Well, it was obvious that the coaches blackballed Coach McCord from winning a much deserved Coach of the Year award. If Coach Haskins had any guts he should have walked over and given the Coach of the year award to Coach McCord. That's what really should have happened. I don't see how he can except an award after being beat 4 times by the same team. Coach McCord had to overcome much more than Coach Haskins in my opinion. How many coaches have lost 4 starters and come back the next year and win District Championship. This is really a joke. It's pretty obvious who the Coach of the Year is and that is Coach McCord. No one will make me believe otherwise.

I believe Covington should win this one, but it will be close. If the breaks toward the end of the game go to Northside, then they could win. It's that close of a matchup.

I'm not a predictor, but I'm for the Choctaws. Hopefully for the third time in as many years. If they win Coach McCord should get Coach of the Year, hands down. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I think he should get it even if they lose, just my opinion.

I'm gonna have to argue with that statement. Go back and look at the teams we played last year and compare to this year. Pretty much the same schedule except for a few teams. But, the same results. We are 60-3 the last two years, pretty awesome, no matter how you slice it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> We can only play the schedule we are dealt. Look at Booker T and the schedule they play. It hasn't helped them to play the tuff schedule. We knocked them out two years in a roll. I promise you they don't want us again. Especially in our home court. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm getting alittle ahead of myself, but I'm just saying it doesn't always pan out to play a tuffer schedule. There is too many verables involved to blame a lose on a weak schedule. Because on any given night you can get beat, thats why you play the game. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm not saying you should schedule weak teams, you should play a hard schedule. Just don't believe that you can win a game over some team just because you played a tuffer schedule. That can get you in trouble. You need to play every game like it's your last. Which is very hard to get across to your players. Now, I believe in telling it like it is and the weakness on this team is FREE THROWS, and the youth on the team. We have got to get better at the charity line, and these freshmen are going to have to grow up fast, if we are going to make to the Boro. We are going to have to play smarter basketball.

That is not the case unknown. The kids parents have to live where he is playing. Unless he transfered like Hudson while he is a freshmen. Then they can live out of the school district he is attending.

Does anyone know if there is something physically wrong with Big Ced? I heard he passed out after the Obion Central game and was sent to the hospital over night. Hospital kept him over night for observation, said his heart was racing too fast. I know he started tonight , but came out early, and sat out most of the game, until the end of the forth quarter. Is it me or does it seem to be something wrong with him. I have noticed in a few games he points to himself wanting to come out of the game, because he's tired or is their something wrong with him physically? Hope someone can help me with this question, I'm really worried there could be something seriously wrong with him.

Big Ced had 15 also. He was a domanant player in the paint tonight. We hit a record 11 threes tonight. We scored 40 pts. in the third quarter to put it out of reach. The mercy rule was in effect about the middle of the third quarter. We looked like a No.1 team tonight. We were firing on all cylinders. It was a team effort tonight, on defence and offence. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Dyer Co. looked like a well greased machine . Let me save you a trip to Memphis. Melrose will win by 20 or more. They beat them by 19 last game at Hamilton. Melrose will not lose in their gym. Wasn't that a great game, atmosphere wize? A very good warmup for what is to come in a few weeks. That gym was electrifying. I thought both student sections behaved themselves pretty well. They were fun to watch.

Cudos to Coach Decker and her Trojan squad. They have come a long way in a short period of time. I thought the Trojans would tire out in the third or fourth quarter, but they did not. They were clawing and scratchin the whole game. They ought to be proud of themselves. they had their A game faces on. The Choctaws on the other hand missed a slew of layups and free throws. This game should not have been that close, if the Choctaws had hit the easy layups and free throws. It's good to get the steals , but you have to finish by scoring the easy layups. We have done it in past games,we just didn't do it tonight. It was a win, but it was ugly. I'm sorry Choctaw faithful, but I call it like I see it. If we play this way against a formidable opponent we are in for a spankin in the near future. The Choctaws have got to get to workin on their mistakes and get better, if they are going to get to the Boro. I know we are young in some areas, but we have got to grow up quick, if we are going to make a run at the gold ball. It's getting close to Tournament time, so we need to be gearing up for some big battles. I want to see that well greased running machine, that i know you can be. Congrats to Dyer Co. on a great tournament . These guys are still young and improving every game. Henry Co. put some big time pressure on Dyer Co. and they handled it very well. I was wondering how Dyer Co. would do, if they had to come from behind to win, and they impressed me big time. It's still a long season and they could lose a few games along the way, but it want be because they didn't hussle. They are really a fun team to watch. Sometimes it feels like there are 8 to 10 players on the floor playing for DC. Dyer Co. has won two Holiday Tournaments , lets hope they can carry it over to the tournaments that really count.
