  1. Amazing 21 pages and growing. Too bad the local farmers co-op's from both counties can't bag all of it and sell it. What an impact it could have on both local economies. Both programs are rich in football tradition and will represent each region well regardless of what is posted on these threads. So let the sarcasm continue if it helps pass the time but we will still have to wait until Friday night for what will be the biggest battle either team has engaged in thus far. I think I can speak for all Marion County fans when I say that it feels good to be playing on the brown grass again representing the valley in the second round. Although it is not the valley of the gods, we do thank GOD for the valley! Go Warriors! win, lose, or draw we are proud of you.
  2. No, MC must win against Sequatchie to take second place. The challege for Marion is to stay focused on the task at hand. Sequatchie is a well coached region rival that that is very capable of beating them especially since the game is in Dunlap.
  3. Well put Bill!? There is a definate difference in discipline, work ethic, and attitude around Marion County Football!? These three ingredients will pay dividends in the long run on the field, but more importantly in life where the wins really count every day! ?
  4. Great idea rlh, but I think the text would be too small to read with the picture and all.? Maybe we could save a lot of room and just put a big "P" on the side of the helmet because you know, you can't spell pansy without a "P".? Nah, no one would go for that, besides I think some one already has that one. ? ? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  5. Glad to hear everything in Pirate town is going so well. All Marion supporters value the opinions and sympathetic posts from SP, and are so glad you would not take the opportunity to gloat over the peril that our program appears to be in. We all know by now that SP will always have the superior talent level that they enjoy now, and will always be in contention for region and state titles. We here at Marion are having to deal with the reality that the sun doesn't shine on every dog at the same time. I know it would be impossible, but if for some unfortunate reason Pirate town found itself in a similar situation as Marion's, I hope we could be as sympathetic and humble!
  6. To all Marion County Warriors, A strong program is more than coaches and players, it takes commitment from the administration, student body, and community as a whole. The success of the nineties at Marion County was a direct result of hard work, community involvement, and purple pride of the eighties. Whomever coach Evans' successor might be will have to find a way to help bring the athletic programs together so that its not a basketball, baseball, or football player but a Marion County Warrior. I have the greatest confidence that this program can again return to prominence, IF we all work together and quit placing walls between us. I will step down from my soap box by saying that the success of the nineties was great, but the journey that brought us to that pinnacle was just as rewarding as everyone worked together toward that goal. To paraphrase a Marion County football legend; In order to be a winner you have to first believe that you can win, lets all pull together and say; we can and "WE WILL!!"
