  1. Isn't when it counts all that matters? Everything up to this points means nothings, lets play the games, should be a good tournament.
  2. Now that the regular season is over I figured it was time to look back on the season and look at district play. Pickett Co. finished the regular season at 19-7, on an 8 games winning streak. They beat such teams as Jackson Co, Clay Co, Temple, Clinton Co KY, and Van Buren on said streak. They go into district play with the best record and will be the number 1 seed in the tournament. They play on thursday, not sure what time, I'm sure someone can help me out with that, against either Clarkrange or RBS. Some highlights from the season: Jacob Wright scored his 2,000 point against Clay Co., T.C. Capps scored his 1,000 point somewhere around christmas time. Brent Logan is 14 points away from 1,000 points, making this the most dynamic scoring group since Aaron, Crouch, and Adam Asberry in 2000-01. Good luck to the Bobcats and all the other teams.
  3. are you serious? I mean I am maybe the biggest Pickett co fan around and I even acknowledge that they get the benefit of the calls most every night. I don't think that wins games for them but it doesn't hurt them. This was a stand up crew tonight, I actually think this was the 2nd time we have had this same crew. One of the refs is from sparta, really good ref. Jacob got the cats going but he cooled off quick after the first quarter. His teammates did a nice job picking up the slack. James, Jacob brown, and tc all had to have over ten points a piece. Just a good ball game over all. The better team won this game, the refs didn't change that. District play opens up for us Thursday. Also, while grace has been ranked this season, vb hasn't been above 11 I don't think and temple hasn't been ranked all year.
  4. Should be a good game at the Wheelhouse in a couple of hours.
  5. James had two fouls in the first quarter. I don't care who the player is, if your in foul trouble, and your name isn't Jacob Wright, then you aren't going to be the same player that they would be if they weren't in foul trouble. Logan had 2 3's so he atleast had 6 of his 19 from the floor, and I know he had more than 6 points from the floor, i remember him making atleast 2 lay ups, so their is 10 points, making your statement false, Logan has started scoring a lot more consitantly since the Temple game, so whatever he has changed, keep doing it big fella. Don't try to deminish what Logan has been doing lately by saying he can only make free throws. Here are his last 5 games, Temple 20 something, Clay Co. 14, two games where he didn't play many mins, against RBS and Monterey were he only scored 4 points, Clinton co. 19. The kid has been scoring well in big games and thats what matters. Now Jacob's scoring was probably 60/40, he made a lot of free throws. Lets just be honest, Logan and Wright were the only two regular players that weren't in foul trouble, so they had more points than others.
  6. No idea who the refs were but they weren't very good to put it nice. I think the TSSAA forgot that this was a very big game and sent a sub par officiating crew. Their were probably 40 to 45 actual fouls in the game. Too many touch fouls early and Clinton co likes to play very physical basketball and that didn't help them. Any crew would be better than this one.
  7. Jacob had 29 points according to the tennessean this morning. Now I'll admit tc didn't have a good game but got 3 fouls in the first quarter. I think he played like a min 30 or something in the third. Brent Logan had 19 points, does that not count as a stand out to you? I believe that's right were he needs to be. I think jacobhad two fouls last, if thats all the fouls he got in that game then I doubt he fouls out in other games.
  8. No your right, PC made a living on the free throw line, because PC and Clinton Co. were both in the double bonus for the entire fourth quarter it seemed like. I'm not sure who the refs where, but they were awful, on both sides. TSSAA refs only. The LONGEST two games of my life.
  9. Also, Clinton Co's coach is just a stand up guy, on the post game interview he was talking about how he didn't see any reason why he or coach Bibb got technicals, because nothing was really said. I think maybe our officials should take some courses on officiating from Kentucky refs, and maybe we should adapt our rules more to their and Indiana's rules, where basketball is second nature.
  10. Anyone watching the game will admit that it was bad on both sides of the ball. Both teams were in the double bonus with 4 mins left in the first quarter, that tell you anything? PC had two players with 3 fouls by then. I know Clinton had a few as well but not exactly sure. Just a poorly reffed basketball game.
  11. Funny I heard it on the radio as well, and maybe it was 48-27 because one of those T's was on the players that fouled out so that is figured in. I heard it on WANY, not WLIV so the numbers might be slightly different, but none the less thats closer than you were saying, Clinton was fouling a lot a the end trying to get the ball back to get back in the game. I might have been off by 5 but thats it.
  12. PC beat clinton co 66-51 in one of the worst reffered games ever, and my team won.
  13. Well you lost that bet then, PC 32 CC 42, pretty even called game. Sells, Capps and Brown all fouled out.
  14. Only 10 fouled out, (7 for Albany including 5 starters, 3 for Pickett Co.) and only 75 fouls according to WANY radio. Albany shot something like 24% according to their coach on WANY, they out rebounded PC 60-30, 38 of them coming on the offensive end. I bet Bibb isn't happy about that stat. I'm glad there is a tape going out, their were a lot of actual fouls in this game, but a lot more little touch fouls. I saw devilfanatic their, wonder what he thought? It was bad for both teams fouls: CC 43 PC 32, so it was about equally bad, but apparently TSSAA thought this game wasn't worthy of a good officiating crew. Has to be a record for fouls. I know Albany radio was ticked off.
  15. Hum......when have I heard that before? Oh yeah 05-06, JC was gonna crush PC everytime they played them, and they wouldn't be anywhere close to CC. Now to give Clay credit, they beat us everytime they played us, but JC only beat us once that year. PC has been in district finals ever since '91, next year's team and coach Bibb neither want to be the first team to break that stretch. Now I'm not saying they will be state favorite to win it all, but I think they will still compete in district play, Clay will be the team though. I don't know about JC, but they lose alot and will be young as well.
