I would LOVE to get out of the armchiar and coach but you have to be a certified teacher in order to be the HEAD coach. Assistant coaches have no authority-they sit on the sidelines and pat the players on the back when they come off the court. School boards are notoriously rife with politics and a change from them may NEVER be forthcoming. I guarantee you if they opened up the coaching jobs to the general public there would be a line out the door to take the job. When a coach has been in the same job for as long as ours has EVERYBODY knows what he is going to do. In the private sector it is recommended that a person change jobs every 10 to 11 years. This keeps him fresh and open to new opportunities. Is this armchair coaching a personal sore spot with you? Are you/have been a coach?

Bearclaw, That's a great attitude!! You have the same mentality that keeps giving Foolmoore a raise and contract extension at UT every year!! It takes more guts to get a Bruce Pearl than it does to keep a Phil. Both of these "bad calls" came at the very end (within 2 seconds) of the game and resulted in East winning. The radio announcer for the West game said that it was a controversial call and that it was a shame that the game was decided that way. Say what you want, when it stinks it stinks.

Anybody have an update on this?? Who scored for whom and how many?

Thanks for the correction on the name spelling--not my cup of tea!! Forgive my ignorance, but who exactly, is the "atheltic talent" coming from East High? What did they do with it last year? Every team seems to have lots of talent so what sets East apart?

I think that Greenville will continue to dominate--it is hard to beat their post players. Doesn't that one girl play for the Flight 16U team? Cocke County has a ringer in Dephew, and doesn't Jeff Kyle's 13U team hit the fresman scene this year?
