  1. Absolutly they will be successful, and in the long run, playing that scedual will help them come playoff time. My point is I don't think when this plan comes about any 1-9 teams will be in. The plan/districts will be tweeked to prevent that.......surely! If not......Milan and West View need to skip all the games except against each other, I can't imagin a season of ten games with only one counting. TSSAA will come up with some B.S. multiplier to make the games against the 4A schools count, if they don't rethink the districts. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
  2. I can't take it anymore!!! Could someone please tell me what Eakes had to say!!!!! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> For the love of god man!!! /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
  3. I feel your pain, Peabody has been one of the smallest 2A's forever, it makes it an even harder row to hoe brother. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. Peabody's speed and spread offense didn't give Goodpasture any problems last year. As much as I hate it, it will be Milan and Goodpasture in the semi's. Although it would be nice to see Goodpasture taken out early! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. No, but I would be interested to know what he had to say.
  7. For sure they will! Week in and week out all of 4A will be a nasty place to live, maybe even more so than 5A. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. You raise a good point CATFISH, what would these classes look like without the ABC's if they all (or most) go Division? 3A could lose a lot of good teams.....not that it matters. Thanks Alcoa. Do you think this new plan could move us close to a real split? /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
  9. The more things change the more they stay the same! Looking waaaaaaay ahead..... I was looking at the realignment figures in the Tennessean and came to a realization, Nothing changes much at all. Looks like the same teams are going to be the fav., just in a new class. There will be some changes in 2A, but for the most part.......same old same old. Here is my list of who should be in the thick of it from 2009-2011 in each class. No order, just a list. 1A-S. PITT., JO BYRNS, BRUCETON 2-A- HUNTINGDON, PEABODY, MCKINZIE, ONEIDA, TROUSDALE CO., CASCADE (2A WILL BE MUCH MORE FUN WITHOUT ALCOA) 3-A ALCOA, CAK,DCA,GOODPASTURE,MILAN,WESTVIEW (STILL THE BEST CLASS TOP TO BOTTOM) 4-A DAVID LIPSCOMB, DYERSBURG, CROCKETT CO. 5-A HENRY CO.,DYER CO.,MILLINTON,MELROSE (KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT HERE) 6-A MARYVILLE, MARYVILLE,RIVERDALE,MARYVILLE,GERMANTOWN,MARYVILLE,ALCOA.....RAT KILLING! So who would you rank as the top two in each class......?????? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  10. Huntindon should be the fav. in the new 2A the first year, and may win it all. Peabody will be the fav. in 2011. Our 2009 freshmen team has more raw talent than last years seniors, and the High school coaches can't wait for them to get to there. Both Huntingdon and Trenton should really thrive in the new setting, they will be two of the largest schools. I just hope we don't stop playing Milan!
  11. I would move Mckenzie up a couple Goodpasture down a couple and Henry Co. to second. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. BC....you got me all wrong, I am from Trenton, Peabody man all the way. I have NO love for Milan at all. But, Alcoa will be seeing them this year. And it will be a game, no blow out here. And to answer your question, yes we did kick that Bulldogs butt! It felt great! But that was last year.
  13. Oh yea my top ten TEAMS reguardless of division 1. Maryville (who else) 2. Brentwood 3. Alcoa 4. South Pitt. 5. Milan 6. Good Pasture 7. Henry Co. 8. Melrose 9. CAK 10. Mckenzie
  14. I think that is a pretty good list of sleepers, with that said, I would like to add one more. Please don't laugh. This one is a true SLEEPER. Gibson County High is going to shock some teams here in the west. They have size and for the first time in like .....forever..... they have speed. The only real question is can they learn how to win in a hurry. If so they may well make the playoffs for the first time in like......well.....you know. I belive Camden, much like Peabody, just lost to much to graduation to be a real threat.
  15. My thoughts.......who gives a shizz about Alcoa!
  16. "Milan would not be much of a contest at all for Alcoa. They would destroy the Bulldogs by whatever margain Rankin feels like winning the game by on a cold Friday night in December. " Win? Maybe.... Destroy? NOT THIS YEAR JACK!
  17. My top five 5. Martin Westview 4. CAK 3. Goodpasture 2. Milan 1. Alcoa Now I will go out on a short limb and say Milan upsets Alcoa in the championship. Whos your early picks this year and why? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Cant wait till August!
  18. I do not belive any 1-9 teams will be in the playoffs. If so, the plan will still work in the long run. If Milan or Westview go into the playoffs at 1-9, they will have lost to a bunch of 1A - 2A schools, and don't belong there any way. By your way of thinking boxing should only have one weight class. I have no problem at all playing bigger schools.....did it for four years.....Made our team better. But come time for the post season, trying to win a title, why would a feather weight get in the ring for the heavyweight championship? As far as the TSSAA, open your eyes man, they want Middle TN schools to win them all. This plan is here to break the East TN strangle hold. Maybe West TN can crash the party now! And yes I know Milan and Westview never backed down from anyone, but they HAVE played schools with nearly half their enrollment, and used that record to be seeded in the playoffs. Now those games will not count. Only the fights in your weight class.
  19. I agree 12......it won't be pretty at all. But hey, they can't all be the 2007 quarter finals.
  20. OK here is what I am getting from all of this. Private schools only want to play push overs, they can dish it out to small 1A schools, but move them up and they ain't so tough! Case in point.... USJ ran rough shot over small schools for years.... moved up to 2A and can't compete. Stop crying and take your lumps like everyone else. Area powers also don't seem to like the jump in comp. "Hey we are one of the largest 2A schools in the state, lets make a living playing the smallest 2A teams that border on being 1A!" (See Milan Bulldogs vs. Humboldt, Trenton, Huntingdon, etc.) Whats wrong with these people? Is it that goes around, comes around thing? And one more thing......YOU WILL HAVE TO WIN SOME FOOTBALL GAMES TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!! Now thats going too far! We should be able to win 2 or 3 games and get in! Give me a break......in my day we went 8-2 and didn't make it in......stop with the something for nothing mindset. Go out and earn it, or take Home Ec. I like the plan.....it makes teams work for a championship, and now it will be a more realistic goal for some. For others......they may have to work harder than in years past......but what in the heck is wrong with that? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
