  1. I think what they could do is split the West into 2 districts, I don't really see an advantage to having only one and do see the drawbacks.
  2. QUOTE (RedUp @ Oct 22 2008 - 08:29 PM) My guess-2 regions West and East West 2 districts JCS, USJ, Rossville, Fayette, FACS, St George SBEC, Bp Byrne, Harding, ECS, T-R East 2 districts Webb, DA, MJCS, Lancaster, Zion DCA, FRA, Riverside, SAS, Ezell That would make sense except it would be tough for both divisions with that many teams. Seems like they would have to split it up even further. Maybe 4 divisions instead of 2. I think I misread above. So you're talking about 4 districts? With maybe the top 2 teams from each district advancing. I think that would work, at least for the West.
  3. Not sure about perfectly, 10 region games with no off games seems a bit much to me. I don't think any of the 11 West teams would have problems scheduling non-region games without extensive travel, they've been doing it for a while. Not sure about the Mid/East teams though.

  5. MBA, BA and McCallie are in DII AA division, ECS and Webb will be in DII A division, other than scheduling off games, why would they be playing anyway?
  6. The recipe is certainly there for a blowout based on your accurate analysis.
  7. I hear ya. You're probably right, most of it's based on the Briarcrest game. Let's hope our defense does a better job. Unfortunately, I'm expecting a loss, but I would be suprised by a blowout. Man, the CBHS game was a defensive struggle for sure, both Offenses looked weak.
  8. Ben Todd was named interim, (for at least the upcoming season). He's been an assistant under Heinz the last two years.
  9. Man, two predicted a MUS blowout over ECS. Where's the love???
  10. New coach for SBEC is Ryan Porter, he came from ECS.
  11. The only problem with that is you probably have more males than some of the other D11 AA schools like Briarcrest who only has 567 total students. I don't know their breakdown, but if 50% of the students are male, you have them beat. Plus, MUS only has 414 males so you're not far behind them.
  12. Thanks for the welcome. Also, thanks for the compliments on ECS, we do have great leadership. I too was surprised where they drew the line. I'm also surprised we're not playing up, but the position taken by our leaders is that we have always played where we were classified. I'm sad in that my son graduates this year so I won't have a "vested" interest going forward but I will still attend games and root for ECS. Should be interesting. This conference is definitely on the uprise, teams like St. George's and SBEC seem to be on the way up. By the way, have you had a chance to meet your new baseball coach? He's a good guy.
  13. Done by 8:45, wow! I agree with the score, but I think that's a little short on time.
  14. I take that back, FRA is Franklin Road Academy. When you look at the link on the front page of CoachT, it doesn't include Fayette Academy for some reason, but if you go to TSSAA.org, they do show Fayette Academy. That's why I couldn't come up with 9. I guess CoachT just missed Fayette Academy.
  15. Ok, I wasn't picking up Fayette Academy. That must be the FRA listed, wasn't sure what that was.
  16. That's a good question. By the way, I only count 8 Memphis area teams?
  17. Sorry about that, I went back and saw it so i deleted my post.
  18. Actually, ECS has always played in the classification in which they were placed. They have historically played some schools classed above them such as CBHS, MUS and Briarcrest but they have always chosen to stay in the classification that TSSAA places them. However, I wish we would choose to play up in this case, but the powers to be chose not to.
  19. KWC, wish I could say the same thing about our game (ECS vs CBHS). Both teams struggled all night to get the offense going. Both teams ended up with right at 200 yds total offense, most of ours rushing and most of CBHS's passing. We mounted a drive in the closing minutes only to have a holding penalty push us back and ruin our chances of a score. CBHS really struggled with their rushing offense, only had 40+ yards. Their backs don't seem to hit the line of scrimmage very hard. Honestly their passing game didn't seem all that strong, pass defense is our weakness. Although I do believe both of their QB's are nursing injuries of some sort. We struggled with the passing game. Had a few dropped passes, but CBHS does have a good pass rush that had our young QB scrambling all night. He has tremendous speed, but so does CBHS at DE and LB'rs that contained him most of the night. Oh well, we now must win 1 of the last 2 to advance. Looks like our best/only chance will be Briarcrest.
  20. Thanks for the explanation. So that discredits the earlier comment that ECS must win out or be eliminated, which I didn't think was the case.
  21. How would the tie breaker in the west be determined if ECS loses to MUS and beats BCS, and CBHS beats SB. That would leave ECS, CBHS and BCS all at 2-2.
  22. got that one. Also missed ECS vs. CBHS. It was a tough fought game. We didn't have any offense the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Plus they exploited our weak pass defense. Ended up being the difference, final 10-3.
  23. I was just thinking the same thing, KWC. This is no doubt a sad turn of events for him, hope things turn out ok for him.
