  1. It might be something he would do in the right situation.
  2. It wasn't conventional but it wasn't a bad move. They had to get about 6 inches and they were getting it all night. I don't think it's a move you would do very often but I do think it was the right call.
  3. No doubt about that. Coulda, woulda, shoulda been worse.
  4. Going for it on 4th down is undisciplined? Everytime time they went for it it was short distances and they were getting a good push pretty much every play. I don't think they ever got stopped on any of there 4th down tries and actually scored a long touchdown on one of them. It just looked like a coach and team playing to win the game.
  5. As an outsiders observation who has been to a few play off games at ''THE HOLE'' something just seemed off with Smith County tonight, fans and team. I showed up expecting a play off atmosphere like I've seen before but it seemed to be the atmosphere you would get about week 4 of the regular season. I don't know if Smith County was afraid of what might happen or what but it was different. Fairview was a heck of a team and had plenty of good players, pretty much controlled the game from the beginning.
  6. It was disappointing all the way around from Macon's perspective. I knew it could get lopsided so that wasn't really surprising but the way it happened was. It wasn't just that Smith was scoring on us but how easy it was for them was really disappointing. We had maybe a couple of players going all out and fighting but as a team they just laid down and took it. I don't know what else to say. Good game Smith. Good luck the rest of the way.
  7. "Who's on first"??? It will be an uphill battle for Macon but hopefully some good things will happen tonight and we can find a way to pull it out. Good luck.
  8. You're responding alot not to care. Nice deflection either way.
  9. This doesn't make any sense in the context of what we were talking about, but ok? I guess?
  10. I try to give Smith one compliment a year, enjoy it. Let me add, I've said through out this board that Smith has a good program and team but you're to worried about giving deflective responses to actually see the good things I have said about Smith's program.
  11. I also don't know many 3A teams that go undefeated in the regular season and ranked number 1 in the state and get bounced first round of the play-offs either.
  12. A little defensive aren't we? Thinking that your program should of called Gallatin ahead of Warren is actually a compliment to the Smith County program. I still think a competive loss to a Gallatin type team would benefit your team more than a blow-out win versus Warren. And as far as Macon scheduling Gallatin, we are nowhere near the point of being able to schedule a team like Gallatin and being close to competitive. And yes at this time with Macon being down this year we do make your schedule weaker.
  13. We do and they have a good team this year, that was one of the teams I was referring to when I said a couple of others.
  14. If this is true then my only question is why not call Gallatin first? As a program and team a competitive loss to Gallatin would do more for you than a blow-out win versus Warren.
  15. Of course there is some satisfaction there as it would be a good win over a good quality program. Same could be said with wins over TC, White House, Goodpasture, Livingston and maybe a couple of other teams we have on the schedule.
  16. Warren County and beefed up schedule should not go together. You could schedule a few 1 or 2a team and they would be a tougher game than Warren. And you seem to like the measuring stick comment, once again over stating the importance of Smith County. Who would be Smith's measuring stick?
  17. Where did Trapp come from and what's his background? He seems to be doing a good job with DeKalb, just wondering what his story is.
  18. What does the Dekalb game have to do with this? And the Livingston game was a few weeks after Dekalb. And once again I think you're overstating the importance of Smith County. Was it a good win, sure it was but not what you would call a signature win. And since you brought up Trousdale it would of been a better win if we beat them as they were coming off a state championship and have more relevance state wide than Smith does.
  19. This is a question that's brought up often and I have a couple of theories on why it is but I'm not certain. It makes for a good discussion though. Also, Vince Lombardi has a quote, it went,"Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing". Unfortunately for Macon I think the quote has a lot of truth to it and once you get in the losing ways it can be a vicious cycle to get out of them.
