  1. That really smarts to outshoot a team by 20 and tie... but it happens. This may be the biggest tie or win for East Ridge ever. I know what you mean about a small field but unfortunately that is all alot of schools have money for. Football fields are also very hard for a visiting team for sure. Congratulations to East Ridge. CCSMAN, I am sure you guys will bounce back and be ready to go.
  2. I cut and pasted the following from the online Dalton News. Dalton boys 4, Ooltewah 2: Carlos Mendez and Luis Rivas each had a goal and an assist as the Catamounts ran their record to 4-0 with the road victory in Tennessee. Ricky Rodriguez and Jose Rangel each added a goal and Heriberto Hernandez and Osvaldo Fraire each had an assist. The Cats, who led 3-0 at halftime, lost the shutout in the 70th minute when the Owls claimed their first goal. Dalton, which outshot its opponent 25-6, scored its final goal with two minutes remaining and Ooltewah converted a penalty in the final minute. Saul Maldonado played well on defense, Cats coach Matt Cheaves said.
  3. Coaches Vote Baylor As Top Preseason Soccer Team posted March 10, 2008 With games beginning on Monday of this week, Baylor was voted the top Chattanooga soccer team by area coaches. McCallie was second and Notre Dame third. CCS and Ooltewah were tied for fourth. CSAS at Soddy-Daisy were set to face off on Monday. CCS plays at Red Bank on Tuesday. CSAS vs Ooltewah is the other game this week with two ranked teams. Chattanoogan.com Coaches Poll: 1. Baylor 2. McCallie 3. Notre Dame 4T. CCS 4T. Ooltewah 6. CSAS 7. Soddy-Daisy 8. Cleveland 9. Red Bank 10. McMinn County
  4. Chattanooga soccer kicks off tonight with 3 games on tap. CSAS travels to Soddy Daisy, Baylor takes on Ringgold at Baylor and McCallie plays Ridgeland at McCallie. I would think that CSAS and Soddy game would be very entertaining. Really don't know anything about the Ga schools Ringgold and Ridgeland. I did look at score results and Ringgold has beaten all of the area Catoosa and Walker County schools including Ridgeland. Seems the Ga season started a month ago....so at least they have alot of game experience going for this year. Just don't know about that area at all....we shall see. Tomorrow night has a full slate of games......let's get this season started!
  5. Can't wait for the real season to start. When everyone has their team set.....the best they can. Curious about schedules.....who plays who in their first game. And when is that game.
  6. I can't remember the name of the website that broadcasts some of the basketball games. Can anyone help me here?
  7. To think you will win by 12 is pretty cocky don't you think. You lost the first time and had to win on a shot at the buzzer the 2nd time. You might win but I don't think by 12. I still pick Baylor in a close one.
  8. Should be an interesting and intense game. Look for a barn burner. I will say it goes to overtime and Baylor will take it by 4.
  9. Chattanoogan Trapped In Dorm During Storm Is Recovering posted February 6, 2008 Friends of a Chattanoogan who was trapped in a dorm after a tornado struck Union University in Jackson on Tuesday night said his prognosis continues to improve. David Wilson, who graduated last year from Chattanooga Christian School, was taken by ambulance to a Jackson hospital after he was finally freed from debris. Friends said it first appeared that his legs had been crushed, but it now appears it was compression marks and no surgery would be necessary. Shawn Brower, CCS high school principal who drove Wilson family members to Jackson after learning of the devastation at the Jackson university, said he is alert with his eyes open. He wrote on a pad, "I have never been so scared." The injured student was taken to an intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator as his injuries were evaluated. Mr. Brower said he was expressing concern about the condition of his roommate, who was trapped with him. There were no deaths or critical injuries at the university from the storm despite heavy damage to two dorm buildings.
  10. How is the talent level for CSAS, CCS and Notre Dame this year. Who looks like they will take that division this year. Thanks.
  11. Look for Jurick to come up big tonight...at least he needs to for the Pioneers. East Ridge by 3.
  12. Odd how they arrive at some of the rankings. Baylor and Father Ryan have the same amount of losses....but Baylor beats Father Ryan and FR is ranked way ahead of them? Also Baylor beat Brentwood Academy by a large amount....and they the same thing. Just a real curious thing.
  13. ETSU played club soccer this year and next fall will play play division 1 soccer in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
  14. I too just looked at mjubb's poll. Not only are they listed in his top 25 but all 3 made top 10 list. Everyone knows about Baylor and McCallie but I really don't know anything about Notre Dame this year. I had thought this was going to be a down year for them but does mjubb know something?
  15. Well done Baylor. Things look great when the full team gets back healthy.
  16. I don't see how anyone could take what you said as disrespect....just your opinion. I totally agree with you as well. Both have great teams but I believe that Baylor is above the others. They know how to win and have a tremendous tradition. I won't predict a score but I don't see it being that close.
  17. You know I looked several times after the game for what I expected to be....alot of comments. Was alittle disappointed. I don't have a dog in the hunt in this one but who was not interested in the outcome that loved high school sports. Obviously the top 2 teams in the area but Howard did it again. Congratulations! To go to Brainerd and again find a way to win speaks volumns for their kids and coach. I hope Howard can go all the way this year and bring home the trophy to Chattanooga.
  18. I will find the thread you are talking about. Should be an incredible game with the 2 top teams in the area playing. Good luck to both teams but I hope Howard pulls it off.
  19. Wow...wouldn't that make an awesome team. Look forward to seeing Jurick being a Vol next year. T-mac any thoughts on the Howard vs Brainerd game?
  20. McCallie has never been a basketball powerhouse. Looks they have played a good schedule but I don't see any surprise here.
  21. Spoken like a true Alabama fan. I would bet that Coach Shulman would disagree with you and since Indiana and Kentucky were also recruiting 44....I think it is a safe bet that UTC wanted him to. I am glad that he is going to Tennessee and not Alabama too.....GO BIG ORANGE!
  22. Sounds like East Ridge is playing better now. If it is at Grace I would give them the edge. But your question was who will win the battle of the big man....Jurick is Chattanooga's dominate big man. So Jurick.
  23. First of all if you had of won you would not be the 2nd best team....because several above had beat you. But since CSAS destroyed Temple you may move out of the top 10 even....CSAS is the real deal.
  24. Silly question about Jurick. A prime time coach like Pearl does not sign a guy like Jurick unless he is the real deal. He can't help it if he has no help on his team.....think man. Bruce Pearl knows alot more than you do,
