  1. It is good to have you back stang. I agree with your post. Great post. The whole deal is that of jealously.I have said before that when you are on top, you are a target. We have to live with that. As long as they don't attack the young girls personally, I can live with it. Jackson County is a great place. I'm not saying there is not others also. But at jc young athletes have the facilities, teachers, coaches, and support of the fans and that is why they they turn out the young adults they do. We are so proud of Holli, as well as the other girls. Look forward to seeing you this fall, and the other fans to. (especially devilish)
  2. I want to thank ptguard 12 for keeping us informed on the local 16u team. great job as always, and the others that you covered also.
  3. 7a was the best in 08. these are young ladies that worked hard, with much sacrifice from their parents, and they deserve respect for what they accomplished. I don't know what they deleted from your posts, but your bitter and unacceptable put downs on here of young people who deserve respect, and schools that work for excellence in all parts of education, should not be allowed. I've made mistakes in my life, realizing that helped me to do better. I am working on that every day. Respect and love for others is a good beginning.
  4. That is the type of parental support, and school support that I was talking about. May I add to your post, that your daughter probably does not nor will not want to transfer from this excellent situation. Sports + academics= success.I only wish everyone had this opportunity.
  5. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> I agree with most of your post. I guess the only way to ever experience the dark side of sports is to see it first hand. That is what this subject is all about. I have known where the coach was going with the players, getting out and drinking with them, and of course playing them above better players. You might ask so what that is life. Well one coach married his player and everyone said that fixed the wrong. It is obvious this man was of low character, and was not even a good coach. So what am I saying? You need good athletic programs, good coaches, and parent envolement, ( in the right way ). You need good education programs, and they need coaches, and teachers that help prepare them for the rest of their life. That is what many people on here do not understand. Parents transfer their children most of the time to a school that will more greatly give their child a better opportunity in every way. This I believe will stay with them for life. More secure about their future. More secure about marriage, and raising their familys. I believe less chance of devorce. Do a better job of raising their children. This hasn't been brought up much here. The child who is in school where the parents only support their child, and don't care at all about the others. The coach who just deals with the parents, that have pull, and ignors the other parents. The child that gives up their once in a life time chance at sports, even though they have the ability. This can also go with the child through life. And it does, they just don't talk about it. So it is up to the community, to see that all children have their fair chance, and to grow up confident, secure in values, and prepared for life, coming about from a total good school program. And you can't depend on just the players parents. They are partial most of the time. Build a good program, that builds the young people for the future. Don't say you can't leave a bad school, you owe them loyalty. Thank God we still can give these young people a chance for a good future, by transferring to a school with super opportunitys, that will affect them for their entire life, and their children, and grandchildren. I hope this adds to the discussion, and causes more people to get envolved in their schools.
  6. Congrads to Miss Davis. Great player, very deserving, best of everything in the future.
  7. 99% of the people know it's true. And then there are the 1% like you. No society has ever been perfect. We must always strive to keep those like you from destroying the good that we have worked for. To keep life as best we can for the 99% to enjoy.
  8. Is it a transfer if sports are not involved? Do you think that a top coach in his field is going to risk never being able to coach again in order to recruit a player, when he already has a top program? The answer is obvious. I think that the top programs are critized because they are on top. Tennessee has the best overall girls high school program in the nation. Be adult and if it worries you this much go and visit the programs that you are concerned about. You will find out why the really good players, want to go there. One point when girls play aau ball sometimes they find out that their high school coach is very lacking in many ways. That does have a bearing on their decisions. When you look for a job, do you go to a place that has a poor reputation, or do you look for a top company to work for. Why do you strive to do better for you family, why don't you stay at your old job, because you would be more satisfied with your old job because of loyalty to them. This argument about young girls being forced to stay in a poor situation, just don't get it. Get in the real world.
  9. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" /> /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" /> Exactly, Eat your heart out 'i smell a gold ball heading for J.C Re cruit's ,transfer, or what ever suit,s your fantisy,iam going all the way with J.C. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  10. congradulations to holli from mr. and mrs. coach 07. a good person, great athlete, and addition to her new school that will have a big impact. best of luck holli you deserve it.
  11. Don't beat around the bush. You are talking about jc. Well they may just bring home another gold this year. And for all of you that don't know of any bad situations, send your daughters or relatives to these former schools and see how they fair. You need to get a new life, and not try to down the young people for trying to better their life. Also ask about all the great athletes that give up and quit sports, because of these poorly and badly run sports systems. I could send you probably twenty or thirty names that have quit at one of these schools in the last 20 years that were good if not great athletes. You need to address this more. Till later thank God that you people don't control the tssaa. These young people are only young once. The goal of all schools should be to advance character, and prepare them for adult life. Not to force them to either quit or endure terrible situations. One more thing it is usually the best players that give up, because they are the ones under the most pressure.
