  1. Yeah the team has around 60 but a few are banged up so there are about 55 playing Thurs.
  2. Yes I said it, the Highlanders better not overlook the Buffs. The Buffs will be different than what they were under Barry Carter. THeir new coach has been in very successful programs and he knows what it takes to win. I'm not saying who will win, but I am saying it won't be like the games of old between these two schools.
  3. Is Greeneville over Jeff County an upset? Greeneville Wins in this one!
  4. The Buffs one 21-10. The Buffs had nine turnovers and the D still held them to 10 points.
  5. I live in the west end of Greene County and I'm feeling good about my boys for this season. Dont be surprised when the buffs make some noise in region 1-2A.
  6. My man was talking about East being 2-1 against Greeneville when he was in school. Thats not too bad of a record for a 5A team playing a very small 4A team. Anyway who cares, the game this week is between GreenEville and Jeff. County not East, so I'm done talking about East until GreenEville heads back to Burke-Toney. This week will be a great game to watch. The old-school veer versus a more new school type of offense. Defense is the key for this week. Who will be ready? Also who is in better shape for this week? It will be a hot one on Friday night.
  7. I don't understand some folks on here. Greeneville has ran 4 wide for five years now (Thats not very new). The offensive coordinator is back from a 2 year vacation from football, fresh and ready to go. The offense is almost identical to the 2002 Devils who had over 5000 yds of total offense and played in the quarter finals. Someone said Greeneville hasn't been in the playoffs since 98'. the last two seasons were the first two seasons since the early 90's that Greeneville hasn't made the playoffs. The only team that really has any reason to talk smack about the Devils is players of old from Morristown West not East. P.S. Greeneville was beat by Maryville in the semi-finals of the 2000 season
  8. I saw a different look from the Greene Devils in their last scrimmage, what will be something to look for from the Devils?
  9. I'm from this region and I'm just wondering what different people are thinking about the upcoming season.
  10. Greeneville High School will be a team that will surprise many this season. Also the Devils are very young so look for the program to begin to do some serious building in the years to come. Science Hill and Greeneville played in a 7 on 7 on Tuesday and Science Hill did not impress me too much. To have the athletes that they do, they are trying to be way to complex. Throw the ball downfield to the tall receivers and hand the ball off to that huge running back. He looks like a created player on a video game. Greeneville has some old faces coming back to help and also the new faces that are going to be known shortly after the season begins. Former Mr. Football Dustin Moore is coming back to help and so is former Offensive Coordinator Caine Ballard. Ballard was coordinator in 2002 and 2003. Both of those teams played in the quarterfinals.
