  1. 4th in region shouldn't be our goal. With the region this year, that is what everyone expects. I believe we should be shooting for 3rd in region and try to show Central this year that we can beat them again finally.
  2. Look for Sophomore Garret Gresham to Contriubte a ton at WR this year for Halls.
  3. That would not be a game worth seeing at all. Last year Fulton split with Catholic 1-1, so I'd say both teams were evenly matched. Every year Catholic has a pre-season scrimmage with halls (who gets killed by maryville year after year). Last year was supposed to be a down year for halls, and in the scrimmage they played Catholic very well, I believe the final score was like 14-14 (it may have changed once the JV started playing but that's what it was when the varsity was done). So by common opponent Maryville would kill Fulton. Yes I do realize that you would have to consider factors such as team speed, skill players, and size and strength in the trenchs, but still. Maryville and Fulton would never be a close game.
  4. After the spring the only sophomores that looked like they would contribute to the varsity team were Corey Fitzpatrick (sp?) at outside linebacker, and Garrett Gresham at WR. Gresham is a playmaker, watch out for him over the next 3 years.
  5. hurst= O-line sexton= wide recievers
  6. hopefully in years to come under KJ Halls just wont be wanting to make it to the play-offs, but hoping to win a few games in the play-offs and maybe making it to the state championship. I know that's a long way off, but that is where our goal needs to be instead of just finishing 4th in the region year after year.
  7. I don't think powell will be in that group. I may be wrong. But who knows? I belive Halls or Clinton will be the 4 spot
  8. the coaching rumor has to do with the freshmen coachs head freshmen coach tobi kilgore recieved some type of job or something at carson newmen the red devils will have to replace him for the upcoming frosh
  9. at the conclusion of spring practice, my thoughts for the up coming season have changed quite a bit. I thought the red devils would have a very successful season finishing 3rd or 4th in region and would possibly win a game or 2 in the play-offs. but now after seeing what happend in spring practice I realize that the red devils are very far away from accomplishing this. I realize we lacked several starters in the WB scrimmage and were playing guys that probably have very little chance of playing in a actual varsity game. I knew going into it we wouldnt be able to do much on offense, but having what is supposed to be our starting defensive line and 3 of our starting LB's i thought we could keep it close with defense. I was shocked that we couldnt get anymore pressure on the QB. i dont remember any play were we had more then 1 d-linemen in the backfield. Also i am very surprised that our starters couldnt get anything going against campell county. This year we are supposed to be lead by our OL and DL since they are pretty much all returning starters and those that didnt start saw plenty of playing time last year, but in these 2 scrimmages it was obvious that they lack depth, all 4 starting defensive linemen start on offense too and after about the 3rd serious these boys were dead. I believe a key factor in this up coming season will be developing younger linemen and get them ready for varsity competiton, rotating these guys enough to keep them fresh, and how good of shape we are in during the season.

  11. knoxville halls has a pretty impressive offensive line this year center- Curtis Plunk- 6'2" 220lbs, big athletic kid who will be a returning starter at center tackle- Steven Hill- 6'4" 275lbs, very big kid, is going to be a junior this year and is the only of the 5 that is not a returning starter but he saw plenty of playing time last year as a sophomore, if the kid hits the weights hard the next 2 years he has the size to be a D! prospect guard- Aaron Blair- 6'0" 270, will be a 3 year starter this year in his senior season, power cleans 245, and im not sure the exact numbers but he squats 500+ lbs and benchs 300+ lbs guard- Brent Hughs- 6'1" 220, extremly quick kid for his size, i believe the 40 time is close to a low 4.8, started last year on offense and defense and is a major threat on the DL tackle- Caleb Leonard- 6'3" 250, pretty quick for his size, i think the 40 time is close to 4.9-5.0, the kid runs the 200 meter dash on the schools track team if that tells ya anything. He benchs 325, powercleans 250, and placed 6th in the state tournament at heavyweight in wrestling. Is only going to be a junior. started on both sides of the ball for the red devils last year as a sophomore
  12. at what position are these 3 expecting to find playing time??
  13. Yea Rhea County I bet you would love to see Maryville, Bearden, William Blount, Oak Ridge, and Farragut all in the other region /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  14. what type of talent do we have in the box on D??? & how much depth will we have in the backfield at running back??? also... how much depth will the freshmen class add to the WR and DB positions??? who are some of the youngsters that are expected to step up?
  15. Really the team with best defense is the team that can run 3 or 4 of these defenses effectivly. Changing formations constantly will drive even the best offensive line insane.
