  1. Must not have been much of a scrimmage
  2. about Hutch, he is a fine coach and was fresh when he was here. TNRecruiter - were you a defensive back because you sure are good at backpedaling. You first said that Hutchins was made because he got fired which is a complete and total lie. Now you are saying that he is a fine coach. Make up your mind idiot. But you did finally get it right, Hutchins is a fine coach and Ricky is doing just fine coaching the running backs. Matter of fact, i have met the entire South-Doyle staff and they are all very nice guys that are good coaches. They actually have three former Jefferson County Football players on there staff so they have to be good. They learned from a great coach in Kisabeth. Yes Kisabeth was a great coach but he is still a lousy AD.
  3. I did not get to go to the scrimmage so I was wondering who won the scrimmage and who looked good from both teams. Good luck to both teams in the upcoming season.
  4. Sorry i forgot to get off my soap box and ask how the carter scrimmage went last. I asked one guy and he did nto seem to think it went real well.
  5. please go watch Maryville play before you say they run the veer. Yes tey do line up in split backs some and yes they do run the veer on occassions but do not call them a veer team because they are not. TNRecruiter, you are an idiot, plan and simple. First off, If i remember correctly, Hutchins left JC on good terms to take the McMinn job and then applied for the JC job when Meadows left and then pulled his name out, I do not know why he pulled his name though. You will have to ask him. As far as I know he is still on good terms with Coach K because I saw them talking at a JC basketball game this past season. There are many good football coaches that are former JC grads other than GQ. David Cagle is on a very successful staff in Georgia, Glen Purrier did a good job of coaching at Tellico Plains with the talent that he had, and if you remember what South-Doyle used to be like befor Hutchins got there, you would see that he is doing an OK job there and he did good at McMinn the year that he was there. I only mention those three because they are my time period and they are the only ones I keep up with but I know there are many others that are not even trying to come back and be on the staff of there old stomping grounds and I would like to know why they do not want to come home. I will support the football team as long as there is one but I am not oing to turn a blind eye to the problems that keep smacking us in the face year after year and that is Coach K and Mr. S destroying the athletic programs at athe high school. WHEN was the last good successful season from any sport at the high school TNRecruter.
  6. I have no problem with "Gut" as a football coach or as a person. I have only talked to him once or twice but he seems like a good guy. My only cocern is his lack of experience as a coach in general. I heard GQ say one time that no is ready to be a head coach when they start out, but "Gut" only has three years of coaching experience at all. Not to say the same thing twice, but why did no other JCHS grads apply. When the program was on track in the 80's, The motto used to be "once a Patriot, always a Patriot." With that tyupe of loyalty and pride you would think more Former JC players that are current coaches would have applied. I think they did not because they know it is a bad situation with the current administration...Coach K and Mr. S
  7. Just how good is OR this year. Are they really good or is Powell as bad as a few of these guys on here are saying. I would like to hear from both sides.
  8. I don't agree that the veer is outdated but CN has not had near the success with the veer as they have had in the past. They have been middle of the road for the past several years, even when gut was there. My question is this, with all of the former JC football players that are curreently coaching high school football (several with head coaching experience) why did very few (2) even apply for the job. The root of the problem goes much deeper than the players, coaches. I think that none of them want to work under coach K and Mr. S. They have made two pretty bad hires in the past and then offer the job to a 20 something year old with no head coaching or any real coordinating experience. Coach K's response int he paper was that "Gut" (Another issue) showed great ability to go and talk to the middle school parents showed him thta "Gut" was ready to be a head coach. Come on, I can go and talk to middle school parents so I guess I will apply in a few years when "Gut" gets tired of working for these jokers.
