  1. I am having a hard time understanding what you are trying to do. Why in the world are you throwing in the towel? Are you an adult? A post like this sounds a bit childish. Am I missing something? Isn't Seymour 3-1? The only team that they have lost to is Maryville, and Maryville is a quality side. I am sure Coach Norwood @ Seymour would be a little upset if he read this post--not to mention the rest of the team and their parents. If I am misunderstanding something, forgive me.
  2. Maryville lost approximately 8-10 seniors from last year's squad. West lost approximately 5-7, and I am not sure about Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge lost Diego, but they SHOULD have come back w/ more seniors than the rest. Maryville is talented but very young--I think they only have two seniors. West is very talented individually but lacking depth--what you see is what you get. Not sure about Oak Ridge.
  3. Difference in opinion. West is a good team, but I thought their only offensive opportunities were on throw-ins. They have outstanding players--Jack, Tanner, Patrick--but I thought Bearden took it to 'em last night. Also, I'm getting old, and my eyes aren't that great anymore, so I could be way off. Good luck to you and your team.
  4. Anyone watch the Bearden/West game tonight? Gives us hope for another Farragut/Bearden/Rocky/Apollo slugfest that we got to witness in 2007, doesn't it? Bearden was the better team tonight against West--hands down. From the moment that the whistle blew, it was clear that Bearden was going to win this game, despite the fact that West scored the first goal. Bearden was just too tough--plain and simple. Strong points for both teams: 1.) Bearden's Defense: If there is any doubt about who is the Alpha Male on KFC's Holland, let the debate end tonight. Seth Williams is by far Holland's ace. He dominated Jack McCoy tonight, making Jack non-existent. I love the way Seth plays: He is hard-nosed, tenacious, quick, and unassuming. Jack McCoy (one of the best strikers in the K-ville area) was a non-factor tonight because his club teammate (Seth) seemed to effortlessly contain him. In fact, if it wasn't for a few ostentatious back heels, I wouldn't have known that Jack was on the field tonight. Seth shut him down; moreover, the rest of the Bearden defense was solid, organized, and resiliant as well. Turner deployed a three back zonal system to perfection tonight, and Bearden's backline was nearly impervious to the little creativity that West's offense showed. Conversely, I thought West did not play their best game defensively. They man-mark all over the field--as if Bearden still boasts a Tom W. or an Aaron S. 2.) West's throw: It has almost become a cliche, but Tanner Thompson's throw is deadly. The only offense that West generated tonight was off his throw, and I am convinced that they have lined the field to cater to Tanner's sling shot /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> . After all, West could have taken the field out at least five yards on the home side to help make it a pitch more conducive for a soccer team. Am I missing something? How come they don't take it out? Who cares if the goal posts are not aligned with the uprights? Either way, Tanner was, once again, magnificent tonight. Not only was his throw instant offense, but he is quite the competitor as well. He is the type kid that you want on your team: He tracks all day (I have no idea whether he was playing midfield or forward); he is volatile and tireless (I am pretty sure that his aggression earns him a card nearly every game); and he has weapons that you are born with (not only does he have a throw, but he has a wicked shot). 3.) Bearden's depth: How deep does Bearden go? Did anyone notice that one of Bearden's better players (Ryan Campbell) spent nearly the first twenty minutes on the bench in the second half? Bearden was able to win the midfield without Campbell; however, they are a much better team with him on the field. He is cheeky, creative, and able to create nightmares for opposing midfielders/defenders who tend to stab. Why does Ryan spend so much time on the pine? Do he and Turner not get along? In the end, Bearden was the better team. Both teams played overly direct, but Bearden's organization and discipline were too much for West. West is a solid team but not nearly as solid as they were last year. Don't be fooled by Bearden's rollercoaster pre-season; look for them to be right there in the end, once again competing with a Farragut/Brentwood/Houston for the state title. All in good fun. I tried to just mention very high caliber players from Liverpool and Holland and not take a stab at weaknesses/weaker players of each team. Best of luck to both teams! dins

