  1. Wilson Central loses 10 seniors that had significant playing time: Dyna Rouem, Austin Jennings, Eric McGee, and Josh Evans in defense Jonathan Hansen and Hugh Whatley in goal Misael Gutierrez and Emilio Rodriguez in midfield Musa Kamara and Nathan Smith at forward Underclassmen got a lot of playing time this year though.
  2. Better yet, why dont we put the whole crazy game up there for the people that didnt get to see it? Youtube plays host to people who simply show their faces change over a year, might as well use it for something useful!
  3. that really depends on your definition of "best". Number of wins in a season? Number of goals scored in a season? Prolongued success? Most dominating? The greatest championship game winner? You could say this year's Farragut team was the greatest team ever, the way they came back from a 2-1 deficit at halftime to win an explosive 5-4 match. Then again, the whole "taunting" thing could taint that for you. Or make it even more impressive, that they lost a great player and still won. CAK could be in this discussion if you wanted to look at program prestige; 5 straight titles would certainly get a bid as the best team ever, since there are kids on that team that have been there all 4 years it would count as 1 team for them.
  4. Its not exactly an assumption when said keeper has stated his heart wasnt with this team after he signed with Cumberland.
  5. When does Hendersonville play? I would like to support my District-mates.
  6. I, for one, am surprised they only lost 4-0. Anybody know details? How can Hendersonville shalack them 7-0, but Brentwood, the #1 ranked team the majority of the year, only in 4-0? Did they put in reserves early after they secured the win, or did Clarksville just play exponentially better than they did against hendersonville?
  7. I, for one, am proud of everything we accomplished this year. I see valid arguments in both sides of this debate, but the bottom line is that we are no longer playing. Unfortunate as it may be, we have all the reason in the world to be ecstatic about how the season unfolded. We were the underdog in just about every game we played this year and we still won the majority of them. I look forward to seeing what future generations of WC soccer will be like. Each incarnation now has a new goal: to be better than the 2007 team. I hope, some day, that WC can be mentioned in the same breath as Hendersonville and Brentwood.
  8. i agree with that. Clarksville's biggest asset is its heart. Brentwood's biggest asset is its talent. Im no genius, but i do know you can show up without heart. I wish the best to both teams, but i just don't think there is anyway Brentwood gets upset.
  9. i would like to know how you think wilson central is struggling right now.
  10. So Wilson Central is coming off of a tough loss to Hendersonville while Clarksville is riding high after its win over regular-season champions Dickson County. Thoughts?
  11. hah, i for one found your remark on the 11 brazilians quite humorous. but thanks for the apology anyways! its that kind of poking fun that we need to keep in the game and in life in general. political correctness is taking over to the point where soon enough we wont be able to say anything without having to retract that statement. but this is neither the time, nor the place to go into that diatribe. Just so you guys know, Region 5 breaks down this way Dickson County @ Hendersonville Wilson Central @ Clarksville i assume DC-H game is at 6 on tuesday, as ours is, but they could be different.
  12. Commando07, i take it you didn't get loved enough as a child and thats why you are backlashing onto a team that is continuing its strongest season ever, especially when you're not even on the team. Its not fair for you to taint the school like that. Our keeper and I had a talk with Hendersonville's keeper after the game and he assured us neither he, nor his teammates had anything to do with this thread and they sincerely apologized for it. Im sorry that this guy ever said anything. Hendersonville: you guys played an intense, clean game. Perhaps the inexperience was all the difference in the world, but im still proud of both teams. If we had to lose, im glad it was to a classy team. Congratulations to the District 9-AAA champions and good luck against Dickson County on monday. I hope to see you again in regionals. Central: Congratulations on 2nd place. This is the best we have ever done and i could not be more proud of this group of guys. Even when we were down 4-0 with a 2 minutes left, we didnt quit. Thanks for playing with character guys.
  13. Touche on the grammar correction DblTech
  14. Northwest beat Rossview? oh snap. way to go Vikings! How's District 10-AAA shaping up?
  15. you are correct in stating that our schedule is not as stacked as the premier teams in the state are. However, you are overlooking a few facts: 1) Glencliff was ranked 13th in the state by EurosportScoreboard.com when we played them. 2) Lebanon is a rivalry game, so of course they are going to pour their souls out on the field when that time rolls around. 3) Centennial knocked off previously unbeaten Brentwood, 1-0. 4) Smyrna, while their record may not indicate how well they've played, at times they were able to kick it into another gear, but where there a lot of freshmen on the team? because it seems like they were more inexperienced than unskilled. Yes, Friendship is terrible. I will not argue on that one. I can't speak about Antioch and Hunter's Lane because I have never played them, nor seen them play. And yes, i would also venture to say our success is from having 12 seniors as well, although a few key contributors are underclassmen such as Jared Prall (Sophomore) and Chase Matheson (Junior). Leadership plays a big part and when you've lost for so long like these seniors have, it gets to a point where you wont settle for mediocrity anymore and you scrap, bleed, and cry until you come out on top. which is what we, as the senior leaders, have done.
