Even with their poor record they still put kids in school (3). Second, that rookie group took a world of beatings and gained a world of experience. I have the feeling that they will be a much better group and look more like the 06 and 07 teams. I think going to the state semi-finals 2 of the first three years under their new coach (Brunetti), Dominating the old region 4-3A, graduating players, and getting twenty plus players in school in three years must mean there is talent and that they are getting coached up. Show me who is producing the same in METRO.

How did I know that the Swami did NOT look into his crystal ball THIS TIME. Everyone knows that the "secret schoool board" runs MNPS and it is NOT the NAACP! I suggest you ask the "powers that be" why they are affraid of real change in MNPS? Second, there is plenty of talent in MNPS at every school, and there are MANY issuse that we are all aware of. However, even with the limitations from the school board on down, it is going to take serious and concerned parents, teachers, and coaches to help change the culture that is part of the problem that ALL OF OUR STUDENTS face in this day and age. Third, In regards to the question of the thread: There is plenty of true talent in MNPS and they reside where the catfish is good, "There's a fire on the field", the players only wear BLACK at home, and they "Don't Play Wit It!"! That same school has a high player graduation rate over 85%, and in the past three years thay have put TWENTY PLUS players in school on FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS from SEC and ACC DI programs all the way to DIII! Swami: What results does YOUR school get (or school you choose to follow) and COMPARE those to this school which has VERY limited resources, money, and MORE problems than your school does? Brentwood...My kid plays or your fired vs. my kids just got fired at and we have no place to stay and we only had one meal in the last two days...OK Brentwood has more issues! Pearl-Cohn IS a power! Where have you been the past couple of years! Dominated the old region 4-3A! Under Coach Brunetti the were State Semi-Finalist in 06 an 07, graduation finally caught up with them last year and they should be back on track for 09. PLUS they have 2 GOLD BALLS! Football Power...CHECK! Stratford is not a power but I will take their athelets and take my chances! Glencliff now has one of Beech's coaches as their HC and Curry as DC and they are now getting back to physical football. They will be well coached! I will always take odds with a hard nosed well coached team any day! Say hello...to the BADGUY!

Obviously you did not read the whole thread. A discussion board is exactly that...for discussions on the topic presented. I will say this, Metro has a number of excellent coaches and they are working hard to get it done! But any time your school wants to come on in why dont you get you a full slate of Pearl-Cohn, Maplewood, Hillsboro, and either Stratford or Glencliff as a non region games an see how you fair. Oldmetrodog: A couple of notes: 1. As you should know Blade is out at Hillsboro. The is going to have a major impact on the METRO landscape. This could either mean a current METRO HC or assistant gets a shot at this or an "outsider". Either way in general this alone could cause anothe HC job to open up! 2. Most METRO coaches have more than ttheir share of external issuse to deal with and if you have not really had to deal with an inter-city program and its issuse it is daunting (I am NOT taking away issues that others have in other places! I have been on both sides of the ball on this and if you are are going to go to a place like METRO I hope you have a very understanding wife! Or better yet put her to work on your staff and keep your marriage intact!) 3. You left out East-Literature: Here you have two old school METRO warriors running the program going into their first season of varsity play. Last year they graduated a number of players so we will see what will happen there. You have to also take into consideration that East-Lit. is pulling players away from Stratford which is lesst than 2 miles give or take away. The upcomming season will tell a lot! 4. The real question here is which teams in Metro are going to be contenders and which are going to be pretenders? With many of these schools bashing their heads against each in two seperate regions we will see how rough it is going to be! Say hello...to the BADGUY!
