  1. Last year we had a "so called scout" floating around and then thankfully he realized we were on to him and he disappeared. Are you that same guy under a new name? I'd be careful what I say, or I would not open my trap when you are as clueless as you are. I just want to apologize to all people I may have offended or bashed on this board. I am deeply sorry. HAHA God luck in your recruiting, I heard the hot dogs in the concession stand are really good. Oh, one last thing. The game is not tomorrow night like you said in your first line, it is tonight.
  2. Who are you? Brice Drew? I haven't bashed anybody on the board this year, except you for worrying about who would be in the starting line up. I haven't even been on this board much this year. Show me all thses programs I have bashed. If you know anything about basketball, you would know it isn't important who starts the game. I am going to tout these kids from Franklin, you are right, and their coach. You must be new around here, most people would love to have this coach coaching their program. 20+ wins every year he has been here. I know, I know, we haven't made out of regions yet. You come on here breaking down every game like you're Mike Wilbon. You have even quoted stats of some of FHS players, you don't even know the stats. And by the way Mr. Valpo, I hate North Carolina Tar Heels. Sorry to upset you, but learn how to spell Philly, and always use caps when you refer to that great city. Thank You and go cheer for somebody else if you don't like me loving these kids.
  3. Sorry Mr. Sensitve. You were awfully mean to me last year when you attacked where I was from, but I took it like a man and didn't whin about it. So I can't express my opinions. We are 2-0 this year versus Metro, without 2 of our better players. Oh, by the way, Siegel owns you. Nice effort at State last year.
  4. The game is definitely on. Hopefully I didn't hurt anybody's feelings with this post.
  5. I agree. It is going to be a blow out. I have seen Ravenwood play and they are not a good team at all. Very small and not athletic. They will play a zone all night and the Rebels will eat that up. It will get ugly quick. Welcome back Reed and Jamaul!!!
  6. Who care who starts, it is who finishes. Everybody gets hung up on who gets their name announced in the starting lineup. Good team players look past that stuff and focuses on what happens at the end, at crunch time. The rotation will probably be an 8 man rotation, and watch out for those 8. I believe 6 of the are potential starters. This is going to be a great season. Those of us close to the program has seen this forming for the past 3 years. It is going to be a fun ride boys and girls. Let's not dwell on who starts though.
  7. To go along with the thought of gyms being 50+ years old, let's give a shout out in this thread to Hillwood High School in Nashville. They are the only school that I know of that had to postpone their games last night because the roof in the gym was leaking so badly!
  8. I have made it clear, in a post last week. I said that I was not worried about things right now because of not having Jamaul and Reed. We will be fine. Jamaul did not play with the Rage because he was concentrating on football. He wanted to go through a rigorous conditioning program to better his chances to play football in college. He will report to the basketball Rebels on Wednesday. Can't wait to see him on the floor with James together. Haddix has worked awfully hard during the recent AAU season. Jamaul not playing with the Rage gave James a ton of minutes during AAU. We starting seeing this improvement in James at times during AAU.
  9. Thought we were talking about basketball here? Why are we talking about bread? Big Boy has come a long way and has worked awfully hard to get to this point. Both Coach Johnson and his AAU coaches have talked to James for several years about what would happen if ever put everything together and kept working. I am very happy for James, because he is a great kid who wanted to play well and play a lot.
  10. Hey Einstein. Look at the Big Boys numbers and tell me who has stopped him thus far in the season. Yes, he will be stopped I'm sure, but up to this point he has been an unstoppable force. When he gets the ball he usually scores or gets fouled. That would be an "unstoppable force". Thank you and have a good day. Game averages of the "Big Boy" James Haddix: 18 points, 11 boards. 3 blocks, and 67% FG Shooting
  11. Well, I have kept quiet so far this basketball season, but I have to come out and get back on this board after this ridiculus comment. It is just funny, we lose one game and this dude is writing us off and calling us a bust. Were you at the game? We did not play well on the road in that hostile gym in Columbia. We had 22 turnover, got out rebounded shot poorly from the line, and still about beat this very motivated team. It has been years since Columbia beat us and they were out for us. Those areas I just mentioned will all get better. This is a very special team that is still playing without an all region player in Starnes and a great role player in Glover. Both are due back soon. But to make this comment is beyond me. I will tell you 2 big differences in comparing us after 4 games the the Indy team. Our players have an incredible amount of heart and they will not let it happen and the other is the coach of the two teams. Jay Johnson will not let this team be a "bust", they are only going to get better. Jay is by FAR the best coach in this area and he proves it year in, year out. Haddix is becoming an unstoppable force. But, yeah, I guess after 4 games we are just a bust. Coach Johnson lets just mail it in that we are a bust and play our jv and feshman kids the rest of the way.
