I look for Rossview and Dickson to be pretty tough next year. Dickson will lose no pitchers and played 7 freshman this year so they will only improve each year - they made it to the regionals playing 7 freshman hopefully that experience will make them even stronger in 2008. Rossview will be strong again with pitching and their hitters are very strong

Dickson played Freshman Julianna Bass at second base, Freshman Kayla Edwards in the outfield and saw some pitching time, Freshman Lauren Keele at shortstop, Freshman Megan Kilgore pitched in regulare rotation, Freshman Brooke Jenkins at first, Freshman Ashley Ford was used as a DP for most of the year. While Freshman Cat Petty was a pinch runner as well as a rotating starter. They are only losing two starters from the 2007 season - so the hopes are high for the 2008 Lady Cougar Season.

How many players are graduating from your team? How many starters do you have coming back? How do you feel about 2008 season?

I know Rossviews shortstop, along with Mt Juliet, Camden and Riverdale's are strong as well as Dicksons. Dickson's second baseman is very strong. Being from Clarksville and considering who we will be losing and the fact the Dickson only lost two starters (3rd base & Catcher) it will be another tough three years to get past Dickson they had freshman on the mound, 1st, 2nd, short, left and sometimes right. They have to be the only team out there with that many freshman starters. Rossviews first baseman is somewhat of a brick wall, when we played preseason against Beech their third baseman was one of the toughest I have seen. Riverdale has a bomb in centerfield. Creekwood also has a great centerfielder. Camdens catcher is pretty tough, I wish I had names I will work on that at the tournament today.

After watching afew of Dickson Countys post season games I would have to say that Dicksons freshman starting pitcher Megan Kilgore would be one of the more poished efficient pitchers that I have seen in a while. Not over powering with speed but very good control and seems to be throwing atleast six or seven different pitches. I am not sure how many strikeouts she had in the games I saw but I did see several opponents dragging their bats back to their dugout!

Well, the district 10 AAA remains a mystery! The teams that struggled in the early part of the year have really worked hard and have managed to come together for the district tournament. I am glad to see that it is really anybody's district title at this point. Hopefully, when the dust clears 10 AAA will have the best most deserving two teams represent them in the Region.
