  1. bluelion...come to this game tonight. it should be a great game and i will let others answer about the style of play though.

I have seen Notre Dame a couple of times this year but have not seen a Boyd game in 2 years at least. I have read in several posts about Boyd's extreme physical play, etc. Does it really appear that the coach teaches them to not defend within the rules? Do they average alot of yellow cards in a game and have they gotten a red card this year? Just curious and this may be the game I want to see tonight.

  2. not really quick to jump on cincy at all. have really held off for a long time. he may or not have been referring to either matching names to numbers or doing self promoting....just meant it was obvious and has been for a long time. but that is all about that. i don't usually post in a negative way.

Wow, quick to jump on cincy I see. I believe all cincy was doing was referring as to who Baylor's #2 and #10 were. In the first post, Dins didn't know their names, so cincy was just informing us of who they were. That's the way I read it anyway.

  3. i know you are biased as zander is your son. he is a good player but not even top 2 on baylor's talented team. reading all of your posts it is zander, zander, zander. way too obvious and everyone in chattanooga soccer caught onto it a long time ago.

    Baylor #10 - Kelly Smith

    Baylor #2 - Zander Davis

  4. ccs beat them what 4 or 5 to 1 the first time. they have not ended up well. baylor crushed them 3-0 in a game that was not that close and boyd upset them at csas so they are kindof down. curious why you think it will be close playing at ccs

CCS will win a close one.

  5. this is what we have worked for all year....to get to this point. looking at all of the district championship games I'll bet these would have been the teams picked in the preseason to be in their championship. like nike07 said no eliminations just for seeding. but everyone wants to win. go irish!

  6. Great night for high school soccer and soccer fans. Sad it will end for half of the teams tonight...but all had a great season to get this far.

  7. You will do great at state it sounds like. Saw the box score where you guys had 24 shots so the offense must have been very aggressive. Good luck.

did not get on here until this morning. pretty disappointed that we did not win. james reason scored on a header off of a cross from tackling. great goal past the ccs keeper. we held the lead until they made a nice play with 14 minutes left in the game. we really wanted the win but have to shake it off with playoffs here. go owls!

  8. go away....this post was deleted once. can the powers that be take away hotgothchick and reddick's ability to post. reddick does the same trash to baylor. grow up.

i was wondering what everyone else thinks about mccallie's b.s. seed? the whole team stinks and their record is strait up garbage. plus, they are all gay because they go to mccallie. any thoughts

  9. bluelion i read you takes on the rematches next week and agree. we will (ND) await the winner of the hixson game for our next opponent. while ccs takes on east ridge in a rematch. should be an interesting game. can't count anyone out yet....but a notre dame and ccs rematch could happen....at notre dame. looking forward to a great week of soccer.

i would take baylor to advance also for a rematch with mccallie. if that happens that would be a tremendous game. alot of great soccer in chattanooga next week.

sorry i don't know anything about AAA.

  10. reddick that's pretty bad man. why don't you just save your posts for mccallie games. will we see you on the field tonight at the notre dame and mccallie game? it would be an upset for sure for us to win but we will give it our all. so easy to rip guys and hide behind a name isn't it.

nah I'm just kidding, I think Davis is one of the more overratted and talentless players in the area. His footskills are decent at best, but his athletic ability is lacking and often makes up for it my fouling other players. He loses his composure too easily and often gets shut down by supirior defenders. In Baylor's big games he hasn't managed to make any kind of impact. I saw him blow the Baylor/McCallie game by missing a point-blank shot from outside the six (granted the MC keeper made a great save, but that's unforgivable). I would be suprised if he continued his soccer career. He's a mediocre player and Baylor must be glad that they have Smith and Paden in the middle to make up for it. By the way, Danny V rarely has to make a save. Maybe that's a credit to stout defence, but I rarely see him do anything. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Baylor wins 1-0

  11. I see what you are saying for sure. You really can't tell alot about a game from a box score. Glad to hear they played with passion as I am sure that it was real tough for your team after losing 2 of their teammates. Good luck with Farragut.

    quote name='BigG' date='Apr 28 2008 - 08:35 PM' post='826768821']

Thanks ND! My guys REALLY pulled it together tonight. What you guys can't see in the box score was the passion that the guys played with, especially the first 10 minutes. We have been lacking that passion since the injuries, and it was great to see it tonight. This is one of the reasons why I am not too upset with the loss.

