  1. Brit13, this is my last post on this thread. You should really give this up. Everyone here has tried to help you understand that soccer is a team sport and that you should support everyone on your team. You obviously just don't get it. Sorry for you. There is NO most important job in any team sport and it is obvious that you just don't understand that. Once again, sorry for you. I know I'm an adult and you're in your teens, but just get a life and try to grow up. We've tried to help but you just don't seem to understand. Good night and end of this thread (at least for me). I only hope that this continual posting of yours has not had a negative outcome on your future seasons..... And be careful speaking for the 'team'. It doesn't sound like you're part of it.
  2. I, too, would like to see this thread closed. Enough is enough. From what I have heard there has been a lot of compassion shown today from within the team, at least from most of the players. For information, the underlined 'attitude' from the previous poster says a lot. Click on it to see. And for some "the bell has rung" at least more than once............
  3. Look, neither of us signed up on this forum with anonymous logins. I think that says a lot about your maturity and as for me, I'm so old it doesn't matter. Let's just make sure we don't say anything that either one of us would regret, if we haven't already. This thing is kinda like open to the whole world to see. All I'm saying is that you are playing in a team sport. Yes, it is with a bunch of individuals but the results, either good or bad, is based on the team working together and supporting one-another. And for what it's worth. I think that the entire team deserved to be all-district this year. Not only did you have a winning season but you advanced to regionals the first time in the school's history. And you have a win against a probable state finalist. Clarksville had banners on the fence going back almost 20 years and you guys have only been around 5. And I don't see any individual on this team as a weak link, neither you nor the goalie tonight. And if you were to have put gloves on me for this game I doubt I could have had any saves at all (probably the same for either of your coaches). And I'm also sure that between the team and the coach this goalie was tending the net tonight for a good reason. There are probably other potential keepers on the team but for reasons known only to the team and the coach he was the man for this season and for this game. I also don't think it is fair for anyone to say that any other person is not giving his all. We've all been in his position where we've botched something one time or another. I could list many and probably you could too. Good luck next season whatever you decide to do. It's late and I'm an old fart so pick this up tomorrow if you wish.
  4. Remember why these two teams were in overtime in the first place. You were tied after 80 minutes of regular play. I don't keep statistics but sure there were several saves during these first 80 minutes. And if the offense had finished on more than one goal you would not have even played tonight. You can be critical of one play but not recognize the positives throughout the season(s). You must be a Central player 'cause you're showing way too much emotion on this one. Anyone else or any other plays you want to critique? Sorry I've offended you but no, I'm not ignorant about soccer. And I don't point out problems with individuals in a team sport. Especially post-season. That should be left up to the coach and the team. I might even agree with you with the all district decisions but apparently neither you nor I got to vote. And by the way, I saw very little 'perfect' soccer tonight or throughout the season. It just doesn't happen.
  5. Not fair to put the blame on the keeper for this one. Wilson Central had another 12 or so minutes to convert and didn't. Plenty of opportunities but no finish. This keeper helped bring this team to the regions with an outstanding record in saves. One play is not and never has been the winning or losing of a game. Good season for both of these teams and good luck to Clarksville tomorrow night. You'll need it.

Anyone have a schedule with start times/dates?
  7. Coach, Congrats on the win and the season. Glad to see some class on these one-sided posts. Ditto on Glencliff20. Need more of his type here on these threads.
  8. Not often do we get (or want, or have reason) to post on such a thread, but as a parent of one of the Wilson Central players, "Way to go!!!". Did not make it to the game (out-of town on business) but had a play-by-play over the phone. Congrat's to the players, the coaching staff and the supporting parents and fans. This is an improved team with a very weak history, almost more coaches than years played, little support from the system or the community, and a very minimal local soccer envirionment. To play such a powerhouse as H'ville with the high class of local soccer and come out without a loss is a powerful statement, so much more with a win! That and Central's current record speaks volumes. And as far as I know not a single Brazilian player on the roster (although I'm sure they are welcome to try out for the team). This is a team effort, not individuals. This team has a future, not only this year, but in future years as well. This team, obviously, is one in transition. Hopefully the success of this season will strengthen the local soccer community. Thanks to the Glencliff player for the positive comments. Soccer needs more of that. Good luck to all during the remainder of the season and good-night. And please be safe on and off the fields.
  9. Heads up on this game. Heard this morning that it has been pushed up to 5:00PM.
