  1. I agree with number 4. I think thats the biggest key to either team winning. When we beat yall Nick Nicholas was huge off the bench. Its going to come down to roll players and which ones step up. ditto
  2. Doubt it strongly, Lebanon uses and uptempo style of play and I am willing to bet has better shooters then columbia does maybe not as many athletes though and we are coming off a 39 point win against them. Im not trying to get into it with you, Im just saying I hope Shelbyville wins so we can play columbia because we have a lot of success against teams that try to run with us. Oakland had success this season because they slowed the game down and took us out of our tempo. I think OakPat can attest to that.
  3. REALLY? I hope we play columbia knowing that because I feel our talent is better then theirs and teams that run with us do not usually succeed. We do run one of the best fast breaks I have seen.
  4. From what I have heard Columbia is overrated a little, im liking your scores alot rooktook, I think thats pretty similar to what mine would be. I think that Emmanual Andrews will power Shelbyville over Columbia, and as a Siegel fan we all know Oakland knows to key on Hammonds and Gooch so I am looking for a big game from Levon Tate tomorrow night for the Stars to get past the Pats. Cant wait to see who wins these 2 and what the region brackets look like. Good luck to both the teams not in our region.
  5. Lol really? I mean dont get me wrong, great story and all, but a heart transplant is a bit more serious then a broken neck. id say Neal's is 1 and Messicks is 2. Dont get me wrong it is a great story, but a heart transplant, not much is more serious then that.
  6. Siegel High School, were mostly juniors, Neal Carroll, Matt Smith, and Nick Nicholas are the only seniors and all see PT but not as much as the juniors do.
  7. Great article, very impressive. Neal is one of, if not, the best stories to ever happen in this district. He truly can do anything he wants if he has fought through all odds to live and go on to play basketball. He's been a great Star and a fan favorite that will be missed next season.
  8. I dont know if we saw the same game, because Lebanon definitely attempted to penetrate but when you have the length Siegel does its pretty hard to get good shots off inside. Siegel comes out and mops Lebanon a team that Oakland beat by 13 and 9 during the season after they played us tough at their house last time and you try to play devils advocate. Its not Warren Co we were playing. Lebanon isnt a push over and we destroyed them in every single aspect. Coaching, shooting, rebounding, defense, passing, everything yet you try to come up with excuses to why we killed them? You have to be kidding me, I dont know if its ignorance or if you missed some of the game or what but Lebanon played the style of ball they play every single game and got dominated. No excuses for a team to lose by 39 points. I think Siegel is now turning on the switch and playing on a different level then we were late in the season. Hope everyone that can makes it to the district championship, should be a great game, hate facing Oakland when there on a long win streak like they are.
  9. A. Hating on Blackman this season is about as bad as hating on Warren Co. Neither need to be told they are not top tier programs. B. Yeah the game at Lebanon was close through most of it and they ran and took jumpers. Dotson had them outcoached for anyone who saw both games though. It was one of the best coaching jobs on the season for Dotson. They had hands in their face on every jump shot. They dont have the height to go inside on Siegel really unless they beat us down there. We are long and bothersome to good shooting teams usually. We played flat in the first against Lebanon last game. I feel this was a statement from the Stars last night. They are in it to win it. Cant wait for tuesday night.
  10. Ill state some obvious, if the Stars play like they did yesterday they would be very tough for any team in the state to beat.
  11. Siegel did their part, good luck Pats. Hammonds was dominating tonight with 30 points including 6 three pointers. KEEP IT UP SIEGEL. Lets get that district tournament crown.
  12. Gotta always support an all boro final no matter what school you support.
  13. Talking about winning TJ as my post above reads.
  14. I personally do not care if Oakland wins as long as they dont when they play us. Their is only one team I worry about and that is Siegel. Oakland can do whatever they wanna do. I love how everyone on hear uses "Siegel fans" are obnoxious as the excuse to hate Siegel, like everyone doesnt hate the baby of the district anyways. Were like the little brother that stole attention from big brother thats why were hated. I could be the nicest most modest guy on earth and everyone on here would not like Siegel regardless. Btw mackie nice percentages, but I got one for you, first 5 years Siegel was in existence, 3 state tournament appearances for a total of 60% of them. Oakland just one in those 5 years for a total of 20%. Wins and losses during the regular season do not matter to a true high school basketball fan. All that matters is bringing it when its tournament time which we have done better then anyone. Tyler Cutter was on the bench for 3 state tournaments, what white county or Oakland players has done that? Im sure gribble or one of the white county players has Im just curious as to who.
  15. 25.1 is very very impressive. Hopefully Siegel can start a run here in the tournament. Be really nice to win a gold ball like White Co.
  16. Hey Warrior hows 1998 treating you? since your still living back then. that is OVER 10 YEARS AGO. I wont take anything away from there state titles, but come on man any argument and your comeback is always well we won BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS in 98 and 99. I wonder how many posts this year you have mentioned the back to back championsips 10 years ago, wish I had a tally. OakPat, I am NOT taking a thing away from Hughes, he definately deserves his own article. He is a great player. I am just saying that is some crap that they would have it in the paper the day after Hammonds gets a Mr.Basketball nominee. How happy would you be if Jamal was nominated and the main article was on Hammonds? The DNJ needs to learn to space out articles.
  17. Im not trying to be obnoxious at all, I think the DNJ is obnoxious for sharing the spotlight with Jamal, let them each have there day, dont write them on the same day, this is why the DNJ is a crap newspaper.
  18. A true Siegel fan would want there star player to have the spotlight for once without having to share it for his accolades on the court. I dont get why they couldnt write that story tomorrow, Jamal was not named a finalist or district mvp yesterday.
  19. Being a Siegel fan is very much like being a Notre dame fan or Yankee fan, you either love them or hate them, their is really no in between with the Stars fans.
  20. Another post season prediction is Siegel beats Oakland in the district tournament finals as well. It truly ticks me off that Kerry Hammonds wins district MVP, and nominated for MR. BASKETBALL, yet I go to dnj.com and an article on Jamal Hughes is on the cover of the sports page. Do not try to say there is no Oakland bias after that. Jamal had a great season, but in theory they should feature the player who is achieving the most accolades at the moment. Kerry didnt just make 1st team all district, and I could have told everyone on here 3 weeks ago King would get COY, the media likes him as much as everyone on here. Guess first place in the district with on less loss and a perfect record on the road doesnt win you coach of the year now a days. Seems Siegel gets the shaft every year in one way or another.
  21. Very impressive 2nd half I take it, Congrats Oakland way to make our district look even stronger.
  22. There is no cant to it, he wont make it all district this season, he hasnt played enough to be all district, what will be sad is if he does make it and takes away a spot from someone who earned it all season. He might can make 3rd team all district.
  23. No clue but if not then Smith would be off and Akers would be on in an instant I feel.
  24. Haha Rarity, knew I should have put Marc over Jamal to anger some Oakland fans.
  25. COY- Randy King or Dotson MVP- KERRY HAMMONDS. pg- Xavier Smith- Lebanon sg- Jamal Hughes- Oakland sf- KERRY HAMMONDS- SIEGEL pf- LEVON TATE-SIEGEL c- Tyler Edwards- Oakland Judak Akers might deserve it BUT I dont see how you can put him on over Hughes or Hammonds. Im sure WC fans want Puckett as center but he was too hurt to make it. Edwards and Tate both are undersized big men but I feel both deserve a spot.