catboy--you are hilarious. You are barking up the wrong tree if you are talking bad about G or Akula. All they will do is kill you with kindness, and you will feel pretty lousy about yourself. I would watch yourself. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Anyone have a link to this article?
  7. So are you already saying that Seymour is going to lose? Sorry if I sound abrasive, but two players really shouldn't determine an outcome--especially since so many people have gotten on here and boasted on how exceptional Seymour is this year. Players being out for various reasons is a part of the game, and I am sure Bearden is missing a few key players due to injury/choir practice/whatever as well.
  8. I am in tears I am laughing so hard! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. Top Teams ALL divisions: 1.) CBHS (Rog is a great coach, and they are senior heavy and talented...might not lose a game) 2.) Farragut (Don't think for a second that Farragut is down after graduating a gargantuan senior class) 3.) Hendersonville (Don't know much, but I heard they didn't lose much) 4.) Knox West (Very well-coached with high caliber KFC players) 5.) Morristown West (senior led, TC is an outstanding player,Mike McDonald (Lakeway Kickrs.) trained them well) 6.) Catholic (at full strength...with Tyler back they will be the team to beat in AA/A) 7.) Bearden (Turner will play with the lineup, beat his players down, then build them back up when it matters) 8.) CAK (no standouts but senior heavy and a focused group) 9.) Brentwood (it seems like the right thing to say) 10.) McCallie (heard they are pounding on people) In case you can't tell, I don't know much @ this point, but this is just a quick/fun stab.
  10. They should once again be strong. There are numerous impact players--Jack, Patrick, Tanner. They also will be very well coached.
  11. I just can't understand how Seymour can get beaten by Morristown West 5-0, and then go and tie Hardin Valley and be up 4-0 over Oak Ridge right now. Something seems strange...I guess coaches are playing with lineups right now, and it is too difficult to analyze this information. I might make my first trip ever to watch Seymour's soccer team play!
  12. Several Knoxville teams with equally as tough schedules as Hendersonville...maybe even tougher...
  13. Not good soccer?! Bearden has won umphteen state championships by playing long ball. Haha...I agree with you though. I guess different teams have different styles. Also, looking back on my last post, I got the impression that you might have thought my post was a little snide. I was just trying to get a different perspective, and I was considering that I often give a biased point of view when it comes to my team. Thanks for not taking offense to it and for simply giving a more detailed answer as to why Seymour had the better showing.
  14. Nevermind...just saw on Eurosport that I got my dates mixed up. Does anyone have any other details on this game. No offense, Easttnref, but I know you are from Seymour, and home fans always tend to see it differently. (I know I always think that our team had the better outing in a 1-1 tie). Also, as far as the Catholic comment about Spencer Payne goes--shame on whomever wrote this post. Losing to Farragut--even getting pounded by Farragut--is nothing to hold your head down about. Furthermore, I am SURE that Catholic will get it together and be a top state contender down the road. In my mind, the only thing that could keep them from being a top contender is continuing to throw useless tantrums after a loss to such a high quality side like Farragut.
  15. What? I thought HV played Sevier County last night. What am I missing?
  16. ??? I wasn't at the game, but the results puzzled me. Sevier County should have a decent team, and I didn't expect Hardin Valley to pound people so quickly. I am not sure I understand the post about it being 3-1/6-1.
  17. Hardin Valley will have a varisty squad. (I think they are just doing JV for football).

    Help

I cannot find out how to become a plus member. It seems like last year there was just a button that you could click on that said "become a plus member." Can someone help me out? Sorry...I am not very computer savvy.
  19. One of the tricky forwards was probably #2? Stefan Fox? He is a pain in the butt to mark.
  20. huh? Were you wanting ihavenofriendz to add Lenoir City's name onto that list, or were you suggesting that Lenoir City is going to beat Bearden this year?
  21. G- Don't you play Farragut in the regular season as well?
  22. District 3AAA seems a little more predictable than District 4AAA, or is it? A quick preview for the front-runners: West: No doubt Knox West is again the favorite in this talented district. Although they graduated numerous stars (Cody M., Nathaniel M. etc.), I don't think these seniors are completely irreplaceable. They still have numerous All-District performers in Patrick, Tanner T. (and his throw), and, of course, Jack M. Look for Jack to come out of his shell this year; for the next three years I look for him to be the poster boy for District 3/4 in AAA. He is excellent with his feet and is a goal scoring machine. Ask any club team that has played Holland recently how tough he can be! Furthermore, Knox West adds another McCoy to its bag of tricks--Coach K. McCoy (Jack's father). With numerous returning difference makers and the insight of Coach McCoy, Knox West will once again be the team to beat in 3AAA. Oak Ridge: I see Oak Ridge as the mystery team in this district. Last year I thought they would get pummeled by West in the District semis; moreover, I thought they might have peaked after the West upset and that Maryville would definitely take care of them in the Region semis. However, Oak Ridge seemed to find a way to outlast teams that appeared to have more talent. But a great deal of their success had to do with Diego D. Unfortunately for Oak Ridge, I do not believe that Diego is a player that you can easily replace. The good news for Oak Ridge is that Coach Sheppard seems to have a knack (especially with his girls team) for finding ways to upset/beat you when it counts. Therefore, look for Oak Ridge to challenge West for a spot at the top of 3AAA. Hardin Valley: Who is playing for Hardin Valley? How in the world did they mysteriously have 50-55 kids try out for this first year squad? Doesn't matter, nor does the roster matter. What matters is that they will eventually have one of the best programs in the area and that they very well might not be as far away as some think. Why? Because of Mike Mclean. Coach Mclean took Karns as far as he could have possibly taken them, and imagine what he is going to do in the area's hotbed. Look for Hardin Valley to surprise people in only their first year as a varsity program. As always, all in good fun. Best of luck to the teams in this district. Thoughts?
