I think it will get ugly.. just not THAT ugly. 24-7 Farragut in my opinion. I keep waiting on Reed to start improving in his second season but it really hasn't happened too much yet.

Most of the high school state records are 340-370 max so I don't know where you got this from.

Its still hard to believe.. I googled a bunch of stuff and didn't really see many people doing that much except straight Olympians or body builders on heavy roids.

I still like Jacquez as the MVP - Jackson has definitely had a great season - but I think Smith has helped em out there a ton.. as well as the other 2 linemen. Everyone knew about Jac. and to look out and prepare for him and gets double teamed.. no on really knew Jackson before the season so he had an advantage there.. either way both great players. I know Jacquez will play Div. I ball... but will Jackson? Is he too short? looks about 5'11 or so..

Doesn't look like offense improved much at all... just played a worse opponent with a bad defense... hope something happens between now and Farragut.. : Alteast we won though.

Wow - really funny - some guy threatening to beat up people behind a screen name for people also behind a screen name "bashing" players. First of all - you all have to realize no one was "bashing" the players. People were "bashing" Coach Monroe, yes (which I don't agree with), but I didn't see it towards the players. Saying someone isn't playing well or getting the job done at the QB, WR, punt return team etc. is far from bashing its just an observation and they have every right to make that statement. I commented and said Reed is a very good athlete and has most of the tools... tall/decent speed/good arm but either doesn't have the best throwing motion/accuracy (although his WR did drop 1 or 2catchable passes friday night) or hasn't caught on to reading defenses and its now bashing the player? And those calling other fair weather fans saying everything was A-okay when we were winning - go back to the previous game threads and you will see just about everyone that posted had major concerns for the offense by the time we reached real competition.. sure the Owls were winning (by large margins) but weren't playing well. With all that said - if you're to emotionally involved and connected to the program (no I'm not talking about a former player or graduate from Ooltewah like most of us are - but parents/family/even players too) I'd recommend staying away from these boards in the first place. It does no good to read them and they're all opinions of people that have nothing to do directly with the program. You'll end up getting your feelings hurt over a misunderstanding or something you disagree with. It's dumb and pointless - if you're offended by some of the stuff thats said - don't read it. And I don't mean that in a jerkish way.. it just doesn't make sense to me to be on here when involved like that. With all that said - Go Owls - I really hope we can get the offense in gear otherwise we're going to get whipped by Farragut... if that means run the ball 99% of the time and not pass I'm all for it.

Don't mind the people calling for Monroe's job. They just have sour grapes because Monroe doesn't play either a) him B ) his or her kid c) was on a previous team and didn't play. Or their son is playing poorly and of course its the coaches fault and not the players execution. I think the fact most aren't giving Maplewood enough props is because the way they won - they scored on a punt return and an INT and thats all for the game. I give the Maplewood's run defense tons of credit though - they played really well.. as did their gigantic O-line. They had a good game plan and shut down the run and made us zero dimensional and took advantage of mistakes and won the game.

Yes - because you can predict the future right? Good one. Jacquez is rated as a 4-star right now by some people.. he can easily move up to a 5-star by next year. A lot can happen.

HAHAHA - thanks for the early in the morning laugh. The only reason he took a visit to UTK during the Florida game is because he Jacquez was allowed to bring a friend - as for Auburn.. I'm sure it's for academics - seriously that statement cracks me up - Stump on Sports.. I mean really STUMP?! Don't give me crap like he gets as much recruiting mail as Jacquez - Jacquez has a shot to be the #1 prospect in Tennessee next year... if Jeremy Woods (5x the QB Reed is atm) can only get on at TTU then Reed isn't going anywhere to play the QB position atleast. Reed does he a lot of the tools - mobility/size/arm strength... but it doesn't make a difference if you can't either throw the ball well or read defenses (im not sure which is the case with him right now). Yep and that's because the QB is struggling and they have no passing game because of that so Benny is trying to dial up some new schemes. Goes hand in hand. As for the receiver that was "starting" last year thats funny because you weren't. But I agree Monroe is a good coach... but there are better options at QB surely - if not.. nothing you can do.. he's pulling out just about everything.

It's not like Reed is some all-american you make him out to be Owlpride... there's a reason he transferred out of Baylor.. he wasn't going to get any playing time.. and he knew it.

I don't think Monroe is the best coach out there but he's definitely a very good coach. But you're letting the QB situation off the hook. It's his second year and has a ton of athletes and hasn't really shown any improvement.. sure there are better coaches out there.. but you still need a QB.

C'mon man listen to yourself... wow. And I don't see a problem with asking for a QB change when he can't make all the throws... it's not like I'm saying Reed is a horrible person and he stinks at life or anything. It's a competitive sport and I just don't think he's the best option.

Guys - you realize you're talking about Benny Monroe right? He may be a little ditzy outside of football... but when it comes down to friday nights, he knows what he's doing. But I do agree he called a horrible game last night. But that doesn't make up for the fact he doesn't have a QB... let's just be honest with ourselves here... Ted has been out at head coach for awhile... he's not running the program into the ground - that's a ridiculous statement.. we went 13-1 two years ago.. the play calling was great then - but we also had a very, very good QB. Reed is not the answer at QB - and I don't care who is calling plays... he still wouldn't cut it.

You actually give Fatsak or the Maplewood homer credit? That's like giving credit to Lou Holtz the one time ND upsets someone since he picks then everytime to win.. or him picking South Carolina.. or picking against Tennessee. That takes no balls.

I agree - it's nothing personal and you hate to criticize high school kids - but I know there's someone better there. He has a lot of the tools you need to succeed - strong arm, tall, fairly well built, and good mobility... but he just doesn't throw the ball well.. under throws and over throws.. no consistency and can't read the defenses that well i guess.

Wow.. a quick throw to the WR in the flat that was so short he caught it on his knees and lost yards.. Maplewood's field position this half has been unreal. Game looks to be over.. stupid mistakes like INTs and punt returns + wretched offense just won't cut it against a half decent team.

Wow... really some of the worst execution and play calling I've ever seen by a Monroe coached team... I mean really - let Reed throw down field some atleast... otherwise they're going to lose. Haha VY and Lendale White are at the game.

Offense is horrible.. so are the penalties and play calling... Throw immediately to the WR in the flat over and over doesn't work. And Reed has really bad timing on the shuffle passes and screens... gets rid of it too early.

Mine just started working - have you tried again recently?? Reed is fine and playing.

That stinks - but we'll see here in a minute.
