1. next year looks like more of the same in DII. McCallie will definelty win another state title with the addition of MBA's Roger Briggs, look for Baylor to replace Webb again in the team competition. What about other divisions?

  2. QUOTE(Harris @ May 26 2007 - 10:36 AM) 826467499I'm speaking as an excuse to why he lost this year.

He wouldnt have beaten parks without cramps. Heck he pushed parks to a 7-5 first set then in the second he was done. No excuses, he tried hard and played fine.

  3. QUOTE(10sstar @ May 20 2007 - 08:40 PM) 826463762Excuse me but Smith won district and/or regions already 2 years. That means he played h.s. as an 8th grader. Check TSSAA rules for TN. He will be ineligible to play tennis his senior year.

that's the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Berkely Brock played 8th grade year and played all 4 years of high school, as will megan conley.

  4. QUOTE(10sstar @ May 18 2007 - 09:16 PM) 826462432No, Chris Smith will not be in the finals. It will be Wishing vs. Chadwell again.

    Wilkinson/ Greer vs. Hayes/ Edwards

    Science Hill vs. Siegel

yea chadwell will take singles, greer and wilkinson dubs and siegel team.

  5. QUOTE(tennisplaya @ May 12 2007 - 09:39 PM) 826458248It would have been fun to see Bo Seal take on Tyler Davis had Baylor make sub-state. Now that would have been an exciting match

yea but they can still duke it out in the individuals. DII individuals are murderous. Lang or Davis could beat Bo, but they play first round.... quite unfortunate that occurred.

  6. QUOTE(nation_supp89 @ May 10 2007 - 06:13 PM) 826456735Siegel wins region today 4-0 over tullahoma, only dropped three games total. How are all of the other region tournaments turning out? Region 4 individual matches begin next monday

wow, sounds like a tough region. McCallie beat webb 4-1 to win regions. Im sure MBA and MUS rolled as well.

  7. QUOTE(limey107 @ May 8 2007 - 11:15 AM) 826454438rumor is william lang is out for the rest of the season as well as summer with an injury, so he might not have a showing at state. however, with that in play, will TSSAA let MUS move their lineup up one spot (against the rules--since you have to play a certain number of matches at that spot during the regular season to play it) or will they have to pull what they did at the carter, and put their 6 at one? either way, that hurts them big time.

yea, can we get some conformation on this injury? what kind of injury was it? that would be huge for both webb AND McCallie in their run for a state title.

  8. QUOTE(Harris @ May 6 2007 - 01:16 PM) 826452917You have no reason not to. Your not going to get any state championship for Tennessee players only. There isn't some alternative state championship for that. It's like Economics, why not exploit the opportunity that is there when the others will exploit this opportunity. The only one who loses is you. They will continue to do so until you affect them and take your slice of the pie. That is an advantage afforded to you by being in division 2. If you don't use it, its on you.

We dont have dorm rooms to house them up, we cant just stick them in someone's house. It's a bigger testament to what webb has done with nothing but Knoxville players.

  9. this is ridiculous.... we beat baylor, and you all still find excuses for them losing. what else do you want us to do? i mean, last year crist played one the entire year, and parks and rotated at 2-3. so i guess whenever hatcher played one, parks 2, and crist 3 webb was stacking? All 3 are interchangable. We beat them, just give us some credit for god's sake.

QUOTE(Tennessee3 @ May 6 2007 - 11:46 AM) 826452863Webb STACKED and does not deserve to be at state! I think more people would be congratulating Webb if anybody actually liked anyone on their tennis team.

im sorry who are you again?

QUOTE(limey107 @ May 6 2007 - 12:08 PM) 826452875I agree. Plus, put Jimmy Epps in the lineup at 5, and he wins easily and Baylor is going to state. Bad circumstances and it's a pity Baylor lost. They deserve to be in the state semis.

If epps could barely walk, how would he be expected to "win easily" against webb. Just a little bitter that Webb won i guess

  10. QUOTE(Harris @ May 5 2007 - 11:30 PM) 826452718no way, you serious? /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> wow didn't know that one

wow, your stupid. how did you not know that

  11. I don't think McCallie is stacking, everyone they have is solid. Playing with the lineup "that gives you the best chance to win"...so you basically just admitted that you stacked. Congrats

Respect, Webb4, is earned, not given. You earned Baylor's respect by beating them. The way Lourenco has played lately, I'm not as surprised that WAlling beat him so bad. Good luck in state

[/ that's exactly what we did, put out the best lineup that gave us the chance to win. We won.... I dont see why you think we stacked. What positions do you think we stacked at?

  12. McCallie def Baylor 4-3

    Bo def Harris

    Julian def McLemore

    Henry def Kane

    Wes def Epps

    Tariq def Orlando

Bo and Tanz won to make it 3-3, but Wes and David were able to win at 2 doubles to give McCallie the win.

    Webb def Baylor 4-3

    Bo def Hatcher

    Parks def Julian

    Kane def Crist

    Walling def Orlando

    Haydek def Wallace

    Kane/Seal def Hatcher/Crist

and at 3-3, walling/parks def julian/orlando 9-8(4) for the first win over Baylor in Webb School history, and in the process knocking Baylor out of the running for state.

  13. QUOTE(dawgs2 @ May 5 2007 - 08:24 AM) 826452328Yea i feel terrible for Baylor, they have a real rough go of it. I havent been able to sleep for 2 days, thinking about all the facilities they have and the players they can pull from everywhere. Those guys really have bad luck

Haha agreed. Nothing pleased me more than to watch walling and parks shut the obnoxious Baylor crowd up. I would have paid money to see the look on the entire crowd's faces when julian and orlando lost that match, and baylor lost all hope of going to state.

  14. QUOTE(Harris @ May 4 2007 - 02:53 PM) 826451856Say, your not...paranoid and looking into absolutely nothing are you? Or is he just not allowed to ask anything and just say "OMG YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME CONGRATS".

Surprising win, the orlando match is the shocking one. good job.

And by good job I mean congrats, not you guys don't deserve it and I'm taking away from your victory and we aren't giving you the respect you deserve, just to clear that up and save you a reply.

considering that nobody on this website but the people who go to webb gave us a chance we get the right to gloat a little bit and say "we told you so." this by no means means that were going to win state or even beat McCallie so well throw all that crap out the window. To answer your question about the lineup, we put out the lineup that we thought would give us the best chance to win, and ill be, we did just that. I haven't heard from the person that said webb wouldnt win a match.... guess we actually walked the walk this time gentlemen. all we want is a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t. Now what the heck was up with McCallie's lineup vs. Baylor?

    1. Alex Harris

    2. McLemore

    3. Henry

    4. Wes

    5. Tariq

My turn to ask questions.... WHAT THE heck IS UP WITH THIS? Why was Epps playing 4 versus Wes? Why is Tariq still playing 5? And why is wes playing behind McLemore AND Henry????????

  15. QUOTE(limey107 @ May 4 2007 - 12:47 PM) 826451753Jimmy had blisters on his foot from playing Wes the day before. It was a bad idea to schedule back to back region matches against both McCallie and Webb, and it seems they're paying the consequences for it. I feel bad for Baylor though. It has been a rough week.

Jimmy was playing wes in the region match vs McCallie???

  16. QUOTE(nation_supp89 @ May 3 2007 - 08:20 PM) 826451228Wow, surprising victory, is this one the one that counts?

Quick question why was Hatcher playing 1 and Parks playing 2? The one that surprises me is Walling over Lourenco. WHy didn't Jimmy Epps play?

Gah, this is just typical of Siegal. I can't believe that you are trying to take away from our win here. Webb just can't prove anything to you all.
