  1. I guess making it to the quarterfinals and finishing behind Maryville always will be fine too.

    That is an issue for the entire county, in case you missed that as well. Man, you are really out of it.

    Why don't you badmouth and try to get all those coaches fired?

  2. Never thought hearing Riverdale should finish 3rd would be a positive thing.

    Riverdale finished already third this most recent season after a very tough season with a great finish, even with all you "fans" talking against them for much of the season. With a lot of returning starters and talented freshmen who have a lot of varsity experience getting a year older and strong, I believe they will do even better and be competing for the top two spots.

    Some positive support from "fans" who can do little more than badmouth the coaches, team, and program might give them a little help too.

    I doubt some "fans" are adult enough to do that and will continue to let their petty opinions of a coach control their emotions and ability to show positive support.

    Two of those schools are the beneficiaries of all the rezoning. They received students while Riverdale lost them. The third is an IB school and receives students from all over the county.

    Two of the three have never won a gold ball. Only one has won one since Aydelott has been at Riverdale.

  4. OK let me see if I got this straight now according to Swimmy.  He is right and the rest of us are idiots that do not deserve to have an opinion.

    I AGREE with Swimmy on one thing though.  Coach A can carry his own water, so I guess he will also be the water BOY this next season.  That is the one job in football at this level he might be good at. :roflolk:

    I have never said that you do not deserve to have an opinion. Your's is just uninformed and stupid.

  5. 7 AAA, we are talking about the eight years Coach A has been there. He has had the talent to win a Gold Ball. Now that he has ran everybody off, you are probably right about the talent left.

    So you are flip flopping and saying there is not the talent there to win a gold ball? Still waiting to hear about how you are so close to the program...

  6. Eye gess knott SS......Iz a "hypothetical scenario" anuthur one ov than Mid Tinn Cuebun seegars???

    I wasnt aware of any middle tn cuban cigars and I dont smoke cigars or anything else for that matter.

    Since Aydelott won a boat load of games while the Riverdale program was being gutted by county politics, I figure he can carry his own water. I just like pointing out facts versus the uninformed opinions of some Riverdale "fans" who like to point fingers and try to blame the problems on the guy who has kept the program respectable in the face of huge obstacles.

  7. Every post that you've ever made on here has been an excuse . Pitiful to watch actually .

    Every post I have ever made? Really? Want to make a wager on that? And why is looking at historical reality of the situation an excuse?

    Rankin sees the handwriting on the wall and leaves. Handwriting becomes reality;

    lax transfer and out of zone rules tightened up, multiple new schools opened that takes students. Program declines slightly, but maintains a winning record with multiple playoff wins during huge changes. None of that is an excuse, it is what happened. The real excuse makers want to blame the coach, but for what? Winning while facing huge changes in the school that was caused by the county long before he was named the coach.

    Since you M'ville guys jumped in to this uninvited, I will let you stew on this one a bit;  Maryville would not come out of such transition and upheaval with as much success.

    And now that Rutherford Co is stabilizing the school zones somewhat, watch what happens at Riverdale in the next few seasons. It will be fun.

  8. SS ewe haiv moore excuses thain Owl Goar's Global warmin' peepull, tryin two eggsplain reccurd Ain'tarctick ice and a Arktick ice comin' baick this paist yeer ......

    Apparently you do not understand the difference between a hypothetical scenario and an excuse.

  9. Hairatige and Will-Yum Blunt haid knew fasillities when'st thayt wuz bilt and Mairvul wuz old......Eye'll hang up and lissun..... :popcorneater:

    Doesnt matter that WB and H have new facilities, the first two parts of the scenario did not happen;

    1. Quarles leaves

    2. The loose out of zone policies and cheap tuition are addressed and tightened up by the BOE.

    Let those two things happen, then build 3 brand new facilities and watch what happens.

  10.  You're so Full of it ... Riverdale has 800 more Students than Maryville ... that's after your so called watering down ... Maryville doesn't have near the Population as Murfreesboro . As long as Maryville has a GREAT COACH , the kids in the Maryville area are gonna find a way to go to Maryville ... just like they would Riverdale if they had a GREAT COACH ... watching you try to take any blame off of your buddy is Pathetic .

    you jumped yourself into a conversation that you have not been following so well and have made yourself look the fool.

    Here is the hypothetical scenario that you missed;

    1. Quarles leaves

    2. the loose out of zone policies are tightened up by the BOE

    3. the school is split three times in less than 10 years to send students to brand new facilities.

    What happens to the football at Maryville?

    If they lose, its understandable because of all the drastic changes

    If they have a winning record, they must have replaced Quarles with a pretty good coach to get them through all the obstacles created by the drastic changes.

  11. The young ones should be getting prepared on the freshman and JV teams. If you go watch a freshman practice or game there is about 15 players getting work. The rest are standing around. They are not physically or mentally ready as freshman to compete on varsity. They might improve as the year goes on, but by then your 1 and 4 trying to dig out of a hole. Closer than you think swami.

    If there is as much talent there as you claim, those five freshman must be more than ready enough to compete on varsity. Perhaps those five freshman are the exact evidence you need of the amount of talent at Riverdale. You seem to be very scattered and confused.

    Since your kids is done playing there, why don't you enlighten us as to how close to the program you are. I think you are lying about it. Perhaps you read the papers and live in the neighborhood and you think that makes you a Riverdale expert. I believe you are no more than an occasional game or practice attendee, but probably not even that. I am betting you are friends with the parent of a kid of sits the bench or quit, and that parent is feeding you a lot of disgruntled parent bs that you are swallowing whole because the season was a tough one for the program.