  16. This is one of the toughest districts in the state this year!! I'm not talking about in years past, and i did not say we were THE toughest, just a tough one. You tell me LaVergne didn't go out and play hard every game. You don't get 9 wins by not playing hard. And we all played quality teams. Aliyu was one of the best guys ive seen in area soccer, not because he was a great player, but because he was joking around and having fun, being respectful during the games we played against him. I thought it was a complete shame he couldnt finish the game last night, thats not how he deserves to go out. I have nothing but respect for him and the LaVergne program. And with wilson central, yes, this is the best we have ever done, but it is completely ludicrous to dismiss us because we are just now coming up. Sure, we don't stack up against the Brentwoods, Farraguts, and Beardens of the state in program prestige...yet. But who knows? Maybe this year is a stepping stone for a string of competitiveness in the district. Regardless, im proud of everyone in this district. From Gallatin to Smyrna, because every game was a battle. It is a shame only 2 teams can go to regionals, but i am very proud we are one of those two going. We are going to play as hard as we can to make this district, our school, our fans, our coaches, and our teammates proud of us.
  17. I agree. Best of luck to both teams. The winner will truly deserve it. this is one of the toughest districts in the state with Hendersonville, Gallatin, LaVergne, and us in it. Anyone who wins this district has to have earned it, and whether or not "Commando07" is a player or fan or whatever, he has obviously not seen us play because our defense does not play with luck, we play with heart. that has been our motto all year. That post doesnt stand for the way the Hendersonville players and coaches go about soccer, as BigG said. They have been nothing but respectful to our coaches and players since our inception 6 years ago. Good luck to both teams and give the fans a great game!!
  18. As a member of the Wilson Central team, i can guarantee you we will show up and play our hearts out. This may be our first appearence in a title game, but rest assured it will not be our last. it was not a fluke that we won, it was a team effort. We will come ready to play, no doubt.
  19. Aliyu has been playing up top. And he got injured, looked like an ankle injury. He was limping off the field Monday after the Mt. Juliet game.
  20. After Aliyu went out in the second half, LaVergne lost its rhythm. Wilson Central takes about 15 minutes to get a feel for the game, a stance that has cost them in the past and cost them last night. Aliyu scored early to give them a 1-0 lead that they kept into the 2nd half. In the 54th minute, Nathan Smith chipped the keeper on a ball that seemed was going to clear the post and sail out of bounds. however, the ball dropped and bounced into the goal. game tied 1-1. LHS was playing hard the whole game, but it appeared that the overtime game they played the night before began to take its toll on them physically and mentally, as both sides were getting awfully chippy and rambunctious in the 2nd half and LaVergne lost a step. Wilson Central just kept pushing LaVergne until they finally broke in the 80th minute when a shot was launched that ricocheted off a LaVergne defender. Wilson Central was awarded a penalty kick Dyna Roeum launched the ball into the lower left corner and after the goal was signaled, the game was called.
  21. Wilson Central beat LaVergne 2-1 in the very last second on a penalty kick from a handball inside the box. Anybody know the final from Gallatin and Hendersonville?
  22. yes, the district tournament will now be held at Gallatin.
  23. Actually, Central beat Lebanon in the preseason, 3-2. Lebanon beat Central in the 7-on-7 tournament, which does not qualify as a preseason game.
  24. Yes, the district tournament is at Smyrna this year. and just a little update on this district: Wilson Central 2-2 Beech. The score does not tell half the story. Central dominated possession, but the keeper gave up two easy goals: 1 on a direct kick just outside the 18 and the other was right next to the post that he failed to leave the line for. For most of the game the officiating was very fair and balanced, but the last five minutes, the refs didnt call anything. Beech's keeper grabbed a ball, bobbled it, snatched it, then smacked Centrals player and knocked him to the ground, all inside the box, and not a thing was called. I give beech credit though, they took advantage of their opportunities. Central is now 3-0-1 in district play taking on Gallatin next tuesday.
  25. Station Camp 1-0 Wilson Central Congratulations to the Bison on a hard-fought, well-earned victory. You guys played hard and with determination. Good luck on the rest of your season.
