  1. She will be out two. Siegel just dealt with a red card, awful in my opinion, where our player sat out the regional semis and regional final. Kudos to the rest of the Siegel team for the way they all played in those two games, but a red card carries alot of impact at tournament time. The refs should keep the game under control, but pulling a quick red is not always the answer.
  2. How about this then-Keep it consistent! If YOU CAN'T USE FOUL LANGUAGE then YOU CAN'T USE FOUL LANGUAGE! In this instance a red card was thrown for the use of a single profane word the ref could hear. Later in the same game the opposing team's goalie yells out a single profane word that the sideline crowd can clearly hear-did it on two seperate occassions! Incidental? Twice? No red card? No yellow card? Let's help the young people out there learn what is right and what is unacceptable because in this case right and wrong seems pretty fuzzy. In my opinion, whatever a ref chooses to call needs to be called consistently throughout the game on both sides. The officiating in this case was poor, not only because he went straight to a red card but because he so blatently didn't pull a card any other time.
  3. Thanks for the actual rule quote. That is really the most helpful measure as opposed to someone's opinion. I don't think anyone can condone profanity, however, there seems to be a rule to address its use. Punishment for one offense of 2 and one half games seems not only excessive but almost targeted. However, a team at this level that has talent and class will be able to regroup, move on, and succeed. Other players will step up!
  4. I understand a red card needs to be used to keep players safe from dangerous play. How is a red card justified for the use of profanity (not directed to adults or as a threat) without warning? The profanity is not ok, but it is a yellow card infraction in my book. A red card seriously impacts not only the present game but subsequent action, especially important in post season play. Any thoughts on the issue?
  5. The Siegel-Riverdale rivalry is intense, the game was intense, the day was intense, the week was intense... get my drift. These are high school girls running on a lot of emotion. Take the emotion out and disect the game. I am sure Arman and Shelton are doing that right now in light of injuries and the rematch that's most likely coming. Keep your heads together, girls. Don't overlook anyone. There is so much more season out there!
  6. Should be a barn burner. Really depends on who shows up on Siegel's side. They can be on fire when properly motivated, but flat at times. Who's gonna shut down the big dog from Riverdale?
