They were reminded of that during post game speech. Just gotta keep working and believing. As I've said earlier this year, these kids aren't a real bad team, they keep making just enough mistakes to not be very good. I see light at the end of the tunnel though. They are progressing. It's been more of a mental battle with this group. As they are severely underdeveloped. 6 games into the season and they're just now figuring out how to play together for 4 qtrs.

It truly was a classic in this rivalry! HV better not read too much into the score though. We are improving every week. HV shut us out because we laid down in the first qtr. After digging our own grave with bad snaps, penalties and missed tackles. HV can beat Hampton. Of that I'm certain. But they better put in the work this week. If they compare scores and think it'll be easy, oh well... I've seen the better team lose several times at all different levels.

Classic game. Both teams had plenty of miscues, but it was still a battle. Just glad to see the Landers stand up and fight. They actually finished a game with effort. I, for one, am very proud of those kids. I think they grew up a lot tonight.

Those three quick scores came on misdirection with the landers getting out of position (mistakes)

Anyone who predicted this game to be close, doesn't follow HS football very closely. HV is as good as they've ever been and UC is not!

A lot of times we were in the right places, just gotta start hitting and driving through tackles. We had about 450 yds total offense but redzone turnovers killed huge drives that coulda put it out of reach. This team ain't real bad. They're making just enough mistakes to keep them from being very good. If they'll buy in and keep working they could get a lot better. It's the little things that are killing them. They really needed to win tonight, but there's still 7 more weeks to practice, prepare and play.

This senior class, my son included, is just too soft! They've come up through a program, who for the last four years, has never practiced, never hit and had no JV games. It's a shame, but it's the truth of the matter. Talent alone, and plenty of it, won a lot of games the last few years. This years group was never developed. Not making excuses, just telling it like it is. Mike is having a fit trying to get these kids whipped into shape and able to execute. You're right, should be back near the top in a couple years.

The touchdown pass came on a pick play by the receivers. Refs didn't call it. We should've jammed them at the line. Jmo