  12. The goal at Riverdale is to compete for championships. The goal at Riverdale is to get better during the spring. There was a time at Riverdale when you didn't see the field until you were a junior or senior. The future is not bright because you got 5 freshman playing time. this means you either didn't develop the upperclassmen or you have ran half of them off or both.

    You speak those goals as if they are an epiphany.

    In one post, the complaint is that the young ones are not being prepared well enough. In another its the young ones are playing too much.

    Some of you Riverdale "fans" are schizophrenic.

  13. Ok, let's split the Maryville school in half. Guess what, the kids find a way to Maryville high because they want to play for Quarles. You would not have SEC commitments driving by Maryville high to play for someone else.

    Oh how little you understand.

    For a couple of years, a few will still find their way to Maryville, but changing their loose out of zone policies would effect that greatly. Since with every new high school comes new feeder school patterns, the kids in elementary and middle would hear for years about how great the new building is, how fantastic the new athletic facilities are, and all of their friends they grew up with would be going there, so eventually very few would be finding their way to Maryville.

  14. Salami have you ever been to Mervul. It's very similar to M'Boro only more rural. Yet kids want to go to Murvul even to the point of paying or moving into the schools zone. Why you may ask. Because Mervul has a great tradition of wining, great boosters and great fan support, but kids also want to play for Quarles. Hum, kinda sounds familiar until a certain coach trashed the " tradition of wining, great boosters and great fan support" and kids simply don't want to play for him to the point of moving out of the zone or skipping over it altogether.

    Key excuses and go......... :popcorneater:

    Yes, I have been there. Many times. T

    ake Maryville and split it three times to go to brand new campuses with all the bells and whistles, after their coach leaves, and the newly hired coach keeps a winning record with multiple playoff appearances, and then say that coach trashed the program and you will sound just as ignorant as you do right now.

  15. You saying the talent is not there is your lack of eye for talent. That is the only way coach A has won so many games is because the talent covered up his bad coaching. And if he would have paid more attention to defense, his wing-t might could have won a gold ball.

    I have said the talent is down, not "not there." And I have also said the lack of continuity from the changing zones and subsequent feeder patters is a problem.

    And his wing-t has won a gold ball.

  16. that's exactly what we been telling you swami, building and splitting is not the issue. IT'S THE COACHING. Nolen is part of the problem on the rezoning stuff you had an issue with earlier that no longer is an issue. He didn't fight for some of the zoning we could have kept. And coach A has not been in a tough situation. The talent to win or get to Cookeville has been there.

    Incorrect. And principal are powerless in zoning issues. You saying the talent is there is meaningless. I say the talent needed to win gold balls wasn't. The absence of gold balls would say I am more closer to the truth than you.

  17. There is a reason we built more schools. We have more students than Maryville and Alcoa. Split them and they could have 4 schools in 2A.

    The reason for building and splitting isn't the issue and doesn't matter, but nice try on another failed attempt to avoid giving a logical or lucid response. You like speaking in hypothetical conjecture, so surely you have some real input here.

    The problem is that you cannot give an answer that will support your side. If the new coach loses, its because the talent was diluted and losses were expected and the new coach couldn't keep it together. If the coach wins, he must be doing a pretty good job in the face of increasing obstacles. You cannot man up and admit that Aydelott has done a dang good job in a tough situation and has won a heck of a lot of regular and post season games.

    With all the changes, people with real knowledge and forethought expected Riverdale to decline. Aydelott kept that from happening for a long time and has had a couple of rough seasons during his stint, but overall has been an excellent coach. The program is on the rise with a great finish to a season that looked to be ending in disaster but did not.  A lot of very young and talented players got some very good experience and Riverdale will be in the top three if not top two teams in the district in the upcoming season as long as Nolan keeps his sense and doesn't let people ignorant of the true situation sway his thinking. Since he knows exactly what the issues are and knows the bigger picture that has created the Riverdale decline that is ending, I doubt he will. He will crack another beer, sit back and let Aydelott do his job, weather the "storm" of comments of stupid "fans" that don't like or understand an effective ball control misdirection offense, laugh inside at complaints of the parents of bench sitters, quitters, and whining homers that can only be positive and supportive when winning, know that Riverdale football has survived being split multiple times with a winning record, and watch the rebuilding that can now happen. Nolan hired the right guy for difficult times he knew were coming.

  18. +1 Lawnboy, Yard Jockey, Lap Dog. Yada Yada Yada. It's not like coach has just showed up. He's been the for how long and the program is going where? The kids are voting with their feet, the boosters are voting with their wallets and the fans aren't showing up at all.

    Salami time for your excuses in 3...2...1 and go! :popcorneater:

    yawn...program is on its way back up after the predicted (prior to Aydelott) downhill slide. That says a lot for his coaching abilities.

  19. Swami, you are either on the coaching staff or not close to the program at all. But take a poll from every fan or parent that has been around the program for the last 8 years and 90% will say it is the coaching that has brought the program down. But Swami you are always right and have to get the last word. So let's just say your right this time and blame it on rezoning and kids with no talent and kids with no heart.

    I think you may be close to the record for incorrect posts in a single day.

    I have never said there is no talent and only said that the kids who were supposedly football players but walking the halls and not on the team had no heart for the game. Walking the halls and not playing is ample proof of where their heart is and where ever it may be, it is not on playing football.

    You still haven't responded to my scenario;

    "Take Rankin out of Alcoa or Quarles out of Maryville, take away the loose zoning policies and cheap tuition, and split each of those schools three times in less than 10 years, and open up multiple schools that have football programs that pulls deeply from your talent base. If you have a program that still has a winning record during that period of time, then you replaced Rankin or Quarles with a great coach. Period. End of story and discussion."

    Since you like talking about imaginary things, this should be a fun topic for you.
