OH OK...well maybe he might take you up on that offer after Johnson County gets put out of the playoffs early (hey im just being honest here...with the rest of the team thats healthy, we have no chance in the playoffs) but let me warn you...after he "worked" his way up to the "scout team" you will be reconsidering him as your starting QB when you face Maryville if you wanna compete...dont get me wrong South is a REAL strong "team" this year and should do well in the playoffs and ill be rooting for youa all, but in my opinion still Phipps is the best qb and i respect your opinion too...so good luck and kill the vikings this week :popcorn:

yeah this should be a great game to watch. both teams fighting for a playoff spot. after last nights win against sullivan east it should give our boys some confidence back in there offense that has been lacking since Pruddhome went down. but dont be too over-confident cause Sullivan North is gonna be tough. im gonna say... of course he will pass him in catches and yards because Prudhomme is out the rest of the season. a healthy Christian Prudhomme is a better reciever than Kitzmiller. Prudhomme is also about 5'9" (maybe thats stretching it a little too) and about 165 lbs. and is still the toughest reciever to cover and to tackle. also look at all the other weapons that South can go to. Prudhomme is the only wide reciever worth throwing to on our team and teams still cant cover him double teaming him. guess Kitzmiller will have to just settle for SECOND best...

yeah putting 8 or 9 in the box will help stop the run...but the coaches for tn high are a little smarter than the atwoods when it comes to changing game plans. if they see the run game is not working they will start throwing some play action in there and some misdirection plays...

i hate to see Pruddhome out for the rest of the season. by far the best kicker/wide reciever in the MLC. put 3-4 more inches of height on that kid and he's a D1 wide out and still right now is a D1 kicker. now as far as the game goes im gonna say TH 35 JC 21. our defense is just to week to stop the running game and thats what TH does best. Shephard is a beast rb and we couldnt stop him last year. he rushes for 150 yds against our d if everyone is healthy but now with the injuries he goes past that. hope im wrong but just dont see us pulling this one out. hope Pruddhome's injury is a quick recovery and can get a chance at a scholarship to kick somewhere. good luck to both teams and a safe game with no more injuries on both sides!

Sullivan South will win this one. i hope the Longhorns can give them a good game but if we cant beat a halfway decent Elizabethton team then Sullivan South should beat us. just depends on what JC team shows up in the first half... South - 42 JC - 21

great game from both teams! last quarter was like playoff atmosphere...as i said before the speed of elizabethton is the only thing i was concerned about and that is what hurt us. our defense needs major tuning up and some of the coach's decisions were horrible! i thought elizabethton came out of the gate in the first quarter and was gonna dominate though but our qb austin phipps carried us through the game. christian pruddhome is a great athlete as well. good luck to both teams the rest of the way!

as for this game THS 42 East 14. i say THS finishes 2nd behind South again. i think when they play Elizabethton it will be a good game but still think THS is the better team. i think JC will also give them a good game but the edge goes to the Vikings. good luck to all MLC teams.

im longhorn07 i dont know who longhorn51 is...and yes eliz might have us on speed and thats the only concern i have for friday's game. our defense has to contain the backs from getting into the open field. etown better bring their hitting hats on...gonna be a great game! good luck to both teams and lets all pray for an injury free game.

very true...u would wipe the field with the 1-A teams as u should. im not bragging about us beating hampton. its been a long time rivalry cause its the closest school to us thats why we continue to play them. THS has a winning tradition that i respect. they are a good team year in and year out. next year when u all step up conferences though it will be tough to get past DB and the rest of the 5A teams. hopefully since this is the last year that we will play THS we can pull one out. i dont see it happening but...i could be wrong /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

good post. im not sure how the dui thing got worked out to be honest with you. as far as coaching, atwood has made some decisions on the sideline that ive been questioning for years now. the team in '06 should have beat sullivan south, we lost 14-7 at south with a kickoff return for a td by jesse atwood that was called back for a very questionable holding call and at the end we had the ball very close to scoring to tie the game up. then we play tn high at home on a rainy night on a very sloppy field getting beat 13-6 in which jesse couldnt cut running the ball. (yes ill agree our field needs a LOT of work done to it). but back to this game, this friday will be a fun game to watch and im looking forward to it. lets all just set back and watch the game and let it fold out the way it folds out. Austin Phipps is the qb and is listed at 6'3" 220 lbs and is every bit of that. he was also the second best qb in the conference last year (behind curt phillips of course) and if you look at every teams roster the weight and height is a little off im sure...

you talk about the size. i would put my money hands down that our players are pound for pound just as strong or maybe even stronger in the weight room than the other teams in the MLC. you say prudhomme is the only player we got??? we'll see who has the better qb on the field friday and he's a beast on defense too when used on the opposite side of the ball. so keep talking elizabethton "prep boys", cause when your laying on the field after getting laid out a couple times that will slow them "fast" backs down...

i agree. johnson county and elizabethton have about the same amount of students and this game is starting to become a rivalry. at first elizabethton dominated but the past two years the longhorns have started to compete with them. johnson county has played hampton for years now and is always a close game. cloudland is a tough 1A team but thats it. cant wait til this friday though...