  16. Ok well your right, but usually their is a week break between regular and post season. This schedule is so gay, stretching the district tournament that could be played in a 3 or 4 day stretch into a 7 day stretch. Gosh I miss the old days of basketball, greedy TSSAA. Yeah if Wright goes out, PC is average, only thing is he doesn't foul out that often. If you were talking about TC, then yeah he does, but Jacob doesn't get into foul trouble, so I don't see the point of your arguement. Even with Jacob hypothetically "out" PC being average puts them even with JC and CC because they are Very average as well.
  17. What is everyone's prediction for tonight's game against Clinton Co.? Should be a good one, tip-off at 6:30 for the girls game, should be a good boys game, I'd say their won't be many games in the area tonight, come out and watch some good basketball at the wheelhouse.
  18. You know I tried to give Jackson Co fan's team propts last year, but they also rubbed it in my face, so I quit taking compliments from anyone from JC or CC. It's JC and CC's season when they beat PC, whether it be regular season or tournament time, funny thing is that PC always shruggs those losses off and most years goes to substate and state. PC is definately the team to beat, I was simply agreeing with you. I wasn't bashing JC or Clay, I just don't think either one will beat PC. JC doesn't match up well, and I don't know if Clay can even get past JC in the semi's because they have yet to show they can. If they can, then yeah, they have a chance, they already proved that, but make it past JC first.
  19. I have no where in any of my posts said that PC is unbeatable, they are very beatable some nights, never said they were without flaws, but they are rolling right now, I just don't think JC matches up very well with them, PC proved they could beat them both times. You also remember that the game at JC was TC's first game back from injury, so he wasn't very effective in that game, but the game in PC he was healthy and beat JC by 20 something. I'm saying Clay Co has the best shot at beating PC, they are very athletic and play physical defense, but they are gonna have to beat JC before I can say they have a chance to win district, because if they don't beat them, well then they don't get a shot a PC in district, ya know? Celina did have us on the ropes at PC you are correct, both of you, but teams that win in tourny time are not just able to have PC on the ropes, but finish them off. Tournament time is all about guard play.....and in my opinion noone handles the pressure like Jacob Wright and Brent Logan, for my money, the best two ball handlers in the district. Good luck to every one, I hope everyone has an injury free tournament season. Also District starts the week after next guys.
  20. The name of the gym is Wheeler Hassler Memorial Gymanism, it was dedicated to Wheeler back in 04-05 because of his love for the game and all he did for the students he coached. and well, Wheeler Hassler Memorial Gymanism is a little too much to type, so I just started calling it the "Wheelhouse", I guess cause it kinda sounds like a field house (don't actually remember how I got that) and its stuck ever since. Actually the amount of fans we brought to Van Buren was pretty good for us. PC travels better to LA, Clinton Co, York, and Clay Co. just bigger rivalry games for our fans. Plus that game was right around christmas and most of the students had finals, but that crowd wasn't too bad for a non-district game and a not so big rivalry yet.
  21. I can't give that out, then everyone would know me. Oh there is always bad blood between the two school. PC students hate Clinton Co. and vise versa. I have no idea about 70's ball. But in the past 15 years, Jason Gibson went over there to play ball, he might have been the the missing key to Aaron and John winning a couple of state championships, even though he was a year behind them. He was so athletic, he was really what that team coulda used in Aaron and John's senior year. Also we got one of theirs, Nathan Groce, transferred over to PC in 5th grade, he helped PC jr high beat Clinton Co. middle school every time we played them from 6th grade to 8th grade. He also helped PC to state in 05. So their is some bad blood. Also the othe Gibson going over their and coming back. And the Garner girls going over and coming back. Their is definately bad blood. Always talk of a fight after the games between the students. It's crazy.
  22. Clay couldn't finish PC the other night, nothing tells me that they will be able to do that in the post season, heck they can't even beat JC, and JC wasn't within 12 points of PC in either game this season. I'l tell you why, PC has TC and he gives Clarkrange and JC problems, maybe not offensively always, but definately defensively. Clay Co. has the best shot of knocking off PC, but it is PC's tournament to lose. PC is playing really good basketball right now, winning 6 in a row, they have two tough games to finish out the week and we'll see if their momentum continues into tournament.
  23. I heard they could flick it from anywhere, I've heard that my whole life. Steve was my coach back in jr. high, and all you heard around here was how good him and Kinch were back in the day, the funny thing is that, if they kept up with assists at PC back then, or now for that matter, my dad would probably be top 5 all-time. From what he says, him and steve were the only offense after Kinch graduated, steve and dad were in the same grade, he said if he could get it to steve, he would make it. From what I hear, if Kinch didn't have 30 or 40 a night, PC never had a chance. I know that Steve's single game scoring record stood until 2002, when Aaron broke it, ironically on Steve's birthday. That was the same game, that when Aaron left, he had out scored Livingston Acad by himself.
  24. Yeah, VB and PC both get the shaft when it comes to the AP poll because the Herald-Citizen is the only Upper-Cumberland paper that votes in the poll. Your right, and for two straight nights in byrdstown, the "Wheelhouse" should be rockin'. I can't remember the last time PC played to big games at the end of the season. Clinton Co. will pack the gym as always.....how good will VB fans travel? Also I want to correct something I said earlier, Bibb has beat Clinton Co, twice....03-04 season. They didn't play 04-05, and PC has lost the last four to them.