  12. Are YOU kidding? This is a rivalry between schools. It is nothing personal against the current players from Brentwood. When someone says something like that, it is almost ALWAYS speaking of the "revenge" against the institution / school / franchise / university / etc. (depending on what level of ball you are talking about). It's about a good rivalry between two schools. Don't take everything so personally! I doubt the players take every thing this personally.
  13. I was asked to post this by one of the basketball staff at Franklin High School: Due to a last second cancellation, Franklin High School is in need of one more scrimmage on October 31st (Friday) or November 1st (Saturday). Please call (615) 472-4451 (ext. 3516) or (615) 472-4450 if interested.
  14. That is the most idiotic comment I have heard in a long time. Number 1, There isn't even a coach in this district who has been around for 10 years. Number 2, no coach in his right mind would make that kind of comment to any fan or person. If he did, he is completely classless. Coaches should not be making those kind of comments. Nice story though.
  15. Are you ever going to respond to your prediction that D12 was going to dominate D11? You have never resppnded to questions on these message boards. You have said a lot about D11 vs. D12. FHS would lose first round of regions, it would be an all D12 final, it would be a great McGavock/Maplewood vs. Franklin semi, we could go on and on. Bottom line, D11 is a heck of a lot better than what you thought and said. I have said all year that D12 was a one-headed horse and there was NOTHING after Antioch.......just the facts.
  16. Yeah, but D11 is the much weaker district and will be "dominated" in regions. Didn't somebody keep saying that all season? Like I have been saying all season, D12 is a ONE team district with the rest of the teams not very good. Somebody needs to come on here and eat some crow. Antioch may still beat Franklin Tuesday night, but D12 did not dominate, 3 out of 4 ain't too shabby against the "so-called" powerhouses of metro.
  17. I'm with ya Coach. I love how posters have just dogged the Franklin boys all year, even a D11AAA coach now has come on here and is doing it. Everybody just go on and jump on the D12 bandwagon, but if an upset does occur, don't come on here and say positive things about the Rebels, we don't want you. Upsets do happen in high school basketball, But they have are already engraved the championship trophy to Antioch. On paper they are the champs, now lets wait to see what happens. I see the Rebels showing their class and determination and having a big bounce back game tonight.
  18. You are right. I was wrong for making that comment, I am justsick of Metro Ballin trying to stir things up on this 11AAA board. I am just falling into his little trap and coming down to his immature level. I will no longer be on Coach T. It is not worth getting upset over things said about a group of young men that we enjoy following. I am sure he is going to continue to make his little comments, but I will not be participating in his little game. Maybe Coach Harrick can step up and defend the Rebels for now on. Thanks for pointing out my shortcomings Big Poppa. although I have seen you in action...you are no saint.
  19. Yeah Coach, but so has everybody else in the district. Coach Johnson has owned the District in the last 5 years, especially since Troy has left, he is also a great coach.
  20. Yes, Miller had 31 against the Rebels when we played them at Hillsboro. The majority of his points came off of the offensive boards. If we do not box him, it could be a long night. If we control him and keep him away from the basket, we could win by 15.
  21. Metro Ballin, thank you for the kind words about the Rebels. I do appriciate it you say nice things about them As you can tell, I love those kids, and like I have said in the past, I have no kid on that team. My kids are either out of college or in college. It will be a lot of fun to see how they do in the region tournament, although, tomorrow night is going to be a tough game. Hillsboro is playing very good and Miller tore up the Cougars the other night. It should be a good one.
  22. On the night Drew Kelley recieved his District MVP award, was by far the worst I have seen him play. Miller dominated Drew in every aspect of the game. Centennial looked lifeless and acted like they didn't want to be there. Yeah, the paper had us with 18 points in the 3rd, instead we had 28 points in the 3rd.
  23. Well, Franklin graduated 69% of their scoring and 4 starters off last year's team and they have done just fine.
