I'm all for whining and crying!!!! I hate it when that kind of obvious crap happens. They have finally tried to cut down on that in football and some other sports and I think that basketball should be no different on these obvious bad calls.

Barb, I think the officiating is pretty good except for this short, very round, ref. He calls the weirdest calls--he can't possibly see some of them because he is too short and standing behind the girls. I have noticed that they are calling a lot of over the backs and reach ins so the girls need to keep their hands to themselves.

Well, I suppose it could be taken that way, but I have followed lots of girls over the years and I have watched girls move from county to county, from East TN to Middle TN, from West to Middle TN because they think middle TN has the best to offer their kid. I know you have been to the Boroh and MT Juliet, and all of the places in between and their population draw plus the kid move in draw is incredable (sp?). Case in point is the post above about some girl's move from siegel to WC. I think that East TN does a GREAT job with what they have and the moderate to modest ability that they have to draw local talent, but the ability of the middle TN schools to draw talent is greater than ours. AND I am very proud of all of our East TN teams. I want us to wax the floor with the rest of the state--ha ha. Actually, I am very impressed with South Greene at the moment. They are a great AA school. Well coached in their thuggy way.

Wilson Central is the biggest team I have seen so far in Tennessee. They have a large number of people on their team AND they are also a tall-beefy team. I think the next biggest team is DB. We play DB today and I think it will be a struggle for us-MW. We are not large, Hall is our biggest player, with the next biggest starter being Smith at 138 LBS. We will have to run them to death to win. CockeCounty could have given WC a better game. They were obviously tight and they fouled Iashia Hassell so many times it was stupid. Their was no need for all of the over the backs she got. Not smart playing on their part. I agree that (older) Hassel is better than Hall--she is better than Dickson. That will be a GAME. Isn't Wilson Central one of those "basketball schools" like Livingston Acadamy and McMinn Central and Maryville in football that everybody who thinks their kids have talent moves to so they can get a college scholarship? As to the coaching, it is easy to be a "good coach" with all of that talent and size sitting on the bench. For a local team (with a MUCH lower population draw) which is not a "basketball school," MW, Cocke Co, and Greeneville have done extrememly well. Also, South Greene wins my vote for the scrappiest team in the tourney so far. I have to say, they don't mind running the fast break down and giving a chuck and getting the foul. I don't think I have ever seen so many obviously deliberate fouls. I know everybody's been wondering where I have been so I will give an update!! I ate so many peanuts at work yesterday that I got sick and laid in the bed all night with an acute stomach ache!!! How is everybody's tourneys going?

I could be wrong, often am, but what I think you are seeing is that everybody is tired of Gville being number one and given ANY opportunity will back someone else.

For your info, newblue, West already beat Upperman. They beat them pretty well this summer with a healthy team. We lost to Upperman without Hall, but Hall is back and we would beat them again!! For your info, we smeared LA as well. Oh, and we already got Cocke. Why don't U play McMinn Central? I bet Upperman can't get past them.

People wise we aren't deep!! As you pointed out, it doesn't matter how good you are if any one of our players gets hurt that is a serious blow!!

First half will be very close, I am sure. Too much intensity for there not to be. We are not really that deep guys. Once you get past the five, we have Shelby, Allison, Lauren, and Janie. That's it. We are not flush with people like Jeff or Cocke or even Gville.

They met 3 times last year and Smith held Dickson to a VERY respectable low pionts for 2 out of the 3. Hall is no freshman, and she is a Miss Basketball in her own right. Smith is a sophmore now and her D is MUCH better than last year. Fanney and Goins are quick, quick, quick. It will be a fight and hopefully the refs won't get in the way. Any takers on my bet?? I have it as a Thursday game as well but that doesn't mean anything!! I am being quiet this week because it is a buns pincher!! East on Tuesday and Gville on Thursday makes for a tight week!! I am willing to bet Hall is on the bench inside of 5 at Gville. Any takers???? Is anybody else having a problem of getting knocked off the net in Explorer? The error report says it is an internet problem--I think it is conncected with micromedia flash. Anybody know anything?

Boy, I thought MWest was up by half by 11, Hall already had a double double at the half, Goins only had 3 at the half, and West put it away in the 3rd.

I think that Greenville's talent is a LITTLE down, but I think that the rest of the team's talent (with the exception of Cherokee) is up. I think that even if Gville has last year's talent they would lose at least 2 this year. what abt the Gville, Cherokee game?

We play at Morristown West first and then SG later in the season. I am really looking forward to it. I feel like we are behind because of our soft intro schedule. Cocke has played the tought ones already.