  12. I hope that monterey can improve their athletic situation. When good people come together, and sincerely want a good program, and are not selfish, they can do it. I have said before, and now once again players do not leave good situations. They will not leave their friends, they have known all their lives just for athletics. If people do not care about other children and only care for their own, you will have a failed system. I don't know anything about monterey high school, but I would guess the posts on here are probably right. If you don't work evereyday to maintain your home it will finally fall down. This is true of all school systems. It starts with careing about other people.
  13. indian- for as I know to your question on rbs no.
  14. 86 I was using the jobs statement to express how stupid some of the things that have been said on here. This is the first time in your earlier statement that I have known you to make an accurate statement about jc or the student athletes. Now I know you and your rbs friend have a right to say what you wish. But when you were accusing jc of recruiting leonard, after she said that she was coming to jc for personal reasons, you say that was not the truth, you are in fact accusing her and her family of lieing, thus demeaning the reputation of a young girl that has a reputation as someone you can depend on. That was what stirred me up. Now it looks like you have seen the light, and if so I commend you only Christ can condem you. I do apologize for the job remark. I hope we can somehow all work for the betterment of 7a sports.
  15. I submit to your knowledge and your accuracy in past subjects. Till you are proved wrong, go lady blue devils, and fanatic I ain't counting your boys out either. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  16. news from monterey, taylor atkins has resigned from there and on june 16 reported to jackson county for practice. no she was not recruited. she is a welcome addition to the team, and best of everthing for her. she is an excellent ball handler, and was a great assist to molly heady last year, /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> also for the team. this is a hard decision always for the parents. I congratulate them, your daughter is going to a school that will treat her fair, give her a chance to grow, teach her disipline, and give her a better chance at becoming a fine young person later in life. I do not mean in any way to say anything bad about her former school. It is just that she has entered a school that turns out the best,in my opinion.
  17. muffin I bow to your statement. I am not the best at english or typing. I do not claim to be of the caliber of most jackson county. But I can tell when a dog has flees, he always scratches. muffin I enjoy basketball and I like to have fun. I truly want to see all young people enjoy this part of their lives. You surely know that I am telling the truth about your local school. I more than anyone would like to see it do better. first you have to admit whats wrong and put people in place to make it better. You have had enough good playeers quit there, to have won 4 or 5 state championships. All young people everywhere deserve a fair chance. It is up to you and other people to see to that.I respect your right to be on here, tellit like it is and if anyone does not ,I may call attention to that. If I don't call me on it, and tell me where I am wrong. Your friend 07
  18. Thank you phargis. First off I get fired up when people who don't like jim brown for what ever reason, tell lies that could hurt the integrity of find young athletes. jim brown can defend himself. the young girls are not old enough to have to deal with nor should they have to. I do have knowledge of leonard and her former situation. You have these problem parents and players everywhere. however you need a strong coach to deal with these things, and just say we are not going to have this here. cr and jc coaches probably do the best job at this and thus the best programs. This year cr has the horses and a great coach, till someone proves otherwise they are no.1. Jackson county has athletes and time will tell how it comes along. they are no.2 till proven otherwise. a more competitive 7a this year, picket county should be better, clay county a team to watch, someone could surprise, monterey must rebuild they could have a good team, players coming back, rbs lost I think 3 seniors, and had 5 to quit. They have two star players but they always do. rebuilding year at best. best of luck, good wishes to all the teams.
  19. You never win an argument with uneducated, poorly raised, low IQ, people who cannot read or understand english. Having said that 86 and muffin we need people like them because someone must work at the sawmills, and trash trucks, and carry on our sewer system. No I am wrong they probably could not get hired there.I feel sure that clarkrange did not recruit molly heady. Jim Brown did not recruit Leonard. She did not go to jackson county to win championship games. She went because of a better situation. The championship is a good extra. Bad treatment at her former school, and little chance to do better was the reason. I know nothing but feel sure that molly ran in to the same problems at monterey. That want to win at these schools but, only if their little darling gets the ball. having said that they have friends at these schools that always support them. They don't know what goes on behind closed doors. the resentment by the players, pushed on by the jealous parents, The slurs, the hate every day, not playing as a team or to their potential. Getting in their lockers, and throwing they items away. day after day. then you are ignorant enough to start this recruiting every little bit. yes I am fed up with your foolish statements that demean young girls. when they are in this situation, and they can go to cr or JC and jim brown maintains disipline, and fair treatment and is easily the best coach in the state why would't anyone want to change. If you got proof that I am wrong, say it otherwise don't put these young girls at jc mostly for trying to have a better life. