Is that all you talk about quit blaming coaches and players. Just talk trash the truth but quit dogging these people. If ya don't like what they're doing go complain to them and some of the players. I bet a blue tick hound and all the money in my pocket that you'll get an answer, and ou know what it'll be SHUTUP cause that's what every player does for their coach. I know I did and still do For Coach Ward and I take up for Coach Mansfield never even played for him. You can't blame the coaches for every thing, these coaches are great at what they do, and know what they are doing. Anything you have to say go say it to Coach Mansfield and Co. Tell the players too while your at it.

NONE OF THEM HAVE SHOWN ME THAT THEY ARE TOUGH ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AS OF YET.

From what I have seen from some of these coaches I would probably be overqualified.

Huntingdon fans picking Camden to win...Camden fans defending Huntingdon to their own fans...Huntingdon fans bashing Huntingdon coaches, players and whoever else seems to jump in /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I've looked forward to this thread every season for the last 4 years...always fun defending your teams honor, predicting outlandish scores, saying who is going to have a "break-out" game etc.... Sorry to screw ya up there buddy, but the facts are that from what has been shown so far Camden is the better team and should win this one. See, all these years ya'll thought we were being cocky, but the fact is we can tell good football from bad football over here. Right now Camden is playing good football and we simply aint .

Okay "getacluecoach" which one of the players that "should be playing more" is your son, grandson or relative? Are you the same nut that I heard was putting flyers on cars in the parking lot at Huntington FB games calling for the firing of the O Coach? It's good that you love your family, but attacking people who are not blinded by the same love is not cool. Parents always think that their kid is the best players, just ask them. If you believe that the coaches want to win and obviously in H-town's they do then you got to believe that they are going to play the best players to give them that chance.

I am not kin to any member on the team right now, I'm just an old fart who has played in and watched enough Huntingdon games to know that what I'm seeing right now is not MUSTANG FOOTBALL. I'll say again also I respect Mike Mansfield and Peewee. But I'll also call a spade a spade. And no I am not that person that is putting flyers out but if I could find out who it is I would be glad to help them. And hopefully Wombles could take a couple of more with him.

Speaking of cute, remember the old OC in the title game against Alcoa? Up 15 points and on their 40 yard line with 4:00 left in the 3rd Qtr. Did I mention we had two Mr. Footballs in the backfield also. We threw the ball three straight times for 3 incompletions and everyone remembers the rest of the story (nightmare). Another Gold Ball disappeared right before our eyes.

Mansfield is doing the best he can with what he has! You take Weathers out of line up and there is no one on that offense that scares anybody. Hard to win big games with only one offensive threat. Im surprised Mansfield stayed around because he had to know these days were coming.

Sir obviously you havent been watching the results since that fateful night.

And no I'm not talking about Weathers you are correct he is a warrior he should be getting more touches running the ball, and passed to out of the backfield, and playing defense. I'm talking about a former Ripley head coach who is the "spotter" for the offense deciding that after pounding the ball to get to the 20-30 yd line he feels the need to get in the shotgun and start throwing all over the field, its happened all year!

Whats going on with these people that have never posted before deciding to get on here now and bash huntingdon. The players read these post and hear all this bull. Instead of putting it on here where no one knows you, you should show up at the field house like a man and let your concerns be known. Maybe you have some good game plans they could use. But they are probably the ones that stand up in the stands and scream at the kids and the coaches and embarrass the town.

Yeah and maybe instead of being on coacht reading they should be more concerned with learning proper blocking technique.

I just want to respond the the remark about the o line. Three of the o lineman on this years team started as sophmores and helped the team to the semi finals the same year. if everyone on this line was healthy this year i would put them up against any o line in the area. losing a three year stater who was a strong d1 prospect at right tackle hurts. makes it very hard to mix up the running game. remember when you blame the coaches that they have to make do with what they have, and our coachts have done very well with that. you seem to have forgot all the injuries and circumstances that surrounded last year. everone needs to get off the o line. maybe if you want to complain you need to get on the fumbles, dropped kickoff and punt returns, which by the way turned into a td for mckenzie last week,missed tackles ect., this line has took their knocks for the last 3 years and have turned into a pretty good line. check the rushing stats. contrary to what people seem to think, the running backs dont do it by themselves. take heart line, some of us out here realize what you contribute. keep up the good work.

