In saying that South has a chance to play with Maryville and win it all,is no different than saying they have a chance to win this week.No one is mocking Maryville or DB{ a team that is going to get beat by South every year} or killing any chance South has in the future.As for the other remarks, {ill or not}I thank you for responding with intelligents

Go to a UT game, the band plays all game long.{Except,............] when the teams are at the line calling out the play.I will bet any amount of money,UT's band director is smart enough not to play when UT is at the north or south-end calling a play with the game on the line. I love our band and I'm proud of it, the kids are great. However, to make them play when [for sure] our team has the ball { and is at the line ],is like GC punting on every 1st down.

I was told by a parent that some of DB's players got a lot of home work and test for last friday.I know that school is first, so if the kids are put at a disatvantage in class, we shouldn't play on thursday . While I'm at it, I noticed that our band plays while the other team is running it's plays.That is not sportsmanship,but to keep it the same,they played while we were running our plays as well. Maybe some of our { football smart teachers }can talk to other teachers and the band director{ band teacher } .

How well we know that in Kingsport.We have 13 titles and are the winningest team in the state, but have counted a billion chickens since the playoff system started. This thread is all in fun,and as any old player knows.If you look past your next game,it may be your last.

Mercer must have a lot of kids to pick from.They could be as big a test as any team around east Tennessee.All of Tennessee will be pulling for you however.

No,but I thought it would be like lighting a match outside while standing on a brush pile.I know how hard teams will play when they are going against the topped ranked team around. Didn't Maryville come very close to getting beat in the early playoffs last year. I know we did,and got beat.

A lot of people think, this was Souths year to beat DB. DB was up for the task against Maryville in preseason play,nomatter what happens in 5A play for DB. When it's all on the line and Maryville is showing all their cards, can South be the big boysl this year. I've said before they could go deep into the playoffs,so I'll say yes

Don't wait until you have a powerhouse before you come to Kingsport ! I never lost against Greeneville ,but I sure have respect for you guys. Be careful on your way to Kentucky.

Good luck to the Devils in Kentucky.Will your team have to go up on game day? Do any of you guys in Greeneville know when you might play DB again ? It's a long history going back way before you went to the IMAC in I think '77 and all the big boys were inl 3A

I have not seen SC, but Halls looked good up here during preseason.

35-14 and don't ask me if we will be 2-0 after next week.Sevier Co. can't be that bad {27-0}. We will have to be able to pass and play much better defense than thursday night. High hopes will not win games, it comes down to can our small outside LB's and db's, stop the run and pass.We have a chance,but it may be in China. I will however turn my old cap around and toss some salt over my shoulder.

I guess these Devils that I said on page 2 would win 35-21, have not read about how great JC's history is. I know that back in the old days, those guys could have pretty much went 2A but allways played up with the big boys .The hardest hit I ever got was at Greeneville. By the way,one of the best players in the last 10 or 15 years from around here went to Greeneville and UT.He, like a few of todays great players, couldn't stay out of trouble.