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  20. I know that I have said more than I probably should have. I love basketball in high school and college, and I was trying to maybe help some see that a lot of the message here is not rational but bias. This is the last I will say on this two final thoughts. The players owe nothing to the school and community they play for but to play hard when they represent their area and school. If the poor old coach is a great coach then he can get a job somewhere else if one player leaving ruins him. Most of the time the coach, school and community that lose a player instead of looking to see why this player has left, they blame the school they choose to go to.I do not know of a single player that has transferred that did not become a better player, a better person, and a better student, with a more positive outlook on life. A more promising future. One exception kaci ferrris and she went back into her original school, a failed system, best of luck to her. Clarkrange I like lamar rogers and his wife, I respect your school, Jim Brown is an asset to every school in 7A. He raises the bar. He makes you better thru competition. He sets the example for how to turn out student athletes, I stress the word student. He puts as much empasis on education as he does sports. See that is the reason I put articles on here. Now this cr is probably your year. Get over what jc did to you last year, this only cheapens your program when you get on here with false and smear accusations. People in other areas don't know what to believe. Work to improve all of the schools in 7a although with some it seems a hard process. Don't knock me unless you can prove otherwise. We need more devine guidence and less politics and may I say hate. a
  21. The point is that if all the 7A teams were medicre, or not very good, there would not be large crowds in the gyms towatch them. The good or great teams help all the teams in the long run, by creating more interest in the game. high school is different from college altogether. They give schlorships to athletics and need a full comittment by the students. You want the best players in high school, there is nothing monetary you can offer them. It is illegal to ask them to change schools. You are right that lamar rogers and other coaches in7a welcome quality players to their program. That is one of the reasons they have been successful. Now name all the coaches in tssaa that would turn down a quality player to their program. I respect you but yes let the players come, it helps 7a and it helps the players and their parents. We don't need the political correct hold back the great players., so leroy can play even if he could not play checkers with someone showing him how to move. What is hard to understand about this. If you are good enough, work hard enough, you can play at cr and jc. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  22. I hope you are right. You know we are in an era where a lot of people hate excellence or success. With the only exception being if it is their own little darling. You would not pay good money to go see a poor college team, or pro team. The problem in high school or jr high is many parents had rather see it do bad unless their little darling has led the assault. Here in the 7A you can see some of the best sports in the state. It is in change a lot. The validictorian at JC played on the girls basketball team. A star player. We are asked to help pay for a system, that holds back the bright, till the lesser brilliant can try to catch up. To wait for the illegal aliens to learn english so they can catch up tax free. The point is we are fortunate to have great athletic teams in 7A and to be able to go enjoy them. I know of one school that has not had a state championship, because of no leadership, and have had more good material than any school in the district. They have had more good players leave their program than clarkrange or JC have had to field their teams with. Don't cry because another player has transferred, be glad that she has the opportunity, and we will get to watch her play. Don't blame cr or jc because you have hurt your program trying to force the coach to play your little darling even though thay couldn't dribble a ball if someone helped them.
  23. Senator well said. As I study about this, in college you have a sports scholarship that usually pays everything. Now if someone wants to go somewhere else they do set out one year. But they are making a hardship on this college team because they have turned down someone else in order to give this person a schlorship. Not so in high school, you have a different situation. When a player moves to another school there was no aid involved, no one denied a chance to be on the team because of this outstanding player. We expect our better students to want the best education. Well many if not most of these exceptionally talented players come from poor homes. To move to upperman, jc, or clarkrange and be in the best systems, allows them to have a chance to showcase their talents, and to pursue a college funded education. Don't forget that these parents make, sometimes a hard financial decision, so their kids can have a better opportunity. 7A is the top district in the state, has been for 20 to 25 years and there is always , people who critisize those on top. They do come to the best managed and most successful schools. This for now is still america.
  24. Ms. Roper we are getting started early this year. First I feel that most talented players, work hard and are really charged to succeed. I would guess that molly was disapointed last year, and felt that it was the year they (monterey) would make their move. They just did not have the players, and late in the season ran out of gas. Now as you say everyone knows cr is loaded. They are the team to beat if anyone can. I really disagree when you say this cheapens anything. That is my strong disagreement with you. They bus kids to school in big cities. They do not have a choice. Here it is a chance many times, to have fun and ensure your future in athletics. No one is cheapened. CR is going to benefit by having an excellent enviorement and situation. Since you brought it up, the rbs situation was very different. There was no guarantee they would win the state,. but two years ago led all but about two minutes against forrest in the final four, losing on the very last. There was no reason to think RBS could not compete last year. The lack of control with players and parents, was the problem and finally wrecked havoc on their girls program, and also the reason for their decline in other sports. Make no mistake, they had the material. NOw as to how much the rbs player helped jc I leave to other evaluations. It speaks for itself. I enjoy your comments and respect your right to express them.
  25. It is not going to help those of us that support jc. But let me ad that I don,t feel anything went on here but a young lady wanting to do the best she could while being envolved in high school athletics. Congradulations to her and Clarkrange. Everyone should support her right to attend the school of her choice. I have said before to those that do not like this, get envolved in your school, hire quality coaches, and let him or her run the athletics. Do like a small business, if the competition is doing better, then change your operation. Coaching, community envolvement, financial Support, cooperation with players and family and school. I feel for montery, but take this as a challenge to get better.
