  1. Guys, this topic is for Standings Only. I started it to get away from the Farragut/Bearden fued that is going on in other topics. Please stick to the topic! Cruiser & Dawgluvr please keep your opinions on your other posts not this one. The district race is real tight from 3 to 6. Here is what I have, correct me if I missed something... Farragut 12-1 @Maryville Bearden 10-2 Sevier Co, @SD Sevier Co 7-6 @Bearden WB 6-6 Heritage, SD Heritage 6-6 Maryville, @WB Maryville 4-6 @Heritage, Farragut, @SD, SD SD 2-7 Bearden, LC, Maryville, @Maryville, @WB LC 0-13 @SD
  2. How about after last night? Sevier Co 8 Maryville 5 S-D 2 LC 1 Farragut 10 Bearden 4 Any others?
  3. Anybody got the latest standings? I know Farragut then Bearden, but after that .........
  4. We had Campbell Co cancel on us this Saturday. Anybody need to pick up a game Saturday? We would be willing to travel or can play at home. This is for VARSITY. Please contact Coach Lance Traywick @ 368-7648.ThanksForgot the date 4/19, and anytime is okay.
  5. Maryville shows a record of 7-2 on their site. They went 6-1 at Disney last week. We have heard that this is probably the best Maryville team that they have had in a while.
  6. I had heard that 2 of the teams that Farragut beat were ranked in the top ten in the country by USA Today. Any truth to this? It says a lot for the state of Tennessee and the quality of baseball that is here for this tourney to have the 2 finalist both from Tennessee. Congrats to both teams!
  7. Haven't seen Bearden yet this year, but Farragut did swing the bats well tonight! Out hit us 14 to 4. Most of the balls were hit sharp, even the outs. I realize we (SCHS) don't have the pitching that Bearden has, but Faragut does look tough. It definitely would be a good game to watch. Heard there are going to be quite a few scouts there. Farragut's infield is not as slow as people think. Powell is legit at SS for high school, probably a 2nd baseman at the next level. Nicky has some wheels and range at 2nd. He also swung the bat pretty well tonight, and showed he can lay down a bunt. I still say that this is one of the toughest districts in the state. There will be a couple of teams sitting at home that could compete with other district's top teams. Hats off to Farragut for tonight. I think you have a top program.
  8. I think Farragut & Bearden need to start another thread. S-D was not at the playday in Seymour. It was between Heritage, Halls, Seymour, and Sevier Co. Heritage stayed with Seymour for a while. One scrimage was 7-7, not sure about the other, or the scrimmage with Halls. Sevier Co held its own with Halls, tying 2-2 and beating them 9-7. They then lost pretty bad to Seymour 13-1. They showed their youth against Seymour and got rattled. Seymour pitched Todd Ogle against SC. He looks tough! Low to mid 80s with ability to hide pitches well. Very tough on righties. Seymour had Heritage twice in their other scrimmage. Hats off to Seymour and their crew! Field was in great shape considering all the weather! Real good preseason atmosphere. Halls did have a catcher get hurt, thought he broke his hand, hopefully not and prayers go out for him. Anybody else scrimmage yesterday? Maryville? Farragut? Bearden? W-B? LC?
  9. Another thread had S-D beating Oak Ridge 12-10. S-D, Heritage, & Sevier Co are scheduled to play at Seymour in a play day with Halls & Seymour today if the field holds up. W-B, is Garland hurt? I have heard shoulder, knee... If so that is a shame! He is a good pitcher! I heard from a PF person that he did not pitch against them.
  10. The above reply is why names should not be mentioned about High School kids. You can damage a kids reputation quickly on a site like this. Barkley is NOT one of them! Thanks to the previous post pointing that out! I have heard all 3 are still off the team, 1 returned to school, but is not back with the team. Please remember that these are kids. You would not want rumors about your kids being publicly posted. Please keep names out of it. My opinion.
  11. Rumor floating around area about Central is drug related. I have heard 3 starters, not sure if any others. Since these are kids under 18, it probably would be best to leave their names out. People will know once the season starts.
  12. This topic seemed to turn into a West Knoxville affair... The Smoky Bears are still young but we do have experience coming back. Should be starting 4 or 5 sophs and 2 or 3 jrs. Most of which saw action last year on the varsity level. Pitching is still a question. Anyone have a list of each school's signees and where they plan to attend?
  13. Farragut didn't lose too many players last year...They should be strong and the Favorite. Bearden has a few already signing papers for the next level. South Doyle lost a lot, but had a lot in reserve...have to wait and see on them Heritage seems young. W-B all depends on how they respond to new leadership. He was an assistant there right? Maryville seems to have a lot of tallent. L-C lost it's leaders from last year, depends on who is ready to step up. S-C is still young, but tallented. Some of the youth got a lot of experience last year. Depends on pitching. Should have a good Defensive squad with capable offense.
