There is obviously a line. And sports for children should always be fun and positive. But there is nothing wrong with challenging children and pushing them to do their best. The earlier kids can learn to compete, the better they are at life. Kids need to learn how to win, and how to lose. It bothers me sometimes when I see some rec leagues that don't keep score. We can't ignore that the real world is a very competitive place. Kids need to learn the right way to compete. Now there are some coaches who take it a step too far. And there are definitely some parents who take it way too far. But it is not just about having fun. Life is not about just having fun. Our country is about to get passed up by other countries (China for example) because of the lack of discipline instilled in our youth. We can push kids as long as we can keep everything in perspective.