Farragut on Thursday! Should be a great one!

  12. Sorry Big G to hear about your 2 starters lost for the season. You are such a positive coach that your team will pull together for the playoffs.

You were close! We lost 3-0 tonight. 2 coming off... you guessed it! Throw ins! What a powerful weapon they have. We even practiced for it but they used it so well. They scored a really nice third goal off of a cross off a direct. It was 3-0 at the half, and stayed that way for the rest of the game.

I thought we played a nice first half, but not as great of a second half. I saw Akula there (I think) and I hope that he can give a good synopsis of the match.

  13. I agree with you on this. I do see McCallie winning in a much closer game...but you never know that is why it is played. If you look at soccerman08 posts in other threads he is pretty cocky for sure. He even told me to shut up on one. Whatever.

    Won't happen.........

  14. You are right. We (ND) play them later in the week also. Baylor has allowed only 1 goal this season also. I will go with McCallie to win 2-0.

Hmmm - don't see that many goals from either team. I see 1-0 McCallie or maybe a 0-0 tie. Hasn't McCallie only given up 3 goals all year?

  15. Does it really matter at this point. What matters is in the playoffs. If I remember correctly you guys were ranked tops last year and Baylor won state. I would rather have that anyday. However on rankings...not sure how McCallie tying Baylor at McCallie moves them up. Regardless they really don't matter.

Finally, McCallie is over Baylor in these rankings. I was wondering when it was going to happen.

  16. True but you can't tell by scores. They are never a team to run a score up....never have been. I know in their last game they won 4-0....and could have won by however many they wanted I guess. They brought their entire jv team and played the jv and anyone else they does not get to play. Even played the other 2 goalies in the 2nd half. Alot of teams won't do that just to get starters stats.

it would really surprise me if Baylor scores more than two goals. They haven't been scoring much even in the lesser games but you never know with Baylor. They are a very strong team.

  17. I am so proud of ND. We would rather of had a win but to tie at CCS for the district and top seed is sweet. Especially because no one on here has given the Irish a fighting chance. Have read how we are no good this year, etc. Yes we lost alot from last years team but we have heart. Coach Jim always has his teams prepared. Go Irish!

  18. Man you can't take it can you. I have nothing to even do with this but your quotes made me want to respond. You said you agreed with 100% of what he said. He said it was a blantant handball....so I guess you do not agree with 100% now? Whatever. What great eyes you have that it hit in the armpit area.....laughable. I was not even there as ND had a game....your quotes are just funny that's all. And I am done....because it really doesn't matter to me. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

the handball wasn't blatant. it hit the defender somewhere around the armpit after bouncing off of his chest. even if it was a valid handball, which is debatable, if this is the only thing you can find wrong with the officiating, then kudos to the ref. and cincyred, with the "shoe on the other foot" even agreed that the refs did a good job. as for baylor, im sure a win with a PK would have been better than a tie, but anyone would rather win off of a legitimate goal, especially if said goal was the deciding factor. please bother to read what other people have posted about this subject before you attack me for bias, especially about something as controversial as refereeing. thanks.

  19. Good to see that you agree with 100% of his post since he too saw that the ref missed a "blantant handball on a Baylor attack" that would have been game changing. So only good job mr. referee on calling a spectacular game since you are a McCallie student or player. If the shoe was on the other foot you would not feel the same way for sure.

I agree 100% with this post, especially about the refereeing. the calls were consistent, he let the boys play, which is better for this kind of a game. and even though jesse and zander were both deserving of yellows, it was in the best interest for the control of the game not to award them. great job mr. referee. he called a spectacular game, which is usually rare in chattanooga /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

  20. I just hope that we can prove these predictions wrong. I know it is an uphill battle though for sure and this is supposed to be a rebuilding year for us. Everyone keeps saying we are overrated. That's not our fault as we lost alot of players last year. Whoever puts out polls put us up high and now we are not winning everyone says we are overrated. I don't think it is too late still but we have to pull of some upsets. This year we should be the underdog.
