Looks like Mr Noitall must be from Columbia. I think that this district will be strong from top to bottom. We'll see in the next couple of weeks how good his magic eight ball is.

From what I am hearing, the college coaches were the ones that were pushing for the high school teams to start using metal cleats. This gives the girls a chance to adjust before going to play college ball. I think that if you need to change something to help college kids adjust, move the pitching rubber back to 43 ft as it is in college game. That makes more sense than switching to metal cleats. As far as I know, metal cleats are still not going to be allowed in travel ball or rec leagues.

Pretty much all of these girls spent their summer playing competitive travel ball. If they didn't, then they are probably wasting their time this spring trying to play high school ball. I'm not sure who had the best teams in 16U and 18U with girls that came out of this district, but I do know that Coffee County and Lawrence County had VERY good 14U teams.

I don't see how you can not put Tullahoma in the top 10 in AAA. They have a senior pitcher and catcher that have both already commited to UT Martin. They will have to earn it to get there though, they play in one of the tougheast districts in the state. Just glad to finally get to start practice next week. I'm one of those parents that want to watch softball year round.

I got to see the 14U team from Unicoi play in travel ball last summer. They had a good bunch of girls. They should be strong for the the next couple of years.

Summertown and Forrest will both be strong in A Class agian this year. There is a lot of talent coming out of middle Tennessee.

District 8 AAA should be very competitive again this year. Every team is returning some strong players. My top 3 would be: Coffee County, Tullahoma and Lawrence County but it's a toss up.

First, Congrats to Morristown, the Cruisers, Worth 93, OC Batbusters and every other team that finished high the different World Series this year!!! You represent how far Fastpitch Softball has come in the state of Tennessee and the players, parents and fans of this sport are so very proud!!! As far as Little League vs Travel Ball, many of these girls play in Rec leagues (Little League, Dixie Youth, etc...) and on travel teams. Most of your Rec league games are played through the week, so it is like having live practice.
