South 67, SH 59 After reading all these "posts" about how South could win the district if they had one and how Jasmine would be the reason SH would win, thought about telling my daughter to just stay home. Glad she didn't - 9 pts, 7 rebs, 5 fouls, &, even better, a WIN over everybody's favorite.

Didn't South make it regionals as #4 seed from 1-AAA last year? I distinctly remember losing to Greeneville in the first round. I think Samantha plays 1-4 at South depending on lineup. The way she rebounds it would be a shame to put her too far from the basket. Then again, posts will be MUCH bigger in college.

I agree 100% with harpua51 & bb317. The game needs all the fans it can get, especially high school students even if they are rowdy. As long as it is not personal, let them yell, jump, wave their arms, or whatever. Sure beats the empty gym you find at some schools.

A week or so ago TN High was above South in the standings, but this was mostly due to who they had played. If you check tricitiessports.com now you will find South has clinched 3rd with a 11-4 district record (one left vs Central) while TN High is 10-5 (one left vs DB). Even if TN High pulls the upset and South loses, South gets 3rd since they swept TN High. You are right though that what happens in the district tourney is all that really matters.

Correct about new rules not being in effect until July 30. However, the new calendar also includes the following: July 7, 2008 – July 26, 2008 15 days of practice permitted, 10 of which may involve competition with another school(s) I'm not an attorney or TSSAA rep, but my interpretation is that these summer camps that take place before the official start of practice will still happen under the above guidelines.
