  1. West is playing Campbell County at home on Thursday. Taylor is back but not 100%. I hope that she will be ready by the Cocke game. She wasn't with us at all when we played in Shelbyville.
  2. Ok guys, I have decided to go to ref school to become a ref. Not to start old garbage, but I have never seen a team have as many under 60 second calls to win the game as East last year. And everybody knows my position on the Gville refs. I think West needs a ref in their corner so I am going to sign up!! How do I do that? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  3. Word is Depew (sp?) ate Dupree's lunch in that game. Way to go Cocke!!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  4. No--only the upcoming 15U team is the Flight team for the Trotters. The Select is a different group entirely, but they are also sponsored by NIKE. Kind of confusing. Wow, I am tickled that Cocke beat Webb!! I can't wait to do some ribbing!!
  5. Sooo, how did Cocke do this weekend? West did well up at Kingsport on their last Thursday deal but lost 2 out of 3 on Saturday in Shelbyville.
  6. Update people, update!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. I know MOWest is coming!!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  8. Do scouts come to this tourney? I have to say, I'm impressed by the talent. It is almost the entire state from last year.
  9. YEP Barb, I think that truer words were never spoken!! Greeneville probably will be the only local team to advance. I think I deserve a home cooked bean dinner for this. I will wear a shirt that says Nutty Buddy and I expect VIP ref treatment!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  10. Yeah, we noticed!!! Cocke and Morr West have the two toughest teams in the whole tournament!!! The winner of the Greeneville/Sycamore game plays the winner of the West Greene Maryville game. Big whoop. The winner of the West Shelbyville game moves on to Dobyns-Bennett or Buena, Ca. Good Grief--I wanted to last more than a day!!!!! Dang!!! Southe Green/Farragut North Greene/Lausanne West/Shelbyville DB/Buena (CA) Greeneville/Sycamore WestGreene/Maryville Cocke/Wilson Central Chuckey-Doak Prairie, WA
  11. Just saw the brackets for the Greenbank tournament--how were they picked? It appears to be heavily stacked with teams in the other bracket. (other than Greeneville bracket).
  12. I see that now!! Thank you! Sometimes I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box. Lasy year you called me peanut--I like nutty buddy better. Thanks!
  13. Well, I am going to visit the roflo with the bandage on his face again. I understand the roll on the floor laughing but I don't get the bandage on his face. Is it a bandage or am I just seeing that wrong? Also, I don't think that GreenEville is going to be "nothing" this year, just next year. This year they will be right at the top with a couple of other teams. I am just REALLY TIRED of the lack of effort from the other schools in the conference. Almost everybody in the conference now has a team that can at least make it competitive and should give Greeneville a run this year. I feel like we have this thing with Greeneville like UT does with Florida--they are in our heads. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  14. Really? Is that the secret? Do you really do a home cooked? What is the Bean Barn? /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I have another question--What does this little roflo mean? I have been trying to figure it out since last year!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  15. Your are missing something--I think it is a dig on me because I said that Greeneville won't be much without Dickson next year. I guess it is no secret by now--I dislike Greeneville quite a bit. I think they have the cheatenst refs in the state. It wouldn't matter if Candice Parker touched down in Greeneville, she would lose to their refs. He would be fouled out in 2 minutes. And for those who are going to scream, I am going to offer last year's Greenebank Classic that was SO bad that a separate thread was started about the officiating.
  16. We play tonight at Tennessee High, and then we are going to Shelbyville on Saturday for their play day. It will be interestng to see how they play without Taylor. She isn't supposed to come back till next Wednesday. Hopefully they will be on their toes and play well!! We don't have the height without Taylor which is a problem in AAA play. I don't think Greenville will be able to dominate on D like they have the past few years. The other teams in the conference have FINALLY developed and gotten enough talent to have well rounded teams. When you only have a couple of good players, teams are easy to defend. When you have a team full of good players like East, Cocke, West, and Jeff (my pick for underestimated), it will be one on one and somebody will get beat.
  17. Well, the suspense between Cocke and West will be over early. They start conference play with each other. Taylor should be back by then--we should be ready to roll!
  18. That's okay, as you can tell I'm a little pumped about the season!! As SpongeBob Squarepants says, "I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!" We haven't heard from East lately--where r u Trotter Coach??? Do we have a Cherokee Rep?? Doesn't anybody look at Coach T anymore?
  19. Did Buda and Depew play AAU this season? If so, who with? Did KGC fold last year or are they done for the upcoming year? How has Depew added more to her game?
  20. Sorry to hear that Lady Red. You are right, injuries are mostly sad, especially ACL injuries. I know you know this, but don't rush the recovery. ACL injuries are tricky things--push too hard too soon and you can set the knee up for tendinitous. Where and when is everybody's first game--I'll go first--Mwest is at the Upper East playday this Thursday.
  21. I've given this a lot of thought, shocking, I know. Obviously the "program" has to start in middle school. Except for the really talented player, it is too late to develop a team (players) in high school. So, that being said, how good are the feeder schools? Well, based on that, I would say that West will dominate after this year. West View has rolled over all the middle schools in the area year after year. Cloninger (sp?) is an excellant coach and drills the girls over and over in fundamentals. She also travels as a team in fall ball. I know that Galyon also drills the girls in fundamentals. They run, run, run some more and then scrimmage until they drop. Sents has a wonderful conditioning program for the off season. She does weights, running, foot conditioning, etc. I think the sleeper this year is Jeff County. They had a hard start last year but have the talent to be right up there this year. They wore East out both games last year which shocked me to the core.
  22. He He--Thanks for setting me straight on my spelling!! Ignorant just means unaware so I can't fault anybody for that. I was unaware although I should be aware--I've only lived here all my life!! Seriously, though, my daughter plays AAU and we were getting into the car after a loss to a team that has a D1 recruit, taller than Dickson, and a parent from the opposing team ran over to me to tell me what a great game we played, blah, blah, blah. Then, out of the blue, that parent told me that even if they didn't have D1 recruit they would still be a great team. D1 recruit, like Dickson, scored 2/3 of the points they had, almost all of the rebounds, and had most of the blocked shots. I was amazed that this babble was coming out of his lips. You guys might be right, GreenEville might be a force without Dickson, but I will have to see it to believe it. And not against AA teams. Even my daughter's high school team rips through AA teams.
  23. Don't have clue!! Nobody is talking and other than Ray I don't know any posters. Where are you Jeff fans?
  24. I've heard two stories on the East point guard. One is Meghan Blayock (sp?) and the other one is that tiny freshman from I can't remember where. Whoever it is, I think the IMAC has about the best points in the state. I would put Fanney, Buda, and Nelson up against anybody in the state.
