As for the fans there will be several but not near the crowd follows the Lady Grizzlies as they do th Grizzlies SAD but true. Oh Bballmomma has been watching from the top of the arena and was shocked to see how our ladies played even though they beat Union County then come back to lose against Claiborne...gee whiz. Roach is a big loss in the defense of these girls she would kick butt all the time might not could shoot worth a flip but she can play defense. Acuff, Waldroup and Crews have all been ok during the tourney but sure didn't stand out like they needed to. But i will say last nite Crews kicked up the points while Acuff made the assists and blocks but couldn't hardly buy a shot but that's shows a good player when the offense isn't there she kicks up the defense. Waldroup sure didn't play to her potential but she knows how to rebound. The guards were ok to but i think next year Maples and CAbbage will be more helpful as they'll have a year behind them and the experience of H.S ball. Of course for anyone who was there last nite in the second half these girls for the first time this year ( well the games i've seen ) actually played like a team and showed NO signs of selfishness. If this play will carry over the first region game should be a good one. CONGRATS to Crews and Waldroup on the all tourney team. yep i was there and i'm also glad to see them come alive. I agree Crews and Acuff still need to get rough and tough and drive in to draw the foul ( then of course hit the free throws). Roach is by far the best defensive player on the team but still disappointed in the pointguards i don't understand why coach R don't let Roach or Spaw run point both have experince and don't get intimidated. Maples and Cabbage might of been great in middle school but as we all know HS is a different animal. I'm not saying that to be negative towards them both young ladies have a lot of potential but in the same sense it's not fair to them to be put in a postition they're not ready for. I think next year it'll be a different story with them. Glad to see Waldroup stepping up. I think these girls do have a good shot @ winning the conference if they'll stick together and play team ball. Noticed Acuff had a shiner after the game....way to take one for the team. Can't wait to see GHS play CHS on friday night Crews and Acuff step up and be the leaders everyone knows you are! Yep i was there and based on how Chuckey-Doak played Grainger should of blown them out of the water. Their 3 pointers is all that kept them in the game. It's sad when your to posts( Acuff and Crews) had to leave their man to come out and try to guard the shooters. I agree Acuff and Crews needs to step it up a lot they both are very talented players and can bring more than they do. Your lack of a true point will unfortunately be the downfall this year. When your post can handle the ball better than who is "supposed to be a pointguard" somethings wrong. If Crews and Acuff had more speed then one of them would be my point. Roach has increased her defense tremendously and hope she keeps it up. Not real sure on the two little points both are good players but not up to playing girls 2-3 years older the maturity level just isn't there "yet" but i'm sure next year they both will make a huge inpact it'll be to late for Crews but a big help for Acuff and Roach next year. Crews is a great kid and i'd love to see them win big this year so she can go out with a bang. She's played all four years and played with a lot of heart and soul. MAke sure we get an update on the games next week ole bballmomma will be on vacation but i'll be checking the message boards. I hope every family has a blessed and safe Thanksgiving! bigbluefan4ever thanks for the play by play no i wasn't there but i will be there for Chuckey Doak got some kin there but never fear i'll be rooting for both teams can't 4get my hometown girls. I'll be toning it down seems like i aggrevated some with my reply b4 but i never meant to and when Acuff makes it to the big league i'll be glad to let her know who's been rooting her on from behind the scenes. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ph34r:" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Acuff caught my attention years ago as a 9-10 year old due to her abilities and coachable personality years later she's only improving but still very coachable and a leader when she needs to be can't wait to see where she lands in college world. Be careful what you bet Toughnut i'd hate to see anyone lose money in these hard times....unless you have it to throw away then send it my way. I'm not Taylor's mom but i can assure you she's not even 6'1"......i still say 5-11 to 6-0 max. I was standing next to her @ the bluestar event in Memphis and a girl that was listed as 6'1" and Tay wasn't as tall as that kid. Don't matter how tall she is what matter is she can play ball. Personally i can't wait for HS ball to start so we can see how much these young ladies have improved from AAU season.

Does anyone have any takes on how the Lady Grizzlies will be this year and which player/players will stepup and be a leader this year? I did hear that they would have a freshman point guard this year and that Acuff had committed to a college. Can someone tell us are these rumors or facts? We all wanna know and remember you heard it first here on coacht!!!!

Taylor is a awesome player and will be a big asset to M.W but i think 6'2" is stretching it i think 5'11" maybe 6' is pushing it but regardless she's a great kid and bball player.....TAKE IT TO THEM TAY!!!!!!!

Grainger County has two awesome guards coming in Kara Cabbage and Mara Maples both play for the Trotters. It's rumored that these two young ladies has been praticing with the varisty and will be playing varisty. Again, rumored that Maples will be staring varsity as the PG if so she'll be one of the elite few who has started varisty as a freshmen the last one to my knowledge was Acuff. These girls coupled with Acuff and Crews and the returning varisty Grainger County High should have a great season. I think the jealousy and one man teams have graduated good ole RHS. Best of luck to all the incoming freshmen and upper classman for a safe and injury free year. Remember upper classman U was once a freshman to. FYI: Sportsmanship is a talent that is instilled in great players and leaders! GO GRIZZLIES!!!!!!!!!

ptguard12 what's your take on this tourney and the outcome? What happened to the KGC Lady Pride this weekend? Didn't get to make it to Cookeville so can some please update us.

HOLY MOLY what happened @ RHS last night? I've never in all my life seen these girls play like they did last night or lack of play. Brabson and Crews couldn't buy a shot but at least Stratton, Edde could hit something and Waldrop and Crews seemed to be the only ones rebounding except when roach came in she helped a little. I really don't understand what's happened to these girls in the last 4 or 5 games. Does anyone have any thoughts on the problem or problems? I really hope these girls get it together before Districts. COME ON LADY GET YOUR HEADS UP AND PLAY BALL! Nice to see Ashlee back on the bench even though she's not playing, i did hear her mom say she was having surgery on Monday and want to send my thoughts and PRAYERS to her for a speedy recovery. GO LADY PIONEERS!
