  1. They weren't even the best team in Blount County last year... /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  2. DB and Ooltewah are long trips, but for some reason, Soddy always feels like the longest! Nothing's as bad as Clarksville NW two years ago though! That'd be a wallet killer now. I've gotta keep everyone interested somehow...as soon as things cool down I'll have to light them back up /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  3. I think that the second game of the year going to Dobyns Bennett will tell us a lot about this young team. DB should have a very strong team this year. If we're able to make the long trip to Kingsport and win or give them a very, very good game, I'll be really excited about this season. It's always hard to lose 27 or so seniors, so that leaves a lot of uncertainty about this upcoming season. We will be good, but HOW good? That question should be answered fairly soon. The trips to Ooltewah and Farragut will be huge for us, Ooltewah is the Region favorite this year and Farragut has had our number for six straight games. If we split those two games, I think we'll get a home playoff game again. Anything can happen then!
  4. I second this...Darren will be AMAZING this year!
  5. August 22- Sevier Co. August 29- @ Dobyns Bennett September 5- Soddy Daisy September 19- @ Ooltewah September 26- @ Maryville October 3- @ Farragut October 10- Oak Ridge October 17- McMinn Co. October 24- @ Bradley Central October 31- Heritage
  6. I'm excited for the trip up to Kingsport this season! Hopefully William Blount can give DB a pretty good game
  7. What does everyone think about this year's WB team?
  8. 2006 and 2001. They were 10-0 as well.
  9. I like your range of statements...do you have any other words in your vocabulary?
  10. Which two games do you see Oak Ridge losing next year?
  11. I don't know the stats from the 80's...I was going on what was posted on here, since 1992, I believe. Alcoa was mentioned because someone said they weren't sure if WB was the second best team in the county.
  12. You are so stupid!! I've been saying all along that I WANT to play Alcoa. All of the William Blount players WANT to play Alcoa! The only ones that don't are the administration and Meadows, who is now gone. Don't say that the players are cowards, because they had nothing to do with this. There is nothing that they could do about it.
  13. Actually, I didn't forget the win in '04, I included that in the stats. Do they teach anyone to read at Alcoa? It's not something they should assume you know going into high school... Now that I think about it, with your stupid comments twisting my third place statements...maybe you aren't even IN high school yet. I'll even give Alcoa the wins in '05 and '06, but when you say Alcoa would have won last year, it's time to pass the peace pipe to someone else.
  14. I'm looking at the situation from EVERY possible angle...it's "noclue" who can only find one way for Alcoa to come out on top.
  15. In the three most recent games, WB leads the series. So, why don't you get out of the past and face that recently, and overall, WB is your daddy. We may not have any rings yet...but at least we're not the third best team in the county /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  16. It doesn't matter to me if any other William Blount fans are willing to say it or not, because I will. They just don't want to get everyone's panties in a wad, a problem I've never had. You'll be better than William Blount when you start leading the all-time series with us...until then be content with being ahead of Heritage...that's one 5A team you've got a leg up on!
  17. So is being the third best team /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  18. Actually, since William Blount dropped this "best ever" 2A team, our record has improved each season. I don't know a person in the world (besides you) who would call a 9-3 season mediocre. Yes, talent and coaching make a good team, but you've got to have more that one or two talented players who sign DI to have a good team. See that word I used there, TEAM. You've got to have a team of talented players, not a couple college recruits. A team of semi-talented players will beat a team with two stars and a below average supporting cast any day of the week. The point about Heritage having more gold balls than us is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Go to the TSSAA's website and you'll se exactly what they've accomplished, NOTHING! That's like saying a basketball championship from Friendsville is William Blount's /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  19. In '06 you gave them a fine game...but we're talking about the most RECENT, therefore relevant season. And you say that WB "droped" Alcoa because they don't want to get killed by a 2A school? Coming from a school who is LOSING the all-time series with William Blount, that's a pretty stupid comment.
  20. William Blount dropped Alcoa from the schedule because there's nothing to be gained from beating up on a 2A team. Coach Meadows exit from Alcoa wasn't exactly a happy parting on either side, it shouldn't come as a shock that he dropped the series. You know the answer to the second question. It's zero, you really showed those NE TN fans what's up.
  21. Let me guess, you're an AHS student, aren't you? Grammar was a giveaway. I think we've already been through what William Blount has done head-to-head versus Alcoa, and we lead the all-time series. Maybe "your" not up there with William Blount. When you give Maryville a game, you can put yourself in the same class as them. It must be embarassing, being a state champion, but only the third best team in the county. Consider a name change from "noquarter" to "noclue."
  22. All I see in the first few points is excuses...so I won't even touch that. 5A is the best classification because the school's are the biggest in the state of Tennessee, so they have that many more players to choose from. That's not my opinion, that's fact. As for your knock against Region 2-5A, our fifth place team went 7-3, and didn't make the playoffs. How many other regions in the state can say they have a team going 7-3 and being left out of the playoffs? If that doesn't signify an extremely competitive region, I don't know what does. You're right, a good way to judge TALENT in this area is by major D1 signees, but TALENT doesn't make a good team. You're saying that because Loudon has one or two players sign with major colleges, that it makes them a better TEAM than 5A schools? I'm sure Loudon, Austin East, and Powell would have made a real dent in those 5A standings /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. Maybe the next lesson should be topic correlation, since when you called William Blount "overrated," I was proving how that "overrated" William Blount team is still better than Alcoa. If you want to delve into the dictionary, Webster, the definition of overrated is as follows: "to rate or appraise too highly; overestimate:" My point was that Alcoa was overrated, and this point is still valid. Maybe you should go back to school, because Alcoa has been rated too highly and overestimated by many posters in this thread (no, not you, but my original point wasn't directed towards you) when they say that they would beat 5A teams like Dobyns Bennett. I never once said that they didn't live up to their 2A hype, they can have all the gold balls they like, but some still will say that they can hang in 5A. This is not true, and that is my point. Try your reading comprehension advice out sometime, it may work out for you. William Blount did NOT live up to the hype last year, and I'll be the first to admit this. Their lack of production in the post-season was very disappointing, but sometimes things just don't fall into place. This doesn't make them any less of a great team, and does not make them "overrated." They laid an egg, but they still had the most successful season in school history and were one point from winning the toughest 5A region in the state. Losing in the playoffs doesn't mean that we weren't a "legitimate state semi-finalist contender." It means that we had a bad game when we couldn't afford it. I don't have anything against any of the posters in this thread, but it's tough to listen to people say that William Blount is the third best team in the county when I know that's not true. I'm just sticking up for my school, as anyone else would do for theirs.
