  1. Has your coach told you he was comming back to huntingdon next year yet ? coach mansfield is retireing & he got the job he'll be back with the mustangs next year . he already knows H.C. has gone as far as they can & besides this is the job he wanted anyway. What does this have to do with Friday night? H.C.'s outlook for next season is right on par with this season's team. Eric left Huntingdon with some bitterness. Why do you think the entire state championship staff left?
  2. Our starting QB did not play against Waverly due to a broken wrist. That changed our game plan because our starter is a more accurate passer while the backup is a great runner. BTW, the two TD passes last week were tight spirals. He throws a real nice ball.
  3. Richland's line cannot handle LC's line - either side of the ball. This will be a blowout. #22 has some speed but he can be contained. They will attempt a halfback pass. We sacked the passer when they tried it last week. Good luck to both teams but this one is just a formality.
  4. We threw for two touchdown passes this past Friday night. We have a passing game, we just don't utilize it much.
  5. Have you seen Hickman County play? Lewis County has more speed than Hickman County? That is just an ignorant statement!
  6. Glad we don't have anyone's respect. That is when we win. But we will have your respect along with everyone else's soon enough! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. Did you even read my subsequent post? Or did you just rush to respond? Look, LC has a very nice team. And again, I am not making excuses for our loss. The field condition has just been something on mind since the game so I posted on it. Honestly, I really don't have a problem if you want to soak the field before the game. I would think you would want to play the opponent straight up. Maybe LC did or maybe they didn't soak the field. It doesn't matter now. I am just looking forward to some great high school playoff football. Good luck to all teams! BTW, I am concentrating on Stewart Co. After all, I am the one that started a thread on our game with SC.
  8. Do you think this is a big enough HC deficiency and/or SC attribute to affect the outcome of the game? We average about 1 INT per game. Not a great stat but we tend to cover the deep ball better than short/intermediate routes. We did have a breakdown in coverage on a deep ball last night that resulted in a TD. I know Coach Swenson will have them prepared in all facets of the game.
  9. Don't insult my intelligence. The game would explain the "condition" of the field but would have nothing to do with the amount of water it would hold. By simple logic you would think the field itself would drain better than the area behind the goalpost. For now, just worry about your matchup with the might Raiders of Richland and I will see you week after next in Hole-In-The-Wall!!!
  10. Not making excuses for our loss to LC. I honestly don't know if that would have made a difference to the outcome. If you will read my posts after the game, I gave LC all the credit in the world and did not mention the field condition at all. The thing that is curious to me and everyone else from Hickman Co. that stepped on the field after the game is why was the area behind the goalpost completely dry while when walking on the field your feet sunk at least an inch deep in soaked grass? No matter, that day is long gone. I just hope we get the chance to play LC again. If we bring our 'A' game, which we did not in the 1st meeting, I am hoping for a different result. Sorry to highjack the thread with my comments. Now back to the Richland v. LC matchup...
  11. Thought I would give the common opponent rundown. SC beat Waverly 36-0; HC beat Waverly 40-8 SC beat East Hickman 24-14; HC beat East Hickman 41-13 SC beat Richland 14-10; HC beat Richland 48-14
  12. Considering we crushed you all by almost 30 points, I think we can say your game with LC was more of an aberration.
  13. All indications point to a Hickman Co. victory. But can Stewart Co. bring it?
  14. I take offense to that statement. Hickman County gave Lewis County it's best game of the season. We spotted them 14 points in the 1st quarter and still only lost 21-6. If they don't soak the field down this time around, things may be different.Having just played Richland last night, I say the mercy rule will be in effect late in the first half.
  15. Turnovers will be the key. If LC can keep those in check, they will go far- IMO.
  16. I feel sorry for those CoachT members who click on this thread hoping to read some information/opinions on the actual game. This has gotten really comical for those people who live outside of Hickman Co. and sad for those of us that live in the county. To the Coach Jones apologist and others who have no dog in this hunt and have not added any football knowledge to this thread - GO FIND YOUR TEAM'S THREAD AND DEVOTE YOUR TIME TO YOUR TEAM!!! To the East fans that are foolish enough to think your team has any chance of winning this game - GET REAL!!! If 'ifs' and 'buts' were candy and nuts it would be Christmas everyday! BIGDAWG OUT ~
  17. I agree. Thanks for the compliments Don. Good luck to your fine football team!
  18. 2A Back - Scott Sowell - Hickman Co. 136 carries; 1048 yards; 7.7 yd./carry; 20 rushing TDs He did not play at all one game and has been pulled from several games in the second half.
  19. Bulldogs by 40+. How is Sowell looking this week?
  20. Here I am. Back to eat some crow. I really enjoyed this week leading up to the game and it almost lived up to the hype. I also enjoyed the smack talk on these very pages. What good is sports without a little talk and confidence in your team? I have to say, I was very impressed with the facilities at L.C. My 10 year-old son was impressed with all the trophies as we walked into the stadium. I was equally impressed with your team. The defense was suffocating and I was particularly impressed with your QB. He really hurt us. I just wish we would have had our 'A' game tonight. Some of that needs to be credited to L.C. but Sowell did not appear to me to be 100%. I was again impressed with L.C.'s defensive gameplan and their ability to neutralize our speed. I would have loved to see how the game would have changed had our opening kickoff return stood. And that leads me to tonight's officiating. UGH! Awful seems too nice of a word to describe it! They could not even walk off penalty yardage without a 10 minute conference. How could one of the biggest games in the state this week not merit a better officiating crew than the one we had?!? Regardless, I am not using that as an excuse for our loss. Kudos to #85 from H.C. That kid played his heart out and was one of the few bright spots on our side of the ball. I feel bad for the H.C. seniors, of which #85 is, but they will live to fight another day. Here is hoping we get another shot at you guys! Congratulations on a huge victory and the District 6 2A crown!
  21. Really looking forward to this game tomorrow night! I am anxious to see Lewis Co.'s reaction to both our team and our fans. This is not your big brother's Bulldogs! I think there are going to be a lot of folks who are surprised by our performance tomorrow night. Good luck to both teams. GO DAWGS!!!
  22. Headed out of town for the rest of the week. I will be driving 600 miles on Friday just to get back for this game. I may have limited internet access so this may be the last post from me until after the game. GO DAWGS!!!
