  1. That's kinda what I was saying, it's hard to judge any team against another until you've seen 'em play each other.

All I hope for on that Friday night is that the kids have fun, the better team wins (whichever team that happens to be), Oneida beats Unaka, & ALL teams are injury free @ the end of the night.

    Good luck to all.

  2. i know this is a lillte late to ur last post, but greenback had almost 600 yards of total offense against midway and almost 450 of that was passing so i think they r a little suspect against the pass which is wat grace excells at. i think grace can score on midway more than u think.

You may be right but since you used Greenback as a measuring stick lets look @ that for a minute. You already listed the stats from Midway. Friday Greenback only put up 8 points & were held to 150 yards of TOTAL offense against Oneida. Go back a little further & you'll find Midway beat Oneida by 14. . . . . something doesn't measure up when you use that measuring stick.

  3. I wouldn't say Midway's D is vulnerable to the pass. It is more accurate to say their D-backs are vulnerable to pass completions. I'll explain, their D-backs are FAST and stay fairly close on coverage but give plenty of room to get the ball in. With that said you have to be really slick to get many YAC's (referring to the aforementioned speed). The problem with the pass approach is their D-line & backers are extremly tough. Grace will have little, if any, time to find a receiver. And BTW THEY HIT A TON ! ! !

Offense is no problem, Midway will put up A TON of points on Grace. Question is can Grace keep up? I don't think so.

    Midway by 21 +.

  4. This game will not be close. I didn't think Hampton played close to their potential at Oneida but any way that you want to look at it, the Indians played Hampton close. Unaka on the other hand couldn't stay on the same field with Hampton. Hampton embarrassed them 40-0 and the Dawg's starters came out in the 2nd quarter. So, Oneida thats the kind of team that you will be facing Friday. I kinda want to see Unaka win because it would make the road for Hampton a little easier. But I also love watching Unaka getting their brains beat in...

    Oneida 32

    Stoner Creeker 6

The Indian's D has made a lot of teams feel like they didn't play up to their potential this year HAHA (just talkin' trash don't be offended). But seriously I know what you mean, Hampton didn't get to see Oneida's full potential when we traveled up their last year. Maybe it's the change in elevation or something /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />. Good luck with Coalfield next week & maybe we'll see you again in a couple of weeks, who knows.

  5. If Cosby beats Grace and Jellico beats Unaka, Jellico is 3rd.

If Grace beats Cosby and Jellico beats Unaka, Grace is 3rd.

If Cosby beats Grace and Unaka beats Jellico, Cosby is 3rd.

If Grace beats Cosby and Unaka beats Jellico, Unaka is 3rd.

WIN and we are in, LOSE and we go home ---Can be said by every team (yeah, yeah, except Hampton and Cloudland).

I didn't realize how big of a mess it was for third & fourth in R1A when I asked that question. Since then I have discovered that there is no "yes / no" answer for my question. Anyway thanks for the reply. Good luck to all & we'll see third place @ the reservation next week.

  6. Thank you crow for your positive post. Its nice to hear someone not trying to beat you down with sarcasm and picking apart your team with negativity.

No need 2 thank me, I'm just stating what should be obvious to anyone who has watched a YAI game or two. Enjoy the success & tune out all the negatve BS. LOWER YOUR HEAD, SQUARE YOUR PADS, AND JUST KEEP ROLLIN'.

  7. Having followed Scott Co. football (both SHS & OHS) for more years than I care to mention I have had numerous chances to watch YAI. I have always considered them a team not to be overlooked. They have always been a line up & shove it down your throat type of team. I personally have never saw the "lose their cool" type of team some speak of. They are however a very disciplined team that makes very few mistakes & almost never miss assignments. GOOD LUCK DRAGONS I'm glad all the hard work & discipline is paying off.
