle which changed the whole game plan.

I agree this team has a great bunch of kids that play extremely hard. Good luck to the Chargers as well!

I really don't think Polk is scared of playing anyone.....but do me a favor and please start the negative comments about this team they seem to feed off it!

Good post! I don't think I will ever forget #71 for Polk jogging back about 15 yards to help T-Rob get up just seeing the difference in stature of those two cracked me up. Too funny! Great bunch of kids on both sides.

I would like to comment on South Pitts. #54. I watched this kid all night and I would have to say that he gave it his all. Polk's O-line was all over him and he hung in there and played his heart out, he is not the biggest or most athletic but he is a winner in my book. After reading his story and hearing about his post-game comments to the Polk team this kid is a class act. I wish him and the rest of the team the best of luck!

Geno, First let me say that my comments are for only a few and not you. I have not commented all week while some of your faithful have talked about our team and how bad they were going to get beat. Slow Polks and Polk Slugs were a couple of comments made. I do agree you have not made any comments that fueled the fire so to speak but the fact that you Pirate fans just can't say we got beat and yes it could have been worse if the TD does not get called back SP would have been down 34-0 in the 3rd quarter but oh well that's the way it goes. Some of you Pirate fans want a asterisk placed by the game so that everyone knows SP won the 4th quarter! Your right it takes 4 quarters to win and we did just that, played hard for 4 quarters. Like I said earlier T-Rob is a great QB and your team if he stay's healthy should be coming home with another title. Best of luck Geno we are pulling for you guy's to win it!

Your great defense could not stop Polk until the 4th and what happened to that unbelievable offense the first half! Just say we got spanked and this will be over, quit saying if we had done this or that in the first half we would have won...well guess what you didn't. If you take away T-Rob you guys might not...no you would not have scored!

We just have confidence in our team just as most fans do. Polk County played well and I think we definitely underestimated them. Eating crow is when you get beat down....our boys came out in the second half and almost won the game. Confidence and arrogance is not the same! Let's see you almost won but yet earlier you were going to "PIRATE rule" us and I think your prediction was at least a 3-4 TD win?

I normally would try and comment on a few remarks some of you made but due to the number of the obnoxious and idiotic post I cannot cover them all. The truth is Polk came out and shoved it down your throat for 3 quarters and the score could have been 34-0 but the one TD was called back. I also noticed that the "SLOW POLKS" outran some of the Pirates on three of the touchdowns and the one that was called back was for about 40yds. from our QB (who by the 3rd quarter was suppose to be wishing he was still on the bus) not too bad for "Polk SLUGS"! What I didn't notice was the Speedway or the sounds of those F16's you know the ones that fly bye and you never see...come to think of it I never saw any black and orange jersey's come racing by either. YOUR evaluation is wrong. If this game was played over Polk would still win, our defense shut Central down. IIRC Central had 68yds rushing the second half and 42 yds was on the last series when the 2nd team was playing. As far as Jack's article goes I just laughed, he is going to say whatever will make you Kool Aid drinkers feel better about getting your tails handed to you...maybe he had a little nip of whatever was in your sippy cup, he probably had mowed yards all day and was quite thirsty or even dehydrated! I watched the game twice and the call's were right so suck it up and admit Central got spanked. Coach Goodin even said the ref's had nothing to do with the outcome we just got out played...but according to you the coach is wrong and Jack and the Blue Kool Aid Gang is right! I watched the dvd of the game with my nephew (whom played absolutely great) and the penalties were obvious, the only one I questioned was roughing the passer but it was close. I read the article in the DPA and it strongly suggested mysterious penalties and the bad clock management resulted in Central's downfall...not much credit given to Polk. I watched the questionable swing pass and the receiver was clearly behind the line 3-4yds. The ref's actually done a good job if you watch the game and replay the calls in question! 5chargerfans, another Blue Kool Aid drinker has spoken. Your not slamming the Polk boys but your saying they didn't win fair and square? Polk-49 McMinn Central-12... What game were you watching, you must have spiked your Kool Aid or had some very blue tinted glasses! You couldn't hear the PA system because the Polk fan's were cheering too loud.

I didn't mean they didn't count ,I just don't remember their record during this time. I hope Central fan's do not get down on Coach Goodin, he will do a fine job! I like the way he corrected the radio crew by saying "the ref's did not have anything to do with them getting beat, the loss was his fault he didn't have them prepared and Polk done a great job". IMHO, I really feel he has some kids that needed this loss, let's face it their ego's far exceeded their talent. I am not saying they aren't good but they have not faced adversity like they did Friday in over 2yrs. and that's when you separate the kid's with heart versus the front runners!

Sorry to hear that...thought's and prayers sent. I saw them take him off the field but never heard anything about him. I am picking Polk. As for the score I have a couple of guesses but I will keep them to myself they both depend on certain things happening. Just remember last year I said Central would most likely win...and they should have but this Polk team is much better than last year and Central is not the same team not even close IMO! Nothing toward the Central's coach's, they are much better off with this coaching staff.
