  1. well from what i remember, jackson christian was not a strong team the last two years (ND has played them in state quarters), and dyersburg lost to them 0-4. but yes, ND should not take them lightly

Does Notre Dame allow Coacht access time during school hours ? :roflol:

    D :roflol:

haha funny...I was at home after a SEARCH overnighter and came in late =]

  2. I've been to this camp the last two years, once as a forward and once as a keeper. The keeper training last summer was stupendous, coached by the William Penn keeper coach. The field player camp was okay, but not really worth the money. But then again I might be biased seeing as i live in Chatt Town so it's not that exciting ;]

  3. CAK 4 (1 early, 3 2nd half OR 3 in the 1st half and an early goodbye to the Lady Bison)

    Station Camp 0

CPA 3 (tied at the half, 2 more 2nd)

USJ 1 (just like old times, USJ scores first... CPA answers big.. 5-1 last year)

    FRA 5 (too much)

    Seymour 0

Notre Dame 5 (was it 6-0 last time???)

    Jackson Christian 0

    Total Goals here: 18

    CAK 2

    CPA 1 (squeaker!)

    FRA 1

    Notre Dame 1 (overtime!!)

goal scored before the penalty kicks, (or at least it better) cause I will score myself if I have to.

Notre Dame gets the revenge. 2-1

Total Goals as of now: 24

    The final:

    CAK 2

    Notre Dame 1

A heartbreaker for the Irish. They were so close. Game is called with 9 minutes left because GPS' flag football team needs the field.

    Total Goals: 27

(If this goes right then either FRA wins the semi, or Notre Dame wins the final. Either way, BigG goes down)

(But I plan on winning the contest anyway... even if I do beat G by 2 points. They better only score 27 goals or less)

i swear conig if this is right i will personally hunt you down and strangle you. ND better win this year. and ND won 4-0 against JCS last year. wasn't exactly an exciting game

  4. well if i do get to come in, here are my state picks:

    quarters:

    CAK vs. SC: CAK

    CPA vs. USJ: CPA

    FRA vs. Seymour: FRA

    ND vs. JCS: ND

    Semis:

    CAK vs. CPA: CAK

    FRA vs. ND: ND

    Final:

    ND

    total goals: 26

    go Irish! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  5. CCS was not the same level of a team it was last year, at least not on Saturday. CCS is undoubtedly a great program, but they looked unsure of themselves at times and vulnerable (possibly due to inexperience). I'm not sure if CCS is inexperienced or not, but some of those girls looked and seemed to play "young" at times. CCS held its own though. Both teams had a few opportunities before Station Camp scored about 15 minutes into the second half. No offense to the young lady, but I wasn't real impressed by the CCS starting keeper. She didn't play a high ball that hit in the box well on that first goal, with the Station Camp girl really having an empty net to score as a result. SC was a little more skilled up top. The match was more even than the 3-0 score indicated though. It seemed as if CCS began to press after Station Camp scored that first goal.

In regard to the Station Camp defenders, they may be talented, but they did some sloppy things at times that they managed to get away with. A shutout of CCS speaks for itself though.

Best of luck to Station Camp in Chattanooga.

wow. i have to say i'm shocked. CCS's keeper is typically excellent in the net. should be interesting to see how the brackets line up

  6. In the Bearden vs ND JV game, the ND keeper was given a red card for touching the ball outside of the box. The ND keeper was coming out hard to beat the forward to the ball and she slid out of the box in the process. Now I went and stood behind the goal and with the sun setting you could not see any lines at all. Now with the sun at your back you could see the lines. Anyway the referee determined that it was a intentional hand ball because she was the last person in the line of the defense. She had to leave the game with ND playing with 10 players and Bearden was awarded a free kick (they did not score). I am not questioning the call but does anyone know what the rules say regarding this young lady? Does she have to sit out 1 game?, 2 games? Does this carry over to varsity games or does it just count on JV games? By the way she played a heck of a game! Bearden has a heck of a team. If I understand correctly this is the first tie (no losses) that Bearden JV team has had over the last 2 years.

that's a difficult situation. i found it very difficult to see the lines even after the sun had set, let alone before. but yes, olivia played amazing! she was all over the ball

  7. if olivia only has two sit out 2 varsity games, she will be able to play on senior night. she sat out last night, and the ccs game is tuesday. senior night is thursday.

and i also want to point out what a great job she did in that jv game. she was all over the ball

oh nevermind, i thought the varsity game right after counted as one

  8. I agree with your summation as to where the two sided will end up on this. As to the second point you make, I live in a split household. My daugher, a keeper for more than 9 years now, sits on the other side of the fence. At times in her experience through inexperienced teams and guest play she saw some fairly lopsided scores. She got upset when these happened, but she was/is infuriated to the red card level when she knows they are not scoring on purpose. As she puts it, "You just have to look at it as an opportunity for more keeper training. During a normal 1 hr session with a coach, you have to try and fend off about a hundred shots on goal. And guess what, you don't keep all of those out either." But yes, as a parent, it's tough to remember that when it is happening to your offspring. Most keepers are tougher mentally than we give them credit for, and most coaches are very supportive of the keepers in these situations. Since this is not the thread for how much should you score, I won't post at length. I fall on the disrespect for the game side.

Also difficult since we seem to be discussing multiple games, none of which I saw.

    Edited for spelling

yeah, as a keeper myself, it always stinks having a high scoring game against you. but goalies have to keep the mindset that not all goals are their fault and to use the many shots as a good learning experience/training. i completely agree with your daughter's view. high scoring games may stink for the losing team and yes, excessive scores are a bit much, but they can learn from watching the winning team play. it can only make them better (unless of course they just give up altogether).
