  1. I would agree as well on the four teams, however the only game I would question is the JP v CB game. JP should have their full roster back after one of their players had to sit due to a red card. My understanding is that he's a good player and so this should have an impact on the game. I think the recent defeats to FR and McCallie were without him. Anyone know anything about this?
  2. Well, or course they can, which mean Brentwood and Farragut could knocked off as well. I think that goes without saying. All I'm looking at is schedule and quality wins/ties. IF both teams bring their "A" games and since the game is at Hville, then what I'm saying is that on paper Hville should win.
  3. That will certainly happen if Hville doesn't put the ball on frame. Of late, they've started having a little more success scoring so it will all come down to that. If Hville can put up 2 goals, they'll win. If not, they'll have a tough time. Rossview has only had about one quality win all year v. DC. Beyond that, their schedule just has not been that tough. I guess we'll know Tuesday night. Home for Hville helps. I think they're undefeated at home this year.
  4. Can someone verify news on Bwood's team? I heard they had a red card or two the last game and they'll have a player or two out this game. Anyone know who it is and if that will make any difference?
  5. I'm not sure if they actually are not continuing. I've not heard that their season is over and according to the Tennessean, they play at McCallie. This may basically be a consolation game but they do plan another game and my guess is that they'll win that one. I'm not sure how the D2 tourney works. Anyone know?
  6. Ok then...if that is the case then I'd vote Hville's entire defense to all district, along with their keeper - end of story.
  7. OOPS /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" thought it was tonight. I'll still go will Farragut either way.
  8. Maryville goes down tonight because their strength is control. They control the ball well but forecast has rain all night in the east. Unless it is postponed, they lose. Farragut is much more creative with the talent they have and the wet field shouldn't affect that as much. Just poor timing. If I'm Maryville's coach, I'm pushing to reschedule. With regard to Hville and Bearden, Hville did lose 3 players but that is part of it. I thought Hville played well despite the 6 goals but Bearden was better on that field on that day. The key now is that Bearden is done and Hville has a minimum of two games remaining. That seems more significant at this point.
  9. I think Farragut wins this one 3-1
  10. Yes. Both final teams advance. District Champs v District Runner-Ups in Regions.
  11. I don't know...I'd say it is a good comparison at that level. Seeing as though Catholic beat Bearden and a D2 JPII beat Farragut, although I realize that is different. It just shows that the distinctions between school categories are less divisive with regard to talent than ever and wins against strong A/AA and DII teams are good wins and vice versa.
  12. One other occurence about the game last night that I found interesting. As the end of regulation neared, Gallatin did all the things that most teams are taught to do - only with a bit more obvious intention...they stalled. They took their time with goal kicks, occassionally would re-tie their shoes, walk after missed balls, etc. and the center ref really took control of all of that. The final 2 minutes of that game felt very long as the ref added additional time for stoppage, and apparently for stalling. In this case, I think the stall may have come back to bite Gallatin. Every team does it, but it simply had the reverse affect last night and gave Hville some additional time to score.
  13. I would agree on the thrilling portion. It felt like Hendersonville just could not get momentum all night, Gallatin did a great job of keeping things off balanced down the stretch. I'm not certain they beat Lavergne unless they come ready to score. They allowed Gallatin to stay confident throughout and Lavegne should capitalize more on that if allowed. Hville won the regular season 3-0 but this will be much closer. Lavergne has some serious scoring threats up top. Hville does as well but they've just not broken out with a scoring fest this year.
  14. DC will get their revenge from regular season loss. Will take this one 3-1.
  15. You're right, they did. However it was a 2-1 loss at Brentwood and probably gave Brentwood their closest game of the season. Hendersonville is one of those teams that people expect a lot out of each year and normally do not get a lot of attention during the regular season due to their schedule. Looking at Euro, their opponents win % is 69% excluding ties, which means they have the most difficult schedule of any team in the Top 10 - AAA based on the numbers at the beginning of this post. They've had some tough losses so they are a hard team to gauge. We should know more if they make it to Regions.
  16. All games finished as expected, although the MJ game in PK's was a surprise. Tonight's games: Lavergne v Mt. Juliet at 6 Hendersonville v Gallatin at 8 All District Games are played at Drakes Creek Park at Hendersonville's Home Field I think Lavergne takes MJ easily. Although they played to a 0-0 tie in the regular season with both teams exhausted after the game. It was a great game to see though. Lavergne seems to have more talent but "on any given night, anything can happen." Hendersonville SHOULD handle Gallatin. I just can't see Gallatin putting up more than a goal against Hendersonville's defense. They played last week with HHS winning 3-1 but it appeared as if Gallatin was on their heels the whole game. Gallatin has certainly improved as the year has progressed so it should be a good rematch.
  17. Rd 1 Hendersonville - Bye Mt. Juliet v Smyrna Lavergne v Beech Gallatin v Wilson Central
  18. Wow, guys, just let all of this go. The game is over and Brentwood won it, whether or not they showed poor sportsmanship. This I know, both teams will most likely meet again soon so settle it on the field...Independence should use all of this, coupled with the 5-0 loss, as motivation to play better next game.
  19. Both teams seem to be fairly evenly matched. I've only seen each play once this year and both play more of a defensive style play....less aggressive up top. It should be low scoring and I would pick a Portland win 2-1 only because they've had more success of late after an awful start of the season.
  20. With Hendersonville win v Beech and the Mt. Juliet/Lavergne tie, I think that wraps up the regular season district with Hendersonville on top. With 7 teams in this district, does the top team get a first round bye in the district or is it some other format? Predictions on who moves to Regions?
  21. Probably one of the more civil games between these two teams...only about 3 cards - although one was a straight red against Hville late on what seemed like a retaliation. I thought both teams looked very evenly matched. It felt like the ball stayed in the Hville zone a bit more throughout the game but both defenses held up to their reputations and both keepers played well. Hville had a chance to tie late but just couldn't move the ball into scoring position. Brentwood had incredible ball control but their pushes got disrupted quite a bit and they rarely had a good shot on goal. There was an extremely good amount of talent on that field and both teams should do well in post season.
  22. Yeh...I realized that. I'm just an idiot. It is really bad when I can't get the score right after it has been played. I truly thought it was tonight. Thanks for calling me out though - its all in good fun. Hey...at least I picked the winner!
  23. Seems like both teams have struggled this year with any team with a winning record. A lot of scoring on both sides but on teams with weak records. I'll say Seymour gets motivated enough to play hard and pulls off a close one 2-1.