I have no complaint with the kids on the line and you are right losing Ethan has hurt the last two years. However the blocking schemes, playcalling, and whole offensive philosophy stink. You are right about the punt and kickoff returns......but who keeps putting him back there? I would hope any player or coach would take my words as a challenge.....maybe even get a little p!ssed off about it.

Are you not giving Camden Respect cause if you aren't I can guarantee your the only one. THough Camden isn't as profound as Huntington they are a Respectful and deserving team. If you don't beleive me just ask Milan or Westveiw or any other team they've played this season. Disrespect your opponent and you usually lose in what is called an Upset, but Camden is predicted to win so it would just be truth. But I promise Camden gives Huntington the utmost respect to the players and Coaches, because they are good team who can hurt you with any person on their team. As for having a decline I believe last year was the worst season yall have had in a long while. Coach Mansfield is a great coach and last time I checked he's won a state Championship in the last five years and came up short the following year, so I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doin.

You have to earn your respect over here, and Mansfield has got mine, he just needs to step back and look at the decline of our Oline over the last three years....the decline of our offense as a whole over the last three years to see that somebody, or bodies isnt getting the job done. The fact that nobody from Huntingdon has called me on my comments pretty much should rest the case. I speak the truth. With the right changes Huntingdon could still be a decent team. Trust me the kids will keep fighting til the coaches throw in the towel...like they did when they tried that stupid fake field goal against McKenzie. Nobody over here is exempt to criticism. Thats what tradition should be about, expecting the best out of the players and the coaches putting the best players in the lineup and coaching them up instead of coaching them down.

Amen to that. It's real easy to get on here and bash a coach when your team isn't doing well. Even with as great as Mansfield and Co. have been over the years, but there had to be a talent cycle at some point. But, it's a cycle so don't be suprised if you start seeing the dominant team you had just a few short years ago. And by the way, Huntingdon's not exaclty sitting in the cellar this year. They're going to be a playoff team.

 

What I find funny is that the person bashing the coach joined two days ago and has only one post.

In the past we have done more with less. Camden is on the upswing but I hope you dont actually think you beat a good team last year.....and trust me we aint good this year either. Its a sad day when McKenzie players and fans are saying they cant understand why we dont use our talent better. I guess us old diehards just expect a little more than we been seeing.

Are you BLIND. Huntingdon is down in talent compared to the last 10 or so years. They will be down for 3-4 more years. I personally commend Coach Mansfield and Pritchard for staying. They are quality coaches and I am sure they knew this was coming. They did not bail out and leave it to the next guy to take all the heat and fill some BIG shoes. You guys are going to go at least 7-3 and make the playoffs. You have a even chance of winning this week and going 8-2. I would support more and complain less or you may get what you wish for. Leave the coaching to the coaches.

I might suggest that you scurry on back and support whatever school you normally root for rat. Lexington has their own problems. I havent missed a Huntingdon game since 1972 so I think that qualifies me to make a comment if i want. I got no beef with Mansfield other than the fact that he has turned the offense over to someone who is more interested in trying to be cute than fundamentally sound. Why do we consistently run the ball down to the opponents 30 with Weathers and then feel the need to get in the shotgun and go to passing? Maybe because our "spotter" wants a little glory for his boy? Jimmy has always had "senioritis" but Mike has usually ended up putting his foot down and stopping the nonsense. I will support Mike Mansfield until he decides to retire but he needs to grab control of his program. The players that are out their getting their jobs done dont deserve for the same 2-3 players making the same stupid mistakes costing them a chance at games.

If Huntingdon coaches would get their heads out of their tails and get the best players on the field ireguardless of their seniority we might stand a chance. Theres some kids playing now that dont belong. Spit on depth at this point it should be about survival. Chad Jordan at Bruceton runs the ball 40+ times a game and plays every down of defense but our best weapon gets the ball about 15-20 times a game (and we throw it 40 yards downfield into triple coverage the rest of the time) and doesnt play a lick on D. Hmm does anybody remember Weathers WAS a starter on Defense? I have never seen a more disorganized mess from a group of Huntingdon coaches since Sturdivant was here. DISGRACEFUL.
